Good explanations for Oahu. 👍 Loved the "Likelike" intro. After moving to GA, I loved tricking friends here how to pronounce Pipeline once they learned the correct way to pronounce Likelike.
Much Mahalo🌈🌺🏝 love all your videos!! Lived in Oahu in the 80’S all throughout the 90’S And was blessed to visit the island August 2019....Already settled in GA🥰❤️ Aloha! Stay safe and keep us posted !!
Although I never pressed any of my "windward-side friends", I would wonder what they called Mauka and Makai?! As we on the "south-shore-side" always looks at Mauka being north, and Makai being south. When returning from living on the mainland for close to a decade, it made no sense to go back to the "Hawaiian" directions. And you know what, I never thought of it being an "Oahu" directions thing. GOOD CATCH! Makes you wonder if the neighbor islands use the similar references of landmarks?!
You also don't give directions like North, South, etc. You say turn right at the 76, the straight two stoplights, then a left at the Zippy's. It will be the green house with the lifted truck in front.
From the North Shore EVERYTHING is both Ewa And Diamondhead! From Mililani, both east and west shores are MAUKA. Its a SMALL place that hasnt figured out north, south, east and west yet! BTW, why does the H1 EAST and WEST run PARALLEL with NORTH and SOUTH King Street? DUH! Hawaiian "engineering"!
@@HelloFromHawaii Some people say it starts at Turtle Bay. I sort of do, but being a surfer I always said it started at Velzyland. Most people also think it ends in Haleiwa, I say it ends at Kaena Point. Oh, and when I said Waimanalo, the more correct end point is Makapu'u.
@@HelloFromHawaii....To a certain extent, Kahuku is included in North Shore, which generally means EVERYWHERE btwn Turtle Bay(aka Kuilima) to Ka'ena Point

east of diamond head you say koko head also what happened to country in relation to the north shore
I don't actually know where "country" starts. Kaneohe? Laie?
Windward Side is ... the windward side. Not just part of it.

Windward side extends from Waimanalo to Kahuku, bruh.
Kahuku too? Where does North Shore start?
