Thanks for finding my video and pressing play!
My first - and possibly last - time on a Fokker 70. KLM is retiring all F70s by the end of 2017. Join me as I visit the Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol, take a very, very long walk to the bus gates, and board PH-KZU at the “Fokker Farm” (an affectionate name for the huge remote apron where KLM Cityhopper aircraft park).
Flying time (takeoff to landing) on this flight was just 30 minutes; taxi time was nearly 20 minutes! We used AMS’s “Polderbaan” runway, which is located a considerable distance from the central terminal at AMS.
Enjoy the silky-smooth flying conditions on this very quiet aircraft; a fine, no-nonsense flight into Dusseldorf’s airport. Don’t forget to leave a comment and thumbs up!

Ah yes, Polderbaan... landed on it in a KLM F70 and it took about 15 minutes to get to the gate!
Nice to finally hear your voice 😜. I've been on that type of plane numerous times from Durham Tees Valley to Amsterdam.
Usually Im not into flying these old aircraft... unless its KLM, at least you know its well maintained and safe to fly... unlike some middle eastern or south-american aircraft.
Great report, nice to see you were able to enjoy the Fokker experience before they are all gone. Pretty hilarious snack from KLM , granted it's a super short flight, but its almost pointless in them even wasting the money.
+When I Travel The World Ha thanks! And don't give them ideas! No buy on board! :-)
Wow Paul I love all the new editing and the vlog style of the video!
Realy lovely flight report again. I think you were lucky to see the lounge quite empty. Hope you enjoyed your 30 minute "sightseeing" flight :D Best regards
Great video. Taxing to the Polderbaan runways, is a journey in itself!!
Robert Mansfield yes I know, the longest taxi I've ever encountered, think it was about 10-15 mins
Yes that's about right.
Love flying KLM via AMS where the taxi time is about the same amount as the flight from LCY. Used KLM in December to fly to Beijing - very convenient and smooth short transfer at AMS. Love how all the CityHoppers Park together like their own little village 😂😂
Awesome trip report! Going to fly this route the other way round in summer :) Really looking forward.. my first and probably my last ever flight on a Fokker :( Anyway.. great report and welcome to my home airport haha :D
Great review, this how a flight review should be!
Great report again Paul, keep em coming!
11:25 That ceased to exist in 1990 ;)
Awesome flight report! Love the Fokker 70 :)
+DutchFlyer Thanks - sadly I think this will be my only trip! :-(
Welcome to my main hub Paul , nice report i thought u would b coming directly from d UK. Cheers.
You were in the Crown 25 lounge though, the schengen one, I believe the Crown 52 lounge is superior for non-schengen?
Thanks for another great report Paul. Will be a real shame after 31st October when the Fokker farm becomes Embraer Esplenade. I asked KLM about the rote maps and the answer I got was that they were compressed to allow more room for advertising. Given that route maps don't make money I suppose that is not unreasonable.
+David Sadler I guess. I just don't see why they try to cram the whole alliance in! You can't see who goes where :-)
Paul, was that snowy landscape that you flew over at 11:44?
+Jon Brown It's western Germany, not sure where.
Thanks, Paul.
Ì wonder how long it will take before flights between Amsterdam and Düssedorf are discontinued. It is all over land, just 180 km between both cities, and there is an ICI rail service from Amsterdam going through Düsseldorf. The same with flights to Brussels and Paris which are also linked to Amsterdam with high speed rail services (up to 300 km/h)..
s125ish The question should be whether these very short flight connections can survive when (a) high speed trains depart from Amsterdam Airport and take you dirctly to the center of your destination, and (b) transatlantic flights can go straight to final destinations like Düsseldorf, Brussels and Paris.
great video!
Great Video again Paul and talking aswell, you'll be full on vlogging next ;-) !!!!!
+Nick Jones I'll never make a vlog as I'm not really that interesting!
Wingin’ It! Paul Lucas haha, nope, will probably never get more than 20k subscribers either ;)
Do a coach trip report
You could easily drive that distance in an hour and 15 mins, but it would be longer if there were traffic jams.
Nice1 Paul
how did you find out what your inbound flight was?
+Dydath Look up the registration of my flight and then search for it on the map.
I would ask why so little comentary added hen making the video
`Taxi'ing at Amsterdam Schiphol is a journey itself.
The Fokker Farm, now the Embraer Enclosure
Last time I was at Dusseldorf airport it was when the co pilot crashed that German Wings plane into a mountain....it was horrible. All the families and press
great pilot
12.52 kim jung un has been here
Nice trip report. Shame they withdraw these aircraft.
I don't get how this even has enough passengers to operate! Just go on the train!
+Halish Railways answer: lots of connecting passengers. :-)
nice

:D
Love the video but the music is way too loud as well as not my cup of tea. Seems excessive and doesn't add to the video. I am nit-picking.
