Or not and foot the bill for repairs later 🤷♂️

Check the owner too if he/she not crying to let it go 😂
@@Rikson_27 😂😂
Most important to do a test ride - check pedals for existence✌🏻
They existed when I bought it. 😁
Most droppers I have had have some play at the top to reduce torque at the dust seal and internally.
Play is usually sign of keys needing serviced. However lots of cheap droppers like this seem to wear abnormally fast.
All droppers have some amount of play, even if you spend $800 on a Reverb
@@hankhickisch3199 I have had a had three droppers from 3 major different outfits and they all have some play. It is by design. Stiction is the usual symptom that you need to service the dropper. Also. cold weather riders need to put the bike outside for some time before a ride to see if air pressure needs to be adjusted, if it not functioning properly.
@@dirtwolfmtbyou dont know shit
@@dirtwolfmtbthis is not true. Droppers ship with some play by design.
Also check for any play in the hubs, cranks. Nice one dude!
When buying used be aware of the condition of the front fork, rear shock and bushing/bearing (on full suspension) they can be costly to repair/replace. You need to find out how many hours they were used and what service was done.
Most sellers are not aware of this info. Majority of forks and shocks rarely get serviced. You should see the stuff coming into our local suspension shop which they post on IG/FB.
Thousand yard stare
How are you going to take it for a spin if there are no pedals
Put some on 😂
Bring flats lol 😂
RAGLEY MMMBOP, great choice!
Wish they were still making them. They are sweeeeeet bikes
One should also check the bottom bracket, headset and hubs for play.
🙌🏻
Them tires are sweet fast rolling and still have the side knobs
Bit torn, and not enough traction on the trails here.
Thanks for the tips!
No problem!
I will check the frame..... if perfect change all the components with new ones. Upgrade everything 😊
Haha pretty much
Thanks
Well i wish I saw this yesterday
You can’t check for dropper movement but every sub £200 dropper I ever seen has a bit of slack after a while.
Especially the Brand X Ascent (not knocking it, it’s an outstanding post considering it’s also the cheapest!)
I rebuilt it. And it had zero play afterwards. Go to RUclips and search “how to service a Brand X Dropper post” you will see you get a seal and pin kit. When the pins are worn it will develop excessive side to side play like this had.
All droppers have play, wolf tooth, pnw, oneup, fox, rockshox, sdg, bike yoke.
Excessive play. They do need serviced when worn.
How I got the frame guards locking really fresh
Could i suggest following each "check" with what to check? Without, this lacks any meaningful suggestions. For example, check the chain by measuring wear like this.... Also, repeat on dropper comments above. Some play can be totally fine and not a sign of wear depending on the dropper.
Okie dokie
I just bought a $3500 used Lefty for $500 best deal of my life
I checked but i dont have disk brake its the other one and mine is a clicker😢
Never had a dropper that didn’t have side to side play. I thought that was par for the course 🤷🏾♂️.
I was talking about major play my man. It should not have excessive play. That is a sign of worn pins 🤷♂️
more importantly check seat post isn’t seized in the frame
If it’s a steel frame and aluminum post, most definitely.
i have alu dropper stuck in a carbon frame
nice bike
Sad that they may be going under… Still have it. It’s My favorite bike other than the kona process.
“Take it for a quick spin” assuming it has pedals
Haha right
Lol don’t buy used right now. So many good deal on new bikes!
Plenty of sweet deals on used
Bruh tires in the Philippines are 2.5k and that’s like 50 bucks in your country
I wouldn’t buy a second hand bike the seller hadn’t bothered to clean first , if the seller can’t be arsed when selling it just think how it’s been treated day to day
Clean bike? What’s that 🤷♂️
@@dirtwolfmtb maybe it’s just me but I’m not happy unless my bike is box fresh and seem to spend longer cleaning than riding 🤣 which is annoying
What bike is that? Ragley what model thanks
Ragley mmmbop
That is an example of a dropper post I would not buy
New rebuild, works fine
Rubber is the cheapest thing that's needs to be replaced on that bike!!
I bled the brakes, serviced the dropper, trued the wheel, added pedals and rode it for a year. Now it has a completely different build of parts on it and a fantastic bike! 😁
what if it’s not a hardtail
There’s only one part difference between those two types of bikes 🤷♂️
@@dirtwolfmtb true 😂
👽
😎
what bike is this?
Ragley mmmbop.
@dirtwolfmtb thanks brl
Dude get outta here buying used u should expect to service. Only things check frame form shock
Hope you get them cheap 😂
He needs a pedal😮
Yup. Already bought the bike prior to this video 😂
Don't
No one is buying my bike if they have watch this video I have so many scratches
That means it’s had some fun!
basically, don't buy used mtb...
Just bought one used. Just because you should check it, doesn’t mean the part is going to be bad.
Watch for teeth marks and termites.
And aliens
All droppers have play and you should know that
They don’t actually. That is a sign of worn dropper sleeve pins, and it needs servicing.
They do actually ,ie rock side to side@@dirtwolfmtb
that was way too much thought for buying a used hardtail
Or don’t look at any of it and buy a lemon bike 😂
@@dirtwolfmtbfair, it’s great knowledge for beginners. But anyone who knows that kind of info is also wise enough to just get a full 🤷♂️
Hmmmmm very negotiation pro tipe🤔🤔🤔🤔
