Wow this video was very informative. I like how u said shoestudio. I didn't catch it at 1st cause I was paying attention to my amazon tracking. Had to skip back to hear that again. But I learned pretty much. Especially about the psi. Speed with that back piece to tighten & loosen for more pressure. Appreciate this so much. Can't wait to see ur next project
Thanks for your feedback! These are the basics that I was taught so I knew it'd be helpful for any beginners. I'm no pro but these basics have helped me a ton. I'm happy to share!
I have a project coming up later this summer with some mesh running shoes. I'll definitely make a video on it and try to give some tips about painting on that kind of material!
Does the PSI matter? I'm using the Iwata Ninja Jet and feel like it's not enough pressure. I find myself having to thin down the paint A LOT to get a consistent flow through the airbrush.
Yes the psi matters. Mine is usually set between 30-40 and I’m using Angelus acrylic paint. if your paint is thick then you’d want to go higher rather than lower. It could also be your airbrush, with thicker paints you’d want to use at least a 0.3mm needle.
nice video! just a question: do i have to wash the airbrush every time i finish a coat? or i can leave it in there until the first coat is dry? sorry for bad english
@@simonediamante7556 thanks! And no not after every coat, just make sure you don’t let it sit with barely any paint in it or it’ll dry up and cause your airbrush to clog. But it must be cleaned when you’re completely finished.
@moe_kickz thanks! So even if i leave the paint in the airbrush, with the lid closed, for like..30 minutes the paint will not dry in the airbrush is that right? Oh and another question, how much you wait for the paint to dry? Sorry but it's my first time airbrushing so i don't know if it dries faster than the brush
@@simonediamante7556 correct the paint won’t dry but you might need to clean the tip of the needle if it’s been a while since you last sprayed paint. And it does dry fast if you’re doing THIN coats, but I’d still give it 10-15 minutes to dry in between coats.
Sure! So this specific airbrush came with 3 different needles/tips, .25mm (1), .38mm (2), & .66mm (3). If your paint is more thicker like Angelus acrylic paint and you’re mainly covering larger areas, you’d want to use #3… it also sprays out more paint than #1 & #2. For painting finer details, you can use #1 & #2 but your paint needs to be thinner. I’ve never used #1 on custom shoes just because the paint is too thick. But you can use a #2 for finer details as long as you add thinner to your Angelus paint. Hopefully this makes sense 😅
You don’t have to take it apart after every color but you do need to run some airbrush cleaner through it a few times to get rid of the previous color. If you don’t, the next color will get mixed with the last color you used. I do recommend taking the airbrush apart and cleaning it after every use otherwise it’ll get clogged.
Thanks! I don’t always sand because I really don’t see a difference. But if I do sand I only focus on the areas that crease. I have a separate video on my channel on prepping shoes ✨

Great job explaining things for us noobs. I like "shoedio". Lol never heard that before.

@moe_kickz oh, i didn't read the "barely". So if the paint is a lot, no problem right?

@@moe_kickz thanks a lot. This change a lot of things. Have a good day!
Do u mind explaining the different size needles. What are they for?

PS … Really nice job!
What city you live in
Do you have to clean like this for EACH color you’re using? 😮

I couldn’t imagine taking it apart after EVERY color. Lol
Ty for clarifying!
Do you not acetone the shoes before spraying
I do, I have a separate tutorial on how to prep your shoe before painting
Dosen't matter if you sand it or not? And thanks, love your work 💛
