To the Tesla guys out there, yes I am aware I was using the terms 'Autopilot', 'Enhanced Autopilot' and 'Full Self Driving' quite interchangably throughout the video. My apologies if any confusion is caused! If it seems I should have used the term 'Autopilot' in place of say 'Enhanced Autopilot' or 'FSD', then I probably did and I was just rambling on and just not paying close enough attention to my words!
Great video thanks hopefully one day someone will do a video on just how good the lidar is in the BYD seal compared to Tesla in fog and low light conditions
said it before will stand by it. When this new seal gets here. It will not have this level of LIDAR on it. Australia is not ready and the government certainly is not ready for it yet. China are about 5-7 years ahead in technology. That is my thoughts on the time frames for it.
I used to have to cover the brake pedal as a way of coping with phantom braking. The byd doesn't complain about left foot braking with the accelerator still being pressed. The tesla would BONG if it sensed that situation. Dodging potholes in the Seal doesn't mean LKA is disabled like the Tesla does. The BYD should give a warning when the lane keeping drops out on a bend or when the line markings become marginal.
Tesla's Autopilot and Enhanced Auto Pilot are far more basic that this. It looks like the BYD system would sit somewhere in between Tesla's EAP and FSD capabilities.
Tesla CLAIMS FSD is a thing but it's simple level 2 because the company avoids responsibility for ANY FAILURE. They are skipping level 3 to skip the responsibility. The Tesla CON simply goes on. The Tesla boosters are listed in SEC filings.......and they get a 'tailored' level 2 OTA update for promotion purposes. Wakey wakey.
You won't need to wait that long. It's already physically in showrooms in China. Shouldn't be too long before we see real life independant demos of how it works over there
I really hope these features are ‘operational’ rather than ‘aspirational’. I have put my Seal purchase on hold until the 2025 model for Australia/NZ arrives in the flesh. Whether the higher levels are allowed outside China is yet to be seen.
I wouldn't be changing any purchase plans until official word comes out from BYD. It took over 12 months for the current Seal to get from release in China to Australia, so you might not see this new one until later next year.
@@BeYonD-EV It should be quicker than 12 months. Part of the reason it took a while for BYD to export Seal is because they were still building the Changzhou factory which is the dedicated BYD factory for all export.
In markets that get 3 trim levels (Dynamic, Premium and Performance) only the top 2 levels get it. In markets that get 2 trim levels (Deign and Excellence) only the Exellence will get it.
BYD doesn't put one pedal driving in any of its cars, I think that is a deliberate choice for them to omit it. In saying that, why offer one pedal driving when systems like this can offer zero pedal driving?

We won't know how well this system works until we get the car's here and try them out. I wonder if they will be coming this year ??

Will that come with car standard

I hate the top window mount LIDAR sensor, as it instantly makes the car look like a taxi (IMO!)
🤣now that you've mentioned it I can't unsee it!
It certainly an eyesore unfortunately
Yeah, a real shame about the Lidar bump 😅
It is probably a case that your view of the future world in not in sync with the actual.
When is it landing in Australia?
Very soon indeed.
Lidar lidar lidar, but no one pedal driving. Why?😢

@@BeYonD-EVif you want to drive the car yourself, one pedal is more comfortable and way more efficient. Ask tesla and korean brand users...
It's a matter of preference, one of the reasons that I choose BYD over Tesla is one pedal driving in Tesla cannot be adjusted.
Cool CGI, now just make it work in the real world
It's already out mate. This 2025 Seal was released in China on the 8th August and is already on the road.
I really can't see why we want this... I have the Seal excellence, but why the hell do i want it to drive/steer by itself...??
