I just installed a Nilight light bar on my T4, its working great but I want to wire it to the ignition so it can't be left on and so the wiring is clean. Where should I be running my hot wire.
Garrett, I thought you have your fuse box connected directly to the battery. When I connect my switches the same way. With power coming directly from the battery, my blue light in the switch stays on regardless of key position. Where should I be tapping in to prevent this?
Yes my fuse box is to the battery, but I built a jumper wire that connects each rocker switch to the ignition wire so the little light won’t run all the time. It should be number 6 on the rocker switch is what you’ll use. Also the ignition wire runs up through the middle dash close to the steering wheel. Mine was like a light tan color wire just use a tester. Also you could tap into the 12v power supply on passenger side since that’s connected to the ignition already. I used these it makes it real easy. TICONN 240pcs T-Tap Wire... www.amazon.com/dp/B07MLPBPW5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
@@DerangedOffRoad That's the ticket. Just pulled the pigtail off #6 on the switch until I have a chance to track down and tap the wire at the 12v outlet. Whip still functions with the switch, but no more light on all the time to kill my battery.

I have rock lights that all tie into the a main harness that has all the connection plugs running off, then there is a red and black wire that come off that box to your battery or bussbar. The other end has a on/off style switch. I want to cut that switch off and wire the 5 pin to it. I cut the switch off and have red, blue, and black wire. I have tried every way possible to wire those 3 wires into the 5 pin and cant get it to work properly. I tried to jump 8 and 7 together and tie the black into those then I tried to jump 2 and 6 together for the blue wire and then ran 3 to red. That does nothing. I know other people have tried to probably cut off the stock 0n/0ff switch before in order to use a 5 pin but cant find out how.
The black will go to the ground where ever you want that to be. The power wire for me into the ignition switch so when you turn the key on it has power. I will be doing a rock light install video soon in the next few weeks. That video will show how to wire it up completely.
There’s always two to three wires coming off any accessory but your not explaining where to land the black and sometimes white wires coming from the accessory-such as a light bar.
A basic on/off type accessory or light will only have two wires, power and ground. While normally red is positive and black is ground, wire colors are not actually universal or necessarily indicative of their intended function. Plenty of positive black wires out there as well. So he couldn’t ever tell you what color wire goes where with your particular accessory. You should refer to your accessory’s manufacturer for installation instructions and wiring diagram. 👊

Trying to understand the operation of this switch. If pin 2 & 6 are jumped, and pin 2 is connected to 12v battery, will the bottom LED stay lit? Want to only have an indication when the key is on. Appreciate your videos, just don't get this switch.
So I should have been more clear and have learned a lot doing these videos. The number 6 will go to your ignition wire. So every time you turn on your UTV the little light goes on. I jumped them in the video to just connect both you you could see the lights come on and off. Sorry about that should have explained it better. -Garrett
@@DerangedOffRoad On a UTV that has a busbar(distribution block) for powering accessories, can pins 2 & 6 on the rocker switch be connected to the + side of it instead of the battery allowing it to be powered on only when the ignition switch is in the on position ?
Cool commercial bro. At what point did you do anything other than make a 6 minute commercial. I absolutely hate these channels that say one thing but then it’s noting but a commercial or them just talking for infinity.
Great job thank you so much. Just what I needed to see you today.😊

Is there no need for a relay ???
Rocker switches have a relay built in, so you can choose if you want to run another. I ran two myself.

No fuse or relay?

Hi noticed in your video how to wire a light bar you said you were using something to give you your power. What are you using for your power?
A fuse box
