- A very unique and interesting bow today
The Orion Bow by Bamboo-Bows.
It is a horn-bamboo bow which looks very good, feels good and which is great shooter. You might need to get used to the bow, but then it is a charm.
Thank you Stefan Tim for your outstanding work. Very impressive!

Stefan makes absolutly beautiful bows. He is a very good friend of Jaap & Kay Koppedrayer. I did a bow making class with Stefan some years ago. We made a south indian bow similar like this bow and it's still holding up strong after all this time. Nice review Armin, thank you.
Dankje Kyra :)
I think, the turquoise rayskin is beautiful and adds a nice color spot to the bow ☺️ I love the look of the bow!
My horn bows need to rest for at least half an hour until they are ready to shoot, so maybe a litte wait would help this bow, too?
I would love to take care of this beauty! 😇😁
Thank you so much, dear Armin for this nice review! 🙏
That is a beautiful bow. Thank you for your Patreon program, Armin! Best wishes, everyone. 🙇🏻♂️👍🏹
Massive thank you for all of your hard work and time spent both learning and sharing all the important info on Asiatic bows. Your efforts are much appreciated and also a gateway to a world of true traditional archery.
This is the best Lothlórien looking bow I've seen and I like it a lot, very nice.
I like the look of Bamboo Bows, very pleasing to the eyes. A horn-Bamboo Bow...man that looks nice. Definitely out of my price range, but its a wow to look at, probably a wonder to shoot.
Nice review as always and a rather dashing bow, good choice from the patrons. Each to their own I guess but I rather like the turquoise arrow pass, it gives a nice bit of contrast to the bow.
Even though I myself prefer darker colors too. Anyways, props to the builder it's a really good piece of functional art :)
Thanks for your feedback and compliment! ;)
I was really curious about this bowyer and his bows. Thanks for choosing this one.
Interesting bow! Beautiful, elegant looking...and it certainly spits arrows nicely too! One of your Patreons will surely be delighted!
We all sincerely appreciate your wonderful reviews! Thanks again, Armin😊
Absolutely beautiful. Looks like great craftsmanship. Good luck finding an indoor location.
This is a very gorgeous bow I think! Thank you for the Test. But also it is very expensive.

Cool, that you could get hands on an horn-bambow bow! Looks awesome.
It's surprisingly heavy with 500 gramms for such a slim build..horn has some weight.
It seems to perform a bit less than the Grozer horn-Sinew BioComposite..but it was also warmer then-
I wonder what glue had been used here, if it was a modern epoxy (that should not react to temperature and humidity)
or the old style animal glue as before 20thst century.
On my own bow, I can hear a higher tension in the bow when I hold it next to a bone of my head- so even an
modern glasfiber-wood-epoxy composite reacts to cold, so I wonder if the old bows are much different- probably
even a bit more sensitive I would expect- but probably it should not make more than a few meters/sec difference (?).
The kind of bow I like : bamboo in it and beautifull . A bit like a bamboo yumi .
Stunningly beautiful bow. Looks very nice and I really like the performance. Thank you for showing us this one
Not my type of bow (I prefer short bows) but it looks beautiful, the "ruffles" on the wood and horn are amazing.
What a beautiful bow!
Beautyfull Bow! Like how it looks. And seemingly well build!
Thank you for the review!
Interesting and beautiful bow.
Be very interested in the limb thickness at the fade-outs , mid limbs, and tips minus the static tips. As a small time bowyer it interests me a lot
ich find gerade, dass der Farbbruch mit der Rochenhaut genial aussieht… Geschmäcker 😅
when stringing keep your legs at least shoulder width - will help you with the length of the pull.
how could I not know this :D
thank you
I just started archery thanks to you Armin and I love it! I’d like to shoot like you without a thumb ring, to fully feel the string and avoid accessories, but it seems to take a lot of conditioning. And I read about nerve damage… could you please give your opinion?
Armin, I hope you get to try his other bows--the Yumi, for instance.
The guy is a serious craftsman!
I hope that he will make some hankyus too in the future :)
Hehe, thanks! Yumi for sure, hankyu...hm maybe..
@@bamboo-bows hehe thanks for your consideration
reminds me of the Jurchen by Sarmat archery. Bamboo without horn, more manchu style, longer drwa, simpler but A LOT cheaper
Wow❤ beautiful but yeah the rayskin is off. Thank you for the review. 😊
Thanks for showing this beautiful bow.
I like the color accent in the middle, like a turquoise perl on a beautiful women with darker skin. But from a hunters perspective you might want to avoid color accents, I guess :D
Interesting the way it was bending, it was bending in sections starting near the handle then the next then the tips
Beauty - just needs some senew backing.
🙄😁🙌that is truly a beautiful bow 🙌👏👏👍
Bella arco
Beautiful bow. Thank you for the review. Informative as usual. How do you set up the online coaching? All I see is the 5 dollar Patreon?
25 is the entry fee, then you can send me weekly your videos which will have a look at
@@ArminHirmer thank you, when I resigned up for Patreon I didn’t even see a 25 dollar option.
@@williamdomey7584 I guess one has to do that manually
I want it, on looks alone,, YUM!
Great review Armi.
I'll have to wait for a Chinese Knock-off, LoL
Beauty Mate.
Ghah oh no, chinese knock-off with fiberglass probably hah!
@@bamboo-bows Brilliant work Friend, awesome!
over the years what have been your favourite bows to use? and what bow makers do you recommend?
too many :) might be a topic for a video ;)
schöner bogen und mich stört die kettensäge nich bögen und holzmachen gehört halt zusammen 😅
:D aber nicht aus Bögen Holz machen hahaha
This is certainly a beautiful and unique traditionally built piece of craftsmanship. Would you compare it more to the shooting experience of a Yuri bow?
no, it is still a symmetrical bow. Its more like a light recurve, reflex reflex feel
that's way out of my price range
I love your reviews and have joined your patron group but I am thinking of cancelling as I can not see your review videos. I am watching this on you tube as all I get on your site is l am not allowed to view as I don't have permission.
i Looked that bow up and it is going for over 1100 Euros. It is not exactly a cheap bow.
if you would have watched the whole video, I mentioned it 3 times :)
@@ArminHirmer well, I did watch the video, and I appreciated it. The bow was a very beautiful bow and I was very impressed with it. I was multi-tasking at the house while I listened to the video but wanted to check the bow makers site when I saw the price. I thought it might be less than that. As well, I was impressed that you got a very pricey bow to test.
@@jrippee05 bought it though full price
Beautiful bow but the stack just looks like too much.
Too often what you are saying is unintelligible because you mutter. If you are trying to impart information it needs to be delivered clearly please
well I am who I am...
Beautiful bow an i like the turquoise arrow pass, goes with my navajo turquoise bracelets lol, an i'm gald to say I've finally been able to become a paid patreon, as always loving the videos Armin 🫸🤛
thank you
