I don't think I'd be good at doing what this guy does..... but I want to be who he is. What an excellent human being; genuinely thrilled with the diversity and fabric of life.
What is it about pawn shop which keeps people's going? I belive because they are accessible and often family based bussiness. If I brock and need an immediate cash to put food on my table or pay my rent, the other loan mechanisms are dead for me. I will grab what ever physical stuff left in my house and solicit my near by pawn shop which I know for long time and try to relive my tense time for a while. The item here is just a collateral. I belive pawn shops had served community well since biblical time and still do. What they need is they must 100% adhear to the rules, establish a checking system to determine if the goods are legal, and take accountability when things happen.
I'm not sure when this episode was done, but the business is still around. And Ms. Schultz (sp) still running it, I think. A friend who knew someone who worked for her years ago said what she has on here is sort of like her uniform. Like her shirt. I think Huell should have asked her their monthly power bill is.
The neon queen has to be the oldest hottest woman I've ever seen. Something about her quietly confident demeanor and lovely hair coupled with the fact she is self-made and does what she loves for a living. It doesn't get more attractive than that.
Huell must have been running short on ideas when he decided to do this video. Although both are fairly interesting and could lead to 'real' series on the History Channel, Huell limits his reports and brings us no real detail. Sort of an overview or extended commercial of both places. I was hoping he'd get into more detail at the pawn shop and maybe talk about some of the items there. For example, all pawn shops like to point out their most expensive items as well as the ones that have been in the store the longest, etc. I've always been interested in how they determine what an item is worth. That's probably the hardest part of their job.
