  • @ArtDigitalMediaTV

    Is there a reason why you use the vocal channel plug in instead of the compressor in the 'Dynamics' section? I'm asking only because I often use that one to take advantage of the automatic audio ducking. Is there a difference between the two? I know that the Dynamics section doesn't have a High Pass. But, I suppose I can use the Vocal Channel plug in for that.

    • @drtimv
      @drtimv  Год назад +3

      For simplicity and speed of workflow. The multiband compressor has a lot of power, but the single band included with vocal channel offers a speedier workflow and achieves the results I'm looking for. No harm in using the multiband though!

      Yes, this is possible. Let's say I have background noise on the word "today". Then when you've got the timing right, drag and drop it onto your first track to replace the noisy word. I hope that helps.

    Clean and concise, thank you. One suggestion, reduce the lengthy cutaway clips (guitar pedals) and stay on your project. The knowledge is valuable and entertaining,
    the distraction is not.

      Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try curbing my B-Roll use in the next one and see how it goes.

    mono makes it to hear on only one side of the headphone which is VERY annoying!

      Follow the instructions and the mono will duplicate to both ears and sound crisp and clean.

    This guy is way off the mark for dramatic dialogue audio editing. Maybe this is good for promo videos, but if you do this to your dramatic story, you'll remove all the nuances of your actor's performance.

      100% agree - if you use this for dramatic content intended for film or TV release the compression ratio is overkill. However, the intended audience for this is fellow RUclipsrs. If you're not a RUclipsr, this tutorial still holds up, just back off on the compression ratio to fit your taste, mood, and style.

    Dialogue editing wizard because you gave us a couple of tips? Yikes! I hope your audience knows that you are kidding…? After a couple years in logic pro, then you might consider yourself a wizard.

      I hope they know I'm kidding, too! In any case, full refunds will be issued to all viewers who do not possess magical abilities by the end of the video.
