The green mile is one of my favourite books of all time. I wasn't a big reader and like 15 years ago i read this book and i loved it and now i'm obssesed with reading and i don't have enough time to read everything i want.
Ken Kesey - the main protagonist of Tom Wolfe's "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" - is these days mostly remembered as the author of "one Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest".
Green Mile is GREAT, its one of my fave Stephen King stories! It was originally released as a 6-part "series" like they would in the 1800s (from memory, could be wrong but that's how King decided he wanted to release Green Mile) - Your version is essentially all 6 of the parts put into one x hope that helps, love your content girl xx
Off season is Amazing! Skeleton Crew is my favorite collection of King's short stories. And Green Mile is fantastic also! Looking forward to seeing your reactions to those!!! Feel better soon!
"The Jaunt" is my favorite short story in "Skeleton Crew". There are some pretty good other stories in there too. I bought the audiobook a while back and have listened to it a bunch of times. Hopefully you will enjoy it!
Love Skeleton Crew, I have re read the stories so many times that I need a new copy. It's starting to look like your well loved copy of Pet Semetary 🤣 Hope you feel better soon! ❤
Serial novels was originally popular in the 1800s with such things as Penny Dreadfuls but they saw a resurgence during the 1980's and 90's. I used to love serial novels. I have dyslexia and tackling six 100 pages books one at a time was less daunting than one 600 pages book at least when I started reading for myself. What you got is the Green Mile serial novel just smashed together into one book. You know when they make omnibus volumes of a series this is the same but smaller since the original books is smaller.
Great shirt as always!!! Great vid. Timely vid as I wanted some new purchase ideas. I've heard Offseason is pretty good. I haven't read Dostoevsky since college.Anyhow, hope you start feeling better. I've eyed that same shirt for last few weeks.
I'm excited for you to read those Dostoevsky books. They are both good psychological character studies, and Notes from the Underground especially I think you will like because of it's influence on American Psycho. There is a passage from Notes at the beginning of AP so I'm sure Bret Easton Ellis took some inspiration from it.
Thanks for the "subject inspiration" for my very first September content... However, mine will be "horror, spring and more", since the seasons around here are the opposite... But I was just so out of ideas, so a monologue about that will be better than nothing. 😅 I mean, that sort of conversation and stuff. And I don't even need to plan all that much. So, thanks!
I LOVE Reading with Meg! If y'all aren't familiar please go watch her, she is a doll! (a sassy one 😆) If you love Anda, you'll love her! She occasionally does regular horror and thriller content in addition to her extreme horror vlogs and reviews. I'm glad she got some merch and I hope it helps with her situation. I really wanted that shirt but I'm not really into Extreme Horror BUT I just found basically the same shirt without the "extreme" part. Says "Introverted but willing to discuss horror novels" . 🥰 Curious to see if it actually does spark conversations about horror books, or books in general!
Off season has a sequel to it called offspring by Jack Ketchum. I am reading Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine in which season 12 of American Horror Story is based on
Come With Me is fantastic. I read Black Mouth first and loved it, read Come With Me shortly after and it didn't disappoint me. I've read about 5 of Ronald Malfi's books so far and those two are easily my favorites so far. The Stepford Wives is also great! Hope you feel better soon by the way!
Off season was so good! I really think that someone should make a film adaptation of it.. Ketchum's writing is so vivid.. I could visualize everything! Definitely a crazy story!!
"Survivor's Tale" is one of my favorites from Mr King. I honestly feel like Skeleton Crew was full of bangers and has no equal *Edit* I effed up the title of the story; as has been kindly pointed out. It's actually called 'Survivor Type'.
Based on the description of Come With Me, I think you or any fellow reader would enjoy The Night House (2020) film. Also my Skeleton Crew ranking: The Mist The Monkey The Jaunt (being adapted by It part 2 director) The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands Survivor Type Uncle Otto’s Truck The Raft Ballad of the Flexible Bullet Mrs. Todd’s Shortcut Beachworld Gramma Paranoid a Chant Finders Keepers Nona Here There Be Tygers The Reaper’s Image Milkman Cain Rose Up Word Processor of the Gods The Wedding Gig The Reach
Skeleton Crew is the first book I read by Stephen King. It’s good. I prefer his short stories. I just picked up a book called “Cursed Bunny” by Bora Chung. It’s supposed to be a blend of magical realism, sci-fi, and horror about the cruelties of patriarchy and capitalism in modern society. But I have to finish my book about Lizzie Borden and my ARC copy of a medieval crusade horror first.
omg Home Before Dark is so good!! So far I've read that, and Lock Every Door (loved it), and The Last Time I Lied (bit wild at the end, another banger!) 😁
The Last Time I Lied! That's the one I'm reading now haha. I couldn't remember the title. I'm really enjoying it so far. I think Lock Every Door was the other one I read and really enjoyed that one too. I'm excited to read Home Before Dark!
The green mile was originally released in a magazine then it was released as the smaller books and then was later put into one book. It’s all the same thing. Hope you feel better! I’m also under the weather today lol
I read Off Season many, many years ago and some scenes are still with me. I love your Sager hardback book, such a beautiful cover, UK covers can be boring (or subtle depending who you ask) I'm sitting here with an ebay & Amazon book haul, 3 Doug Lamoreuxs, 4 Darcy Coates, an A. E. Stanfill (I'll read as once I've finished watching your video) and an Adam Nevill I DNF years ago but really want to finish it as the story has been stuck in my head ever since (no one gets out alive). Feel better soon luv. Your videos are making me consume books like a junkie xx
Love Skeleton Crew! The Stepford Wives by Ira (eye)ra Levin is so good! I reread it recently and it kind of holds up considering the conservative attitude gov has about women. You got a great bunch of books. Happy reading.
To add to what was written below….the serialized version of “The Green Mile” was released over the first 6 months of 1996. At the time the first part was written, he said he didn’t yet know how it was going to end. Once the event was done, he collected the whole serial into the volume you have, fixing a few issues with the flow of the novel as well.
The Green Mile was indeed originally published in six separate "chapters" and was marketed as a "serial chiller"! (groan!) Perhaps my memory is playing tricks but I seem to recall that only one chapter was published per month and that the intervening wait to find out what happened was almost unbearable!
I read The Stepford Wives last year and initially thought it was just good but then I couldn't stop thinking about it. So, it definitely left an impression and I ended up raising my rating on my goodreads review. I like both adaptations, except for the like second twist at the end of the 2004 version- it totally undermines the themes and messages imo. I haven't read anything else from Ira Levin but I've always wanted to read Rosemary's Baby.
It sounds like a great book haul! I listened to your extreme horror book video recently and I'm like SO damn curious but at the same time I want to protect my brain. I definitely watch things I regret but haven't ever read things I regret lol. I did buy Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates since you recommended it. I look forward to reading it. I hope you feel better!
Fun fact: Off Season is actually loosely inspired by the Scottish cannibal Sawney Bean and his inbred family/ clan. Much of the legends are hearsay but it's a cool wee legend passed around our isles which has inspired countless other works including The Hills Have Eyes.
Thanks for letting me know! I've gotten a few comments about the audio but it sounded fine when editing. This is super helpful. I'll fix it soon. Thanks!
You need to watch the movie version of green mile Michael Clark Duncan, and Tom Hanks are awesome in that movie and he will cry, you’ll probably cry from reading the book too
The green mile is one of my favourite books of all time.
Discovering Scarfolk is such a unique read. I loved it!
Great book. I'm reading Rage currently, didn't know it was banned and it intrigued the hell outta me.
Thanks for the info! Glad I don't have to buy six separate books plus this one. I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. I'm excited to read it.
Reading with Meg is really cool! That's a fun shirt. Hope you get better soon Anda. Off Season is a really good book. It gets pretty dark.
Off season is Amazing! Skeleton Crew is my favorite collection of King's short stories. And Green Mile is fantastic also! Looking forward to seeing your reactions to those!!! Feel better soon!
Off Season is awesome! I read through it in 2 sittings. Not long and very fast paced. Awesome haul!
“Off Season” was a good book.
Off season and offspring were good reads. They were my first "extreme horror" books.

Love the fall haul! Feel better soon!
I read Off Season years ago. It haunted me for years. Have fun. And Home Before Dark is just great fun.
I was planning to read Crime and Punishment first but this comment has inspired me to read Notes from the Underground. Thanks for the info!
Loved home before dark.
The scarfolk books are really fun.
It looks so interesting! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll have to read it soon.

So, thanks!
The Green Mile was originally serialized for radio. The separate parts are just the book you had in the video, so that’s the whole text.
I LOVE Reading with Meg! If y'all aren't familiar please go watch her, she is a doll! (a sassy one 😆) If you love Anda, you'll love her! She occasionally does regular horror and thriller content in addition to her extreme horror vlogs and reviews.

She's the best!
Hope you feel better! Just got Off Season on kindle a week ago. Some cannibal fun stuff!
Feel better soon!!
Off season has a sequel to it called offspring by Jack Ketchum. I am reading Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine in which season 12 of American Horror Story is based on
Thanks for letting me know! If I enjoy this one, I'll be sure to pick up the next.
Green Mile had me weeping 😢
I'll have to prepare myself before reading that one
Come With Me is fantastic. I read Black Mouth first and loved it, read Come With Me shortly after and it didn't disappoint me. I've read about 5 of Ronald Malfi's books so far and those two are easily my favorites so far. The Stepford Wives is also great!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I was worried Black Mouth would make all others pale in comparison. I'm definitely planning on reading it soon.
Off season was so good! I really think that someone should make a film adaptation of it.. Ketchum's writing is so vivid.. I could visualize everything! Definitely a crazy story!!
I'm excited to read it! I enjoyed his writing style in The Girl Next Door, just not the subject matter.
Green mile movie broke my heart
"Survivor's Tale" is one of my favorites from Mr King. I honestly feel like Skeleton Crew was full of bangers and has no equal
*Edit* I effed up the title of the story; as has been kindly pointed out. It's actually called 'Survivor Type'.

@@angelwalker979 sonovagun you're totally right!
Well! Guess it's due time I reread the damn thing.
@bassgod47 🤣🤣😂 as I just told Anda, I have re read those stories so many times! My paperback is falling apart 😄
This story is the reason I bought the book!
@AndaKent I thought so 🤓. You will love it! There are alot of good stories in there! Happy reading! xx
Let’s burn this place to the ground and bring out the pumpkins 👏🏻
Thanks for the sweatshirt shoutout you’re literally the best 😭
I will be wearing it all fall long!
Crime and Punishment is a top five novel for me.
Love the Alice Cooper shirt 👍

Offspring and The Woman go with Off Season, they of made movies (Off Season, Offspring, The Woman and Darlin`) from the books. feel better.
Ken Kesey wrote One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. ✌️😎
omg Home Before Dark is so good!! So far I've read that, and Lock Every Door (loved it), and The Last Time I Lied (bit wild at the end, another banger!) 😁

Just finished Off Season. Like you, the only other Ketchum book I've read is The Girl Next Door. Excited to hear your thoughts!
I hope it's not as hard to get through as The Girl Next Door!
In the Uk Ewan is pronouced the same as Euan. Just found your channel and love your videos so far 🖤
The green mile was originally released in a magazine then it was released as the smaller books and then was later put into one book. It’s all the same thing. Hope you feel better! I’m also under the weather today lol

That last line 😂😂😂. Books are addicting. And, unfortunately, so is book shopping. Happy reading!
Get well soon Anda 🎃😊❤️
I hope we will get to hear energetic lovely “HELLO CREEPS”🖐🏼 in next video
Love Skeleton Crew! The Stepford Wives by Ira (eye)ra Levin is so good! I reread it recently and it kind of holds up considering the conservative attitude gov has about women. You got a great bunch of books. Happy reading.

Did you change your channel name?
The shirts awesome
ken kessey! one flew over the cuckoos nest
Dead of Winter is definitely a fun one! Bloodier than Darcy Coates other books but nothing too crazy. I hope you enjoy it!
I’m about to dive into horror novel The Militia House by John Milas. Has it been on anyones radar?
People who put stickers over the synopsis should be rolled in honey and dropped on an ant hill.
😂
Fun fact: Off Season is actually loosely inspired by the Scottish cannibal Sawney Bean and his inbred family/ clan.
Much of the legends are hearsay but it's a cool wee legend passed around our isles which has inspired countless other works including The Hills Have Eyes.
This is so interesting. Thanks for the info! I'm going to see if I can find some more info online.
Your videos are so quiet that when the ad comes on, it's blasting 😭
Thanks for letting me know! I've gotten a few comments about the audio but it sounded fine when editing. This is super helpful. I'll fix it soon. Thanks!
You need to watch the movie version of green mile Michael Clark Duncan, and Tom Hanks are awesome in that movie and he will cry, you’ll probably cry from reading the book too
I'll definitely watch it after I read the book. Thanks for the suggestion!
Has she ever done a full book tour?
This was the video I was planning to make today instead of the haul. Hopefully I can get it up within the next week or two.
Good grief, great Stephen King books. Both of them.
Alice Cooper just released a new album.
Ira Levin...pronounced Eye-ra not Ear-ra!
Too hot for that hat here.
I hope this is poor timing on the Alice Cooper shirt and not an endorsement of all the repugnant shit he's been saying.
This video was filmed prior to anything being said. I hadn't heard anything until I received a few comments and looked into it.
It's a shame Alice Cooper has gone down the transphobic "gender critical" route.
I haven't heard anything about this. I'll have to do some research now.
