Did you use teflon hose? You will still have high oil temperature with the current install location. The oil cooler fan does not : Have access to the volume of cooler air at a fast enough rate to reduce the finned heat exchanger at temperature at a reasonable efficient to reduce oil temperature. The heat that is radiated from the finned heat exchanger will be somewhat stagnant inside thr spare tire holder. Ideas: 1-Cut a hole in the spare tire holder, mount the cooler so the fan is outside the spare tire holder. Flip the cooler over, use metal spacers to mount the cooler to the spare tire holder wth the fan protruding through the spare tire holder. Fan would have access to outside air volume, wire fan to operate as puller. 2- Forget about the using the spare tire holder, mount the cooler under the back. That's what I did on my C4. I'll send you some pictures for examples.
