    This is EXACTLY what I needed to see! Trying to decide on a machine that will do at least 4 layers of vinyl and it looks like this could! Thank you so much for your video.

    I have owned a Brother PQ1500S for about 17 years. This machine has never failed me in sewing anything I have put under his presser feet. I recommend it to everyone.

    I love, Love, Love your video! I too just purchased the PQ1500SL and this video is the only one to demonstrated sewing layers. Most, if not all videos for the PQ1500Sl are copies from one another, unboxing, what is in the box, how to thread, etc… Your demonstration right on target. Didn’t have to wait for hours or till the end of the video to see you sew those layers! Also, your concept and RUclips channel name is absolutely awesome. Happy to found your channel. Absolutely I subscribed. Keep the videos coming!😎

      @@thebagladystudio You’re so welcome. Yeah, I too love this sewing machine. For the price when comparing to other brands, it can’t be beat! It is a work horse. Try sewing on a thick leather belt, AMAZING (I used a leather needle and stitch length between 4 and 5). And it is gentle on light and stretchy fabrics as well. I never made a quilt in my freaking life but did it on the this sewing machine. It is a quilt blanket, 70” x 90”. A lot of mistakes putting this quilt together. But, the sewing machine handle it beautifully.
      The only drawback for me is the auto threader and auto down needle. The auto threader is the worst I have ever seen. And the needle down selection only works after you starting sewing. But, that is the only two things I distaste on the Brother PQ1500SL. Everything else is a gem 👍!
      Can you please show some sceneries when traveling in your RV in future videos. My partner and I been dying for a RV. For my bucket list this may be a possibility after he retires🙏. If so, you gave me thoughts about taking my sewing machines with us 🤗.

      @@LouRao I have not purchased a straight stitch machine yet but regarding the auto threader are you using this feature when the presser foot is down? It Hass to be down. I have watched God knows how many videos on several models and that is the common complaint is that people forget to put the presser foot down when using that feature. I have right now a singer quantum stylist and I almost never get that auto threader working properly.

    @md2992 Год назад

    Thank you for your video. I know it's been 8 months, so I'm late. But your first skipped stitch happened because your thread was not in the guide, and you should have used a hump Jumper to level your foot with the fabric. You could have also held the thread tails before sewing. But the stitches still looked wonderful, and that's why I love my Brother 1500sl

    Thicker layers need longer stitch lengths to fit through no matter the power of the machine or the condition of the needle.

  • @dcwatashi
    @dcwatashi 2 года назад +1

    I somehow stumbled onto this machine while doing my research for purchasing either the Janome HD 9 or the Juki TL 18 QVP
    In fairness I think you should have started with a brand new needle. But also you didn’t mention what size needle you had in the machine and I know this wasn’t a full review but what I found interesting about this particular model is the different levels of control with the feed dogs. I might have to search for another video showing how that works
    Right now this machine is about half price of what those other two are. Have you had to take it in for maintenance?

    • @thebagladystudio
      @thebagladystudio  2 года назад +3

      I love this machine. I was using a size 14 needle. I have not had to service it yet and so far it has pretty much done everything I have asked. The ONLY time it struggled was topstitching over 2 layers of leather and 2 layers of vinyl together but that was my fault for not thinning down the leather on the edges. Machine shopping can be tough. There are so many options. I absolutely love this machine though and do not regret buying it. My next addition at some point though will be a cylinder arm industrial. I like to sew small bags and topstitching can be a but tough if you make a mini bag. Normal size bags are not a problem though. Thanks for watching.

    I never change my needles until they break aaaaahahaha! How about blue jeans. That's what I seem to always break my needles on lol. Oh maybe you should make some purses with some denim. That would be cute! I think patchwork quilt looking would be awesome and with some denim patches thrown in. Oh one of those little wristlets with patchwork look would be super cute.
