I liked the battery tray system very secure. The wiring is very tight and precise. I ran it along the bottom. Also some wires were ran along the top and down along side the front tail case. If I still owned the 2 I had I would show it. But to each their own😉
It’s an awesome flying helicopter in very robust and you can tell it will take an impact extremely well. But, they could’ve definitely giving you better areas to run your wires. I have mine all ran inside the frame, but there’s still is very little room. Mounting It’s an awesome flying helicopter and very robust and you can tell it will take an impact extremely well. Low RPM head speed sounds great! The blade chop alone is where it’s at! Also takes a lot more collective control to not stall the head. Thank you for watching!
Jeff, congratulations 🎈 on yet another successful maiden flight. Just to let you know your flying videos sound amazing 🤩 using headphones 🎧 at work 👍🏻.
I built mine for 8S3800. I settled on 580U blades. Not a fan of the battery tray either, and also find compared to other models it's tail heavy. I needed to run the 8S3800 so far forward the canopy could barely latch. I wound up changing to 7S5000 packs to clear the canopy. Just not much to say for the battery bay in general. But, it's a terrific helicopter. Extremely smooth mechanics in my case.
It is a fantastic flying helicopter. I think the lightest 600 that I have built or flown. I need to get an exact weight. You can tell in the air that it is just precise in rocksolid! Even running low head speed. It didn’t feel heavy at all or sluggish. Mine is not till heavy because I am running 12s but I could definitely see that anything under that it would be. The battery trade is the worst part of the helicopter in my opinion. I wish they did a tail style but you get used to it I guess lol.
When I rewire the helicopter, I am definitely putting the FBL on the bottom. There is more room, I thought about putting it there, but I wasn’t sure which way would be best. Its a very secure tray and works great but just seems old-school in my opinion.
Thank you! I appreciate that, I try to give videos all year round, no matter white, and sometimes I film a bunch at a time so when the weather is bad, you always have videos to watch!
Great flying heli. Odd tail grip depth forcing one to use short root blades only. Built like a tank. So so tail. Yup.. 100% the tray and wiring were poor. Also had to move the right side canopy mount as as the canopy hit the servo. I kept my logos in the end and sold this. I fly lhs and chill lame flights so don't need a super head speed heli. Oxy charges a premium foe their helis so I don't accept problems like this.
I didn’t run into any of those issues. I also bought the helicopter used and did not build it from the kit. Canopy is super thin and I had to lay carbon fiber to strengthen it, which is not cool for the price that they charge. The battery tray and wiring is the worst part of the kit I think.
Question, I`m sorta new to Helicopters with FBL systems like yours, is the Vbar FBL system the reason your heli is so stable and solid in flight and hands-off? Thanks!
A perfectly set up helicopter is the reason mine are so stable. The Vbar is definitely a solid FBL but I also run iKon and the helis are just as solid. Making sure your helicopter is built properly, level swash plate, balance properly, all contribute to a perfect flying machine and a solid machine.
I’m loving V bar! I honestly wish I made the switch years ago. A lot better than iKon, Heli feels so much better in the air. But! I won’t stop posting iKon videos and such for everyone. They have been on a back order and supply and demand. They cannot keep up with since Covid.
Great knowledge and advice from you Jeff as always. Question, I fly a ix12 and HATE it and want to get something else. Don't know much about flybarless systems yet as I'm coming from flybar machine days lol. Is the Vcontrol and Vbar the best way to go? I was looking at the RadioMasterTX16Smk2 and wondering what your thoughts are about it? Does it work with Vbar systems? Thanks
@@robwagner4615 thank you! I greatly appreciate that. The IX12 is a great radio (at least mine is) it’s definitely slow to boot up and when changing modes but I keep it on sleep mode and it comes on in 2 seconds. Vcontorl is the easiest system on the market and they are the pioneer in FBL systems. They are a little pricey but worth every penny. If you want to stay spektrum then get the IX14. Night and day faster and smoother then the IX12. I sold my IX12 when I got my IX14. the TX16S is a good radio but it’s a steep learning curve. I have two of them and had some issues and just don’t trust there radios to fly these helis. I know some guys do but I just can’t. My opinion is either get a Vcontrol/Vbar setup or IX14/iKon setup. You can use a DSMX satellite with Vbar but in all honesty using anything but a Vcontorl with Vbar is pointless.
It’s a great flying heli, super light and powerful on 12s. Battery tray definitely sucks and takes some getting use to. Two 6s 4000mAh packs should fit just fine. Nothing bigger. Frame is very narrow.
I pray luca gets better, the heli community needs him
I hope so! OXY makes great Heli.

You can run the wires inside the frame. Makes it look clean. Yes, it's tail heavy.
I have mine ran inside the frame but coming up to the FBL it’s hard to make it look good with out cutting and shorting (witch I will do)
That 600-700 size, low rpm head speed just sounds money. Hopefully I'll have the guts and skill to fly then one day. Great video Jeff, thanks.

I always enjoy your videos. I can’t wait to fly . The weather here in NY been some snow and in the 30s
Here in New Orleans it’s in the 70s,you can have all that snow and the cold weather, lol

@@glenn4452lol thanks . Soon I’ll be getting out of NY going south .
when is the Vbar setup coming :D
For this particular helicopter or just in general? I already have a few videos out on set up telemetry and I am posting a governor set up very soon.

Thank you for your advice, believe me, I`m trying to do this right now with the MicrobeastX Plus V.5.4@@westhobbiesrc8051
Make no mistake bobbylana, it's around 30% machine and 70% man. This is one tricky hobby to master.😅
You are really liking the vbar, huh? Better than the ikon? My issue with v bar is that you can't find the controllers when you need them.

Any plans for a guide to vbar? I enjoyed watching your videos on setting up ikon. Trying out v bar now and struggling with some things.

I just bought one of these.... and then this video come out, other than the battery tray what else can I expect? Will it take 6s 4000 x2?

Oxy is more a full fledge race car, goblin is more of a ferrari with leather seats and what not
That is a great way to put it. You can tell the OXY is built like a tank and can some abuse.
