I would honestly not have the RGBs running really often, but for notifying that a window is open or things like that, that's awesome !🙌

These could be great for accessibility (for example make them flash when the door bell rings for Deaf people). Typical “accessible” devices targeted at people with disabilities are usually stupidly expensive due to the market so this could save them a lot of money!

Hi could you please tell me if you ever made a video for the flashing of the sonoff TX ultimate switch, with the flashed ESP home assistant integration would love to be able to control the RGB lights to control certain scenes or automation's which i cant currently do through the we-link app. If you have please can you advise me of the process to make this happen and put it in really simply terms as i am a total beginner to the home assistant world. Many thanks Mark.

I have the older light switches and flashed them with esphome, I did set the buttons to only switch the relay when it is pressed for less than 1sec. This way you will always have local control (on the light switch) of the light. But then if you do a long press you can run a different automation via home assistant. Its like having remote controls all over the house.
I use it for “away mode”, toggle other lights in the room. Switch off all lights in the house and so on.

I've been looking for something like this but with a more physical touch.
After using both Shelly Wall Switches and NS Panels, I would like to go back to big physical buttons.
However, I would love to keep 2 features: the LEDs on the sides (more to have some visual feedback and specially to have them dimmed at night, to make it easier to find the switches) and the touch capability on swipes only, to use to regulate stuff like light intensity.

I got 15 TXs around my house. Used to the small push target now and it's also illuminated which is nice. This would be a definite improvement but don't feel like splurging once more at this stage.
Maybe just for the kids rooms for the mic/speaker functionality.
You made no mention of the gesture possibilities which is what I'd actually love to have especially to do things like dimming and/or scenes
I should add that while I got both Sonoff and Shelly products, I've had to replace all my 20 shelly 2.5's while all the sonoffs have worked flawlessly. Quite sad as Shelly is a bit better for DIY.
Also would love if Sonoff had the pins on the GPIO and not just holes 😅

I can understand maybe using the LED's as indicators, like alarm indicators, or "It's time to take the bins out" but I think most of the time I would have them off. It's a light switch. It doesn't need to be dancing around LED's on the wall.

I have made a custom esphome integration with entity events for my TX Ultimate to meet my needs
Double touch on any switch will invert the relays (in case my HA server is down, I can still control the lights) and trigger two small vibrations and a yellow light below the touched switch
Simple touch will on/off the corresponding hue light bulbs (but not through relay) with a small vibration and a low brightness blue light below the touched switch
Long press will trigger scenes with a longer vibration and a green light below the switch
Swipe left will turn off all the lights in the kitchen & living room (with a short pulsing light on the left side of the TX Ultimate)
Swipe right will turn on all the lights in the kitchen & living room (with a short pulsing light on the right side of the TX Ultimate)
I would have loved to have a continuous detection of the touched positions (it only send position on press/release), as well as multi touch with positions (it only says multi touch, it doesn't says wchich positions are touched) and a vertical axis position (we only have horizontal)

I think Sonoff have missed a trick by not doing physical switches in this style.
They could have swappable face plates to fit the design of a room and have the functions of the sonoff mini without the faff.
Most people use sonoff minis/shellies bc they want a physical switch.
I dont understand why no one seems to have made a physical switch smart switch. It seems so obvious.
