From what I understood, Thomas Cromwell’s biographer found no evidence of this. I agree that Cromwell saw Anne Boleyn as an enemy. Ultimately, it was Henry who wanted to get rid of Anne to marry Jane. Cromwell happily followed orders. Eustace Chapuys who was no fan of Anne Boleyn, said that the charges against Anne were false. That trial was a huge miscarriage of justice perpetrated by Henry himself. The dates of the “affairs” did not match up. As I understand, more people were not convinced by these charges. They just couldn’t speak up otherwise, they may lose their heads too. Once she was executed most people knew that an innocent woman was executed. Henry’s haste In marrying Jane Seymour was distasteful in court and throughout the world.

Karma came for him. His execution was botched. He helped Henry erase Anne but it was all for not. Elizabeth I became England’s greatest monarch. Queen Elizabeth II is a decedent of Mary Boleyn. William and Harry are decedents of Mary Boleyn from both of their mothers and grandmother. You gotta love karma.

Cromwell was certainly Henry’s man, but he also needed to checkmate his sworn enemy, Thomas Howard, Duke of Norfolk and Anne’s uncle. That meant making sure the Howard family lost any influence on Henry. Ann was collateral damage. She’d had priests condemning Cromwell, she wanted to support colleges with the money from the monasteries but Cromwell and Henry were making too much money to give that up. And the Duke of Norfolk had promised to crush Cromwell . No, Cromwell had all the motivation in the world to make sure Anne died.

I dont think Anne had done what she was accused for, but I think it was the only way Cromwell could save his own neck, and by playing what made the King most furius, he had to walk the line with lies and evil accusations.
Anne was not kind, she was an oppertunist to the core, and she was to blame for Catherine of Aragons sad destiny, so I think Anne in the end got what she gave, Cromwell was just the tool to let it happen.
I have never seen their marriage as a love story, I think it was a naive passioned King, who simply took what pleased him, and Anne was the right pick, because her goals were status and titles.
She had the King in waiting because he desired her, and she knew that, the same old story played out through history.
Anne was to smart to make mistakes, but she was not aware of Cromwell deep hate for her, and that ended her life. She was educated and had good manners, but her lust for power and influence, gave her goals away, because she ignored her enemies, and that was the fuel they needed to make a deadly fire.....

I too believe Cromwell could not have brought Anne down without the Kings cooperation and consent. I am in no doubt that Henry resented Anne's interference in his policies and the fact that she hadn't given birth to a longed-for son, compounded his resentment.
There is an error in the narration. The May Day Joust was held on 1 May not as stated the first day of March 1536.

Anne’s mistake was in thinking her hold on the King was solid. She was mistaken in overestimating her hold of love she held over him.Exactly, she was totally not stupid enough to risk any scandal of adultery she might have done. She was very experienced in the manipulations, gossip and political diabolical machinations and self serving that existed in the court atmosphere. She was a member of the French court for a long time. She underestimated Henry’s disloyalty and how selfish and self serving he set forth in his motives for a son. The betrayal, sense of being thrown away like trash, the lies and conspiracy against her, and need to wipe away her existence through the worst means trumped up must have made her almost hysterical inside her… that was mean and monstrous , what he did by insisting she die, and killing three more innocents with her do that Cromwells lies would have credibility. What a heartless gang of egomaniacs!

Mark Smeaton was never the queens musician, he was the kings musician and lived in the kings household. Anne was never alone with him anywhere any time and the one time he played for her in her bedroom there were many other visitors present and the king was in his chamber below.......but Smeaton did try to worm his way into the queen's inner circle but was rebuffed by Anne.

From the minute Catherine died Anne came under increasing pressure to produce a son. High-strung and insecure, she seemed unable to control her jealousy or temper. Her husband had his eye on other women and when Anne, looking to shore up her confidence as a still-attractive woman, flirted publicly with members of the King’s inner circle, she gave Cromwell the evidence he needed. The King was in love with Jane Seymour. Anne had grown thin and worn-looking. Cromwell was entirely the King’s man and he hated the Howard family. The people had no love for Anne. Her trial was entirely corrupt and a foregone conclusion. Just another page in the horror story that was HENRY VII.

Did you know Jane’s brother Thomas married Henry’s last wife , Catherine Parr who also died in childbirth. I don’t blame Elizabeth for wisely never getting married. It is my theory she wanted to end the Tudor line to spite her father who had her mother killed for failing to produce a male heir.

Cromwell might have done away with Queen Anne, but then after Anne of Cleaves, Thomas Cromwell lost his head in a most horrific manner, the executioner botched it badly. And a few hundred years later his descendent got the family's revenge upon a King. Oliver Cromwell having King Charles I executed for his suppose treason against the people of England. Then Cromwell enforced the beliefs he held dear on all the people until they truly hated him and wanted a true King to rule over them once again.

I think that we make too many assumptions about Anne Boleyn’s personal motivations.
Did she really *want* to be Queen. How can we *know* the inner feelings of someone whom we have never met/
Of course it’s fun to speculate, but to assume… well we should know what that leads to.
I for one given her situation may not have acted too dissimilarly.
A young woman in love with someone else, bright, would I be really interested in launching myself into that hot mess of Hernry’s court?
I’d hold off as long as possible too, despite pressure from my family and flattering gifts.
Then having been pressured into that life unasked for, I’d damn well try to make the best of it, and be furious if, after all that, I was then discounted and fobbed off by my so called husband! ‘Unqueenly’, wouldn’t come close!’
Sometimes I just wish we would try to see though someone else’s eyes. Times change, people don’t.

Nothing. Justice is not served. It’s nice to believe that, but in reality, some people just get away with treating people so cruelly in life, and their victims lived with torment until their final breath. It is truly tragic, but we can be thankful that enough people felt empathy to not allow such terrible actions to take place again. It is no longer common practice is what I’m trying to say.
