Been a car nut all my life. Been a bodyman/ painter since I was 15. Love muscle cars. Owner of a bodyshop fourteen years. Never a big fan of Mopars, But this Guy Mark Worman is my Hero. He has accomplished every carnut's dream, doing what he loves and doing it so successfully due to his dedication. I love this show. It's not a propped up hoax show alot.of the others. Just wish he loved Chevrolets as much as Mopars. But I have a greater appreciation of Mopar with every episode. You the Man Mark. You keep me laughing. You go boy.
My dad grew up in this era... He told me that Chrysler products back in the day. Their quality control sucked.. Windows rattling off showroom floor.. Engine smoke.... Leak oil... Body gaps.... Your mopar fans are LOVING you!! You are building Chrysler car better than they did!!!
That shop and floor reminds me of one I worked in years ago, had to put heavy rubber mats around a car before grinding or welding. That's the same shop where I met the painter, and right off he tells me in a week I'll be working for him and washing his car because he'll be correcting all my metalwork! So...after that first full pay period he comes up and says, "I owe you an apology, your work is so straight and true I didn't have to do anything but scuff and shoot, I ain't never made so much money in my life!" He added, if there's anything you need you only have to ask... I needed my car washed and that's what he did...
one of my first jobs was at an Automotive Paint Supplier (of almost that name) this was just before it was computerised ,everything was on micro fiche from all the different paint manufacturers including PPG and I used to love matching old paint ,so watching Mark do spray outs and tinting to match reminded me of many restorations I had a hand in where I would get given a sample of the original and spend hours matching it under as many different light sources as possible . Shame the job didn't pay enough to stay
I've seen a lot of episodes of Graveyard Carz but, I just watched this one here on RUclips and I sincerely appreciate everything that was done in this episode. I only wish that I had a classic car that could be shown this level of attention.
Your knowledge with paint is absolutely phenomenal, all your work is .....but paint is key and critical. You are truly living the dream, keep up the fantastic videos , watching here in the u.k.
It's great to know that you in the UK also love old American muscle! Here is a rod bit I drive the same kind of car that SIR Paul McCartney drives while he is in the states! A C-5 Corvette! Makes me proud

So glad that I came across your video. I'm a REAL OLD 'gear head' from the 50s/60s. I got a kick out of you talking about the Hemies. Your so right. The '57/58' 392 Hemies were tearing up the drag strips in the early 60s. With TorqFlyte push button trans. By dumb luck, I saw Don Garlits break 200 mph at Island Dragway in northern NJ back in the very early 60s. With a 392 Hemie in his 'Winds Jammer 1' dragster. Thanks again for your workmanship on these classic Mopars.
I can remember the first time I was fortunate to gaze upon a 426 Hemi. It was at Island Dragan in New Jersey in 1968. It was in a Plymouth Road Runner. I was just in awe of how massive it was.
You're not supposed to rotate a crankshaft in the block until after the main caps are torqued. When they are line bored, they are done with the caps torqued, so when there is no cap in place the block is not actually round and can you score a bearing before the engine ever turns over.
You had me ROOOOLLLLING when you said he painted Great but ,, YOU ARE A GREAT PAINTER !! THANK YOU !! THAT WAS GREAT !!!! I LOVE YOUR SHOWS !!!!!! And the BOSS IS GREAT !!!! Along with being a GREAT PAINTER !!
You should ALWAYS hook up there positive cable to the battery first and then the negative cable second. Doing it the way Dave did can cause sparking which can possibly ignite the vapors from the battery. And also when disconnecting the cables from there battery disconnect the negative first
I swear this dude buffing the car acts like a son to him lol he loves the honesty of the kid tho and I bet that’s why he still has a job gotta have someone to joke around with
Next time you have a stuck engine....Use Oil of Wintergreen on all pistons....wrap the area in a blanket with mild heat. Come back daily and add more wintergreen oil after a few days itll break.
You guys do great work well actually amazing work I love how you're right on the specs with everything now if I have the money that's where I would want to go definitely your shop to do the restoration but I'm a poor guy so but great job guys amazing work
Love the fantastic attention to detail. Reminds me of boot camp in 89’ wonder how much it would cost me to have them build me a 1971 225 slant 6 barracuda I had in high school really miss that one. Like it better than my hellcat red eye
Re 1st starts or carb cars that have sat for years and where running and in otherwise reasonable condition when parked: Those tubes poking into the carb venturis are pipes directly to the float bowls. If you get a small funnel with a bit of vac tube pushed into the end and plug it on the vent tubes then one can fill the float bowls allowing the motor to run on both carbs until the main pump takes over. After pumping the carbs to prime the accelerator pumps, 3 full pumps from both carbs then start the car with the throttle closed. The low pressure depression created behind the throttle butterflies reduces the boiling point of the fuel and it vaporized creating a highly combustible gas so it should start easily. For starting if acc pumps don't work then WD40 works better for starting than pouring raw fuel in. Just crank it an spray it in. Unsure if it's combustible enough? Spray the can and put a lighter to it to see if I'm right or not.
So the front main cap has an F on it, telling you it goes in front. But which way does it face ? It can make a huge difference, Some have arrows on them some dont. Always mark the caps for direction and placement before disassembly of any engine that is unmarked.
If you have something stuck, drip oil of wintergreen on it, smells but frees it up, and for small priming, try the Rustoleum etching primer, great stuff and has decent building for a rattle can primer
Are you using wrinkle black paint on the hemi valve covers or the new wrinkle black powder coat? I wonder how that looks. Has to hold up better id think
Mark's advice of spinning the crank as you set the bearing caps is great/ there is a torque spec to reference this bind tolerance!I do it on my utube vids🐎🐎🐎👍👍

I'd love to have Mark n the ghouls do my '60 Fury but I ain't got the 6 figures it would take. It gonna get a '65 383, '68 A833-9B 4spd w/ hurst and a dana 60. It is a 2dr ht and it was ordered in '59 for delivery in '60. It was factory lightened and has fender mounted front turn signals that are the same as the '68 GTX. You have to be very well off to pay a shop like Wembley's to build your car.
Had a 69 burnt orange charger....318 auto...rusted up pretty bad...it went 120 mph flat out. When doing a burn out it would fill the whole car with smoke cause the trunk floor was gone. Had Grab n go tires......paid 500 bucks for it from the repo lot in 1975.... It got 1st place in the smash-up derby in 1982...prolly shouldn't have done that.
Love this show. I've always been into muscle cars. Mostly chevy. But never hated on ford or dodge ECT. But by far this is one of my favorite builds! Freaking beautiful
you showed nothing about the complete teardown of the engine, what was wrong with it, where and what was frozen, you showed nothing of the Machine shop work they did so that it could be completely rebuilt. The teardown was over and done with in 2 minutes and 5 seconds later everything was done and back to the shop. This should have been a two part episode where one was teardown and travel to the Machine shop and some of their work and then the second part should have been finishing the machining and reassembly of the engine including test stand break-in

The attention to detail Mark has with these cars with all the paint makings and number details is miles ahead of any other shop
Some shops, like Boyd Coddington and Chip Foose, are up there. They both had really good attention to detail.

What ever happened to Dave Rea I think was his name? Always did the final assembly. He was a great guy, now it's like a clown show.
Mark,
Your knowledge and expertise on these cars is second to none. Respect.
Personally I can do without the childish banter.

very much admire the devotion of this show to the Chrysler products.
You know what else used cross bolted main caps, the 427 side Oiler is like in the AC Cobra, they also had cross bolted, 6-bolt main caps
This is one of my favorites Thanks

The 426 is a 4 bolt main which helps when producing more power ❤ the wife and I have always been Mopar fans ❤
Making dreams come true 1 of 56 is very cool

No problem using mild steel brake lines, you can always replace them with stainless later when they rust through.
The Kings of Mo-Par!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool that they explain what they are doing
I didn't see any plastic gauge on the bearings, was it done before the video shoot???

What season/episode is this? Not sure why its not in the description.
Is there any rules with rings on fingers in this workshop ?
that is only a two-bolt main until you see the side bolts. worked on one once that they forgot the side bolts, what a mess.
There is no better way on earth to guarantee that the frame of a car will rust than to undercoat it.
No plasti-gauge to check main bearing tolerance?
Plasti-gauge? Really Hoss? Real car builders use micrometers. Plasti-gauge is for amateurs and wannabe's.

Are you sure it's only 10 coats?
I thought you were gonna show how you got the hemi unfrozen and rebuilt.. oh well.. there are other tube videos..
All the bushes in the alternator
I wish these guys would do a restored car of your choice giveaway, I wouldn't even care if it was a clone👍
Why didn't you paint the interior of the car?
I'm trying to help, it's called a bearing-TANG.
Until it doesn’t work. A ground mounted RTU with duct work would’ve been a lot better.

You should "not" just let it Idle upon initial start up, unless it has roller lifters !
Another story of a man who had a car that had "sentimental value" but let it rot into the ground because; that's what you do to things you love.
