      Some people say ahole, but the guy came from so little and reached for the sky and grabbed a huge chunk of sun. Man, no wonder he was so successful. His charisma and attention to comedy was a monster leap from what he was in his first films. Watching him in the Pumping Iron movie how he intimidated the other contestants and playing the alpha role was priceless. He wanted to win at everything. Who can hate him for that? His character wasn't really showcased until later movies, but he always had it. Awesome interview, great UL. Thanks for sharing, Michael Seven

    2. Even the host saying that he has a feeling that Arnold is going to try something different, truly shows that once the trust is built, people starts trusting you forever......Again and again.......Also expectations are set very high from then onwards.......But, first of all, building a trust is extremely important !!!👍👍

Needless to say I never took that polygraph nor did I get that job, but I did get to see Dave at his NBC original studio with Larry Budmelmin , Chris Elliot making his usual appearance out of the studio audience staircase, Paul Schaffer band along with Arnold . I remember reading an magazine interview with him right around the time of Conan. He said he'd be more popular than Bronson, Eastwood, or any other action movie hero of the era. His confidence (arrogance?) was over the top. I thought to myself, "Sure, how many other roles can there be for a massive bodybuilder with minimal dialogue? This guy's in for a rude awakening." How wrong I was.

    • @Noname-rj6gw
      @Noname-rj6gw Год назад

      People will say that is his arrogance but in order to succeed you must have that attitude and self belief. Only if you believe in yourself so much you will push yourself again and again after every failure until you finally find the way. Those who don't have that, give up very quickly.

    • @shredd5705
      @shredd5705 Год назад

      @@Noname-rj6gw His arrogance only works because of the body building thing. He's like a comic book character. People expect him to be arrogant and smoke a huge cigar, that became his trademark, it fits perfectly with his comic book superhero body. Without the monstrous body (at the time, not compared to modern bodybuilders) he wouldn't have been able to talk like this, he would have been booed at
      Yes you gotta trust yourself and have big self confidence, but you're never supposed to say it aloud like that. Don't try to copy his social behavior, if you want people to like you. It only worked because he was 7 times Mr. Olympia, and famous for these "unstoppable man" roles
