As a grown man I cry to this scene…phenomenal acting by Cher. Last year I decided to take a trip to Utah for 2 weeks. I live in Louisiana and hardly take trips that far away. I am a grown man and was still living with my Mother because of getting back on online school. She was so happy for me…but when we got to the airport she immediately started crying and held me hard…as if I was leaving for good. Every single night she would call me and cry like Cher does here and kept telling me that the house is quiet and I am not there. I urged her to go on the trip with me but she wanted the trip to be my thing. This scene reminds me of that…I love my Mother so much.
Man, Cher is a Phenomenal Actress!!! The way to performed as Rusty, you believe every scene and every minute of the movie that she’s being Rusty Dennis. And it’s great that she knew the real Rusty Dennis and got to know her when she was filming “Mask”
Cher deserved an Oscar for this role! Sure she got one for Moonstruck, but that performance wasn't in the same league. Maybe the academy realised they fcked up and tried to rectify the mistake of not even nominating her for Mask. All actors were great in Mask but to me Cher's performance stands out. You can really feel the struggle, the pain and her love for Rocky.
Such an intense scene... the way Gar turns and looks at Rusty, realizing she's both high and hysterical, then stops writing and comforts her. And the fact that Rusty is high and hysterical doesn't change the strength of her connection to Rocky. Sam Elliot and Cher were amazing in this movie.
Well...not fully agree. She misses her boy especially..and no need to be High to react this way..I sometimes reacted like her ,cried like a baby and never been on drugs..She loves Rocky and he is away from her..
She's actually freaking out because she's Not high and needs him to know. When they pick him up from the camp that's the first thing she says to Rocky.
Yeah, he’s a terrible actor. Not in the moment at all. Cher’s bearing her soul, Elliot is perfect, & the cat, as usual, doesn’t care about anything. Just totally in his own world. Little freeloader!
Sam Elliott…the actor who play’s “Gar” in real life is a serious bigot…there are interviews where he claims in his own words “there are too many queer’s and steers in this World”. I am a homosexual…but regardless of him being a bigot…I still respect him as an actor and person. People have the right to think and feel the way they want to. Sam Elliott as an actor in general is phenomenal. 😎 …he and Tom Selleck both have the most legendary mustaches in Hollywood. I look like a complete @sshole with a mustache so I just keep a clean shave with a soul patch. 👓
@@itaughtjayzhowtorap148 I would like to agree with you…but bigots etc. do exist so how are they meaningless? …sure being a homophobe is pointless but some homophobes really make it hard on some homosexuals…therefore bigots can be very significant in a bad way to some homosexuals as they make them feel bad…me personally when a homophobe puts me down for being gay I just simply shrug it off…it is not always that easy for others.
She was one of the most underrated actresses in Hollywood.

Love the cat just chilling behind them on the kitchen top. 😁
I hadn’t noticed before! Really cool!

I love you, Cher
Sam Elliott's moustache had its own trailer.
It's hard to believe she's acting.
This breaks my heart
Shes having a nervous breakdown
