Roller Coaster Riders Stuck Upside Down for Nearly 4 Hours

- A day at Wisconsin’s Forest County festival turned terrifying when a ride trapped people upside down for nearly four hours. The passengers were stranded when the ride named Fireball stopped midair. The ride is supposed to strap riders in and go upside down in a giant circle but that came to an abrupt halt after a mechanical malfunction. It took first responders nearly two hours to start getting people off the ride. The last rider was finally brought to safety four hours after the ordeal began.
This is horrible. Being upside down for so long can cause many problems. I hope everybody recovers from this incident.

It’s the same story as aircraft, checks could have been done just days beforehand but the checks weren’t done to to currently applied standards, which leads to catastrophe. My money is on this being the same circumstance, the ride was not checked to the correct standard

This happened to me back in the 90s on the same ride. We were only stuck upside down for 45 minutes. It was still horrible, though.
Just watch the history of the Larson loop Apparently the computer models the carriage get parked upside down to keep it dry from elements when not in use

@@Joetoy90 It was pretty dang scary. I was pretty nauseous, dizzy, and had a horrible headache by the time it was over with. If it was like that for me after that (relatively) short time, I can't even imagine how much worse it was for these poor folks.
Terrible, I hope you sued and took legal actions, this is gross negligence.
I'll be scarred for life after that. I'm glad everybody survived.

The title of this video alone just gave me an adrenaline rush of anxiety. I could not imagine 4 hours going by and I’m upside down. I’d literally panic so hard. How did everyone make it out okay with all that blood rushing to their heads? Wow, thank God.

unless you have a bad diagnosis of high blood pressure, which you should not be allowed on with, otherwise youll have to hang upside down for 1-2 DAYS, so it is all perfectly safe, just scary

i would've lost my entire mind. i've been on a ride like this before and i felt like i was falling out of my seat every single time we went upside down. i can't imagine feeling that for 4 hours straight. i'm glad everyone is safe.

This is why I never go on mobile carnival rides like this. The chances of a malfunction seem to be higher than at a permanent park.
Finally someone with some logic they over exaggerating the story but it's a festival Carnival not permanent amusement park and also this is a flat ride not a roller coaster

I've stopped going on festival rides years ago because of things like this happening. I"m surprised people still go on festival rides.
Same, I remember one time, as a kid, my brother and I got stuck at the top of a farris wheel and I thought we'd be up there for the rest of our lives, lol. But we were able to get off after about an hour. I can't even imagine being stuck upside down for four hours. I have really bad acid reflux and I am sure I would have been throwing up upside down and that would be awful.

Because this isn’t fiction or movies. You can suspend inverted for up to day before starting to have health problems. Im sure they got dizzy and lightheaded, but that doesn’t kill you silly!

If you have a fear of roller coasters don’t worry. Let’s keep Im mind that technically this is not a roller coaster it’s a flat ride. And this is not an amusement park it’s a fair. A real roller coaster goes through many sessions of testing everyday before the park opens. You can not compare this to a park like cedar point or six flags, it’s a fair ride of course it broke down

Oh my God! This is why I always respected my children’s wishes whenever they declined to participate in amusement rides. My heart goes out to the traumatized riders. 😢

I’m sorry to correct this, but this is not a roller coaster, it is called a Larson Super Loop, which is a flat ride. Someone probably parked it upside down during the ride by accident and they couldn’t release it.

Dude, isn't this the LITERAL reason why people enjoy rides & roller coasters. The thrill of something going wrong but getting away with it. But when it actually goes wrong it's a disaster. Nah bro, that's the risk of the ride. Being in a position you're not suppsed to be in because of the danger. Wouldn't wish this on anyone but as humans we have to realize the inhumane situations we intentionally put ourselves in.
Great job my emergency crews. Very rare for things to malfunction even after inspection. I hope everyone heals. Seems like it would hurt your head.

That's actually horrible. I once sat in a car that simulated being upsidedown (after crashing and landing on its roof like some cars do). I sat like that for just a couple seconds and it was so uncomfortable... having all your blood rush to your head! I can't imagine 4 hours of it!

As a kid I always wanted to get stuck upside down as an adult it’s my worst fear

*Hanging upside down for such extended periods can cause physical damage, so I hope no one has future issues due to this. I was stuck....alone...in a stuck between floors elevator once, for 45 minutes. This is 1,000 times worse, I am quite sure. But may I say Well done to that little girl who was more concerned for the older gentleman.*

Wow, that n one came out of this with a brain aneurism is a miracle! Hanging upside down and having more blood compressed into your brain for so long is no joke. That's why they recommend that you don't hang upside down on those "spinal decompressors thingies" in the gym for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. And that's pushing it.
This lowkey reminds me of that scene in vacation.
But overall. Still a very scary situation to be in. Glad that everyone was ok at the end.

I got stuck on a log flume ride once when I was a kid. We just hopped out of the log and walked back to the ride entrance and told them what was going on. The worst part was the stairs to get off the flume were made of wood and there was water dripping on them, I slipped and wrenched my arms holding onto the railings, it could have been way worse.
That little girl who said take care of the older man first, she was sure raised right.
I know that I had to be a scary situation. That was very respectful of that little girl her parents should be very proud❤

You can’t get stuck upside down on a rollercoaster. Gravity will either take you forward or backwards and you would valley. Plus don’t ever get in a car again because you’re a million times fore likely to get hurt in a car.

@@LordRayken As unlikely as it is to occur, a rollercoaster would only need a slight push to fix. It certainly wouldn't take over 2 hours.

It's really bad for your heart to be upside down like that for so long. It has to pump that much harder to get blood to your extremities. Also, I'd be so traumatized by the incident that those first responders would have to take me to the nut house!
Thankfully no one was hurt or worse died. The little girl - brought up right, can be nothing but proud of her.
Just for clarification, this is NOT a roller coaster, but rather, a thrill ride. Regardless, I am hypothesizing the cause of the stall was due to one or more of the wheels that gave way, and consequently got jammed at an angle on the track.
This Larson Loop will no doubt be inspected for mechanical failure, and possible structural deficiencies.

They always always ALWAYS say that "the ride had just been inspected." ALWAYS!! Obviously it was not, or the inspector had their head up their you know what.
A ride being inspected doesn't release it from future sensor errors they engage the brake. Thats now how any of this works. 🤣🤣
