Recently became sliiightly obsessed with Theo after listening to TWO songs. Something about his voice, lyrics, and overall songwriting talent just gets me. So good. Btw...Those 2 songs were “Break Up Together (in the kitchen)” and “You Could Be President”. They’re still on repeat a month later. ♥️
I just listend to radio in the car the whole morning, autopitch and stuff, yakno..mainstream. And at home I switch over to Theo and got beamed into a completely differnt universe of REAL SOUND. So glad.
That's not that. 4-4 against 3-4 would be a polyrhythm. This is simply taking the downbeat of the snare and make it one per bar on the 3 instead of two per bar on the 2 and 4. I've been doing this for years and years as a drummer. It does give you the illusion that you're not totally un 4-4 and that you slowed down in you used it for a bridge etc in the 70's all prog and session bands used this trick. It's real easy. Just don't slow down, keep the same tempo, and the feel is much more relaxed and laid back, even tho you're still with the same click.
[Verse 1] Two sad people walk down the street ''Where we gonna sit down?'' ''Where we gonna eat?'' Two sad people don't have much to say Just ''How are you doing?'' or ''How was your day?'' No more sad, sad, sappy love songs About two sad people who can't get along I want a glad, glad, happy love song I'd even take a crappy love song like this one Two sad people don't let each other down You can't get much lower when you're on the ground Two sad people don't fuss or fight Just a ''Roll over honey.'' and ''Turn off the light.'' [Chorus] No more sad, sad, sappy love songs About two sad people who can't get along I want a glad, glad, happy love song I'd even take a crappy love song like this one [Verse 2] One sad person might cause a fuss Say something stupid and mess it all up Two sad people, that's a special thing They're both blind from the shine of the wedding ring Two sad people don't need to rush There's no need to hurry, nothing to discuss Two sad people, they can take their sweet time And just creep on up to that finish line No more sad, sad, sappy love songs About two sad people who can't get along I want a glad, glad, happy love song I'd even take a crappy love song like this one
people would like to know the names of band members. especially those that have a deep love for unknown studio players. especially if those same people do some occasional studio work too. please list them in the descriptions. :D
Amazing song. I love how that 3/4 bar kinda catches you off guard the first few times it hits. Which begs the question... Is this song written in 7 with a 3+4 grouping or 4+3?
3 + 4 at the verse and chorus and changes at the bridge with combination of both, like they started with 4 + 3 twice then at the end of the 2nd "3" they went [3 again + 4] + [4 +3] + [3 + 4] and so on :)
Kaspar Kalle the closest I heard it it goes. B flat major chord, c minor chord, E flat major chord, back down to the F major chord that's the simple form but experiment and style it to your preference to sound like this song 😄
going off of my admitedly imperfect ear you transition into the bridge from a Dmaj into Gmin-Cmin-Dmaj-D#maj7-Cmin-Dmaj-Gmin-D#maj-Fmaj then back into the verse/chorus.

I LOVE Joey's vocals but to my ear Theo is a 'complete' singer who has really explored the outer reaches of his range and talent. From a technical point of view he's basically flawless - the transitions, dynamics, falsetto & head voice like crystal, the blend with others, the rawness on tap - it's all there. Joey is great, but he stays in a comparatively narrow range and I have not yet heard him deliver a vocal 'on the edge' like a 4 tops - i'll be there kind of thing. That would really take things up a level for him in my mind. The great thing is you don't have to choose, the best sound of all is them singing together, the blend is SUBLIME. I will get my sht together and post a couple of highlights of them singing together from Joey supporting Vulpeck in London last year it was awesome.

Are you f*****g kidding me right now? I want him to be ultra-famous but at the same time my little secret. These Gulf dudes are ridiculously talented!

silasdc73 yes, yes he does
Sounds great as usual...close your eyes and I can totally hear Eric Hutchinson.
WTF? I didn't know theo had pipes like this. Why doesn't he sing in vulfpeck more?
Christmas in L.A.
He said "more."
Mark Smith so Christmas in L.A. is the reason why he doesnt sing more?
Nerolus he does. Back pocket, animal spirits, Christmas in l.a.. They like having people ft. in their songs.
Good musicians don't know how much to put in, they know how much to leave out.
Theo sounds a lot like Smokey Robinson. Amazing talent!
nice
4/4 - 3/4 gives this such a flow. Fucking love the breakdown on this version too

Bass - Lee Pardini
Keys - Joey Dosik
Drums - Abe Rounds(?)
It took me far too long to realise that this is in 7/4!
Amazing song. I love how that 3/4 bar kinda catches you off guard the first few times it hits. Which begs the question... Is this song written in 7 with a 3+4 grouping or 4+3?
I'd say 3 + 4 personally.

Can we get the lyrics please?
LEE EFFIN' PARDINI on bass!
could have been a Bob Dylan or Lake Street Dive song! sounds great
You're right, totally reminded me of LSD!
This song at a bar was the only component that made my recent Tinder-Date remotely cinematic. Love, love, love! (not for you Mark, though)
rip mark
Is that Lee on the bass? I can't tell
Can anyone tell me the chords please? (Not that good player myself to learn it by ear). Thanks! Theo is amazing

I don't like this. I LOVE IT!!
lyrics?
lovely music but i cant help but think he looks and dresses like a young trevor phillips from GTA V
Does anybody know which cord is Theo playing here: ruclips.net/video/_YyV0B_zys4/видео.html? So, just before he goes into D#.
mindfucked with that 7/4 signature
the face of a beautiful man 3:02
I love to hear the emotional side of Trevor from Grand Theft Auto 5
Is that a 335 or 339?
The jack socket's in the wrong place for a 339. Looks like a 335 to me.
Better singer: Theo or Joey? Hard to say.

I have your jacket, and I guess that's all I can have :/
ksini gara² pamungkas
Those 70's esque aviators don't help his balding head.
I spy a Lee Pardini....
