  • In this video, I show you how you can easily and quickly make wonderful jewelry using the mica powder painting technique.
    For the mica powder techniques, I recommend FIMO polymer clay, which preserves the colors and contours nicely. With Premo polymer clay, I found that the result is similar to the blurring of women's makeup... That's why I always use FIMO clay for mica powder.
    I hope you will be inspired to use this simple technique.
    Have a nice and creative day,
    Agi

    I have watched this video several times. I showed my mom. She use to make polymer clay jewelry back years ago. She felt the same way about this pendant.
    I have everything but the cool tool which I am ordering tonight.
    It’s just beautiful.
    Thank you

    • @aginekojewelry
      @aginekojewelry  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello, Thank you very much! 🥰 The fresh PREMO clay contains a lot of softening (oily) substances, which causes the colors of the mica powder to change slightly and become duller. That's why I tend to use FIMO clay for these projects. Of course, this is just my experience... 🙂

    Gorgeous work! What did you use on the texture mat as a clay release agent and what was the cloth or paper you covered the clay with when rolling it on the texture, please?
    Also, when you say that FIMO gives a better result than Premo clay for this technique, can you please be more specific about the differences in the results with FIMO versus Premo?
    Thanks very much!

    • @aginekojewelry
      @aginekojewelry  Год назад +1

      Thank you! 🙂
      In this video, I didn't use a clay release agent on the texture mat because the pattern wasn't very deep. But when the pattern is deep, I usually use baby powder (on the clay).
      I covered the clay with a cleaning wet cloth for rolling, the type is as follows:
      www.af-net.com/products/workspace-cleaning/mtw025p_mobile_technology_cleaning_wipes/
      You can use any other type of wet wipe. This way, the clay will not stick to the roller and you can make a nice print.
      FIMO vs Premo: In general, I prefer Premo, but I found that when using mica powder techniques, the colors turned out better on FIMO. There is still a lot of softening material in fresh Premo, which many people reduce by placing it on paper sheet. I think because of the softener, the colors of the mica powder don't stay as beautiful. It is possible that the mica powders behave differently on older Premo, since it is already harder. Perhaps that this is only my experience, and if the colors stay nice on your Premo, then continue to use it! 🙂
