    If the clay is crumbley I use baby oil, just a dab on the tip of my finger and it revives it. Cheaper way to color clay is chalk, works great and cheaper than mica. If you want to use a cookie cutter or knife and it sticks try rubbing a touch of corn starch on top and it will release easily. Just a few tricks and hints

      @hollylowery26 10 месяцев назад

      If you use mineral oil your clay won't smell like a baby's bottom. Definitely use a pipette and only a few drops. 3 drops is normal plenty for a 2 oz block. You can also dip your cutters into water and they won't stick. Corn starch works but can dry out your clay. Now is a fantastic time to buy chalk because the stores want to get rid of it untill next summer.

    The long ovals you put the uv resin on....looks like the melting clock. That would be interesting to see....to make a clock then stretch it to make it look like it's meeting.

    Great job Steve!!! Thanks for mentioning me!!! I much prefer resin to varnish also. If u get pieces too thick they sand easily so that's what I do when I get pieces a little too thick. Try the method of chopping a color up...adding acrylic paint to coat the pieces....adding some liquid clay then squish it all back together. Cut slices and roll out ....then cut ur pieces out and bake. These always turn out great. Get some translucent clay and have a play with alcohol inks with it. That always turns out well too. Also roll out some white clay...play with alcohol inks on the surface....then cut out ur pieces....always show stoppers.... especially if u add some metallic inks on there too!!

    Love any polymer clay tips! Very nice ideas here. You'd laugh if you say me now, as I've been sorting and repackaging my micas and glitters. My cat and I are both very sparkly, as are the curtains, the furniture and the air conditioner intake vent.😂😂😂

    Baby oil is nothing more than lightweight mineral oil with some fragrance added to it. Mineral oil is considerably cheaper.

    Steve your raindrop shaped earings are way to thick. You only need 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch for earings. You can use a lint free cotton square with nail polish remover on it to remove any finger prints from your clay. E6000 works great if you want to add earings posts. You may want to put your clay in a bowl or on a tray. If you warm it to much you will have clay that acts like soft serve ice-cream 🍦 The clay will cure at ~ 275° F or 130°C so anything lower than that will definitely soften your clay nicely 😉
