Instagram - AdamTheWooATW Had a blast at Lagoon . Didn’t know what to expect going but truly enjoyed it . The dark rides were amazingly weird and quirky
Those are the dark rides that i remember going on back in the day when we were kids. loved those. I'm talking 80s dark rides. I don't like roller coasters that make you feel like you're gonna fall off the ride though. Whoever i am there with would literally have to physically drag me on to get me to do those and i'm 48. Then once i'm on the coaster my eyes are closed the entire ride lol.🎢😱
Brings back great memories, when I was young in the early 1960's I lived about a block away from Lagoon and would go there often. I also took my kids there when they were young, now it's been about 15 years since I've been to Lagoon. If you are still in the Salt Lake area you should meet up with the Fan X group. They put on a comic conventions in Salt Lake and other cities such as Tampa Bay, Atlanta and Indianapolis and their office is not to far from downtown Salt Lake. I think you would find it interesting.
now you interrupted some serious goings on with that male peacock with his feather display there were two female peafowl just to the left of you guys when you walked up to him, he was trying to go acourtin' lol
That Cannibal rise looked pretty fierce - I don’t know if I could stomach that ride. I might lose my stomach on it! Lol. Glad you were brave enough to tackle it Adam. Would you do it again?

Just a bit of trivia Adam. Dracula's Castle was installed in 1974. It along with the original Terroride were designed by Bill Tracy. The Terroride was reimagined in 2015 for its 50th anniversary. Some of the old props of Terroride were placed inside Dracula's Castle. I have been an employee of Lagoon since 1994. Also the very building that Dracula's Castle was built in used to be the venue of many concerts. Lagoon had brought in a plethora of bands and artists back in the 50s and 60s. Including The Who. The Beach Boys. The Monkees. Janis Joplin. Johnny Cash. And even Jimi Hendrix. That building has a deep rooted history. Dracula's Castle is on of my favorite rides to operate. If you want to know more history of Lagoon check out many documentaries dedicated to the park.
I also remember that last tunnel of Dracula's Castle used to spin (back in the 70s). If you look at it in the video, you can tell that tunnel has a "seam" in the middle -- the two pieces of the tunnel used to spin which created a great effect. Perhaps you can find out why they quit doing it, at one point I thought it was because the motors broke down but I now suspect that it is because of people with motion sickness/vertigo issues.
That's amazing info, thank you for sharing it , my favorite comments here are learning from true blue "hometowners" from wherever ATW visits. Also, thank you for all your years of service bringing smiles and joy to others. I hope to go there someday myself. ✌️
@@davidnielson9139 many spinning barrels in dark rides were disabled after a fatal accident inside Seabreeze Park ride in the early 1980s. But barrels still spin in other surviving Bill Tracy dark rides at Trimper’s and Waldameer.
Adam. It’s your favorite in house 42 year utah native again. Lagoon originally opened under the name Lake Park in 1886. It’s original location was right along the shore of the then much larger and deeper Great Salt Lake. In 1899 it was moved to its current location a couple miles east to Farmington. It was then renamed Lagoon because the new location was literally built right next an actual inland lagoon coming off of the Great Salt Lake. The “Roller Coaster” is 101 years old making it the 4th oldest operating roller coaster in the US and the 7th oldest operating roller coaster in the world. The Carousel was built in 1893. It has everyone of its original hand carved figures. Of the over 3000 similar design carousels built in the US during that era, there are less than 150 of them operating today. …just sayin..
I'm glad you and your sister had fun at Lagoon (my home amusement park) every time we go I tell my wife and kiddos that Adam the Woo might like this place. It's no Disneyland but it has its own charm. Thanks for your videos. We love your channel!!!!!
Those dark rides look awesome! I laughed so hard when the random rat popped out of the corpse in the first one. All the coasters look so much fun especially the wooden ones. It reminds. me of the Racer at King’s Island, Ohio. Looked like so much fun man.
Seems like you and your sister had a fun family day! Sometimes you have to get away from the normal major theme parks and just venture on the local ones that arent big branded corporations when traveling. This amusement park looks like it is alot of fun! That wooden rollercoaster reminds me of the scene in the original Vacation movie where they are riding the old wooden coaster. I feel like I was there while watching this video!
That’s a cute amusement park. I think the animated toilet to tell everyone where the bathrooms are is kinda funny.- When you were showing the dentist office equipment with the peacock making the noise in the background that was perfect. 🤣
As a "theme park," Lagoon is gradually developing a Halloween theme. Many of the newer rides have spooky names and themes: Spider, Wicked, Bat, Cannibal, etc. Terroride and Dracula's Castle are great haunted houses. If you come back in the fall, Lagoon has "Frightmares" season--the whole park is decorated for Halloween, and they open up multiple temporary walk-through haunted house attractions.
Good morning Adam! Nice to catch the notification right away. Great to see you exploring the Utah amusement park with your sister! They should use "the creature" as the mascot for lagoon park 🙂

Oh this brought back so many memories of amusement parks with my older brother as young adults. There is nothing better than making memories with family. Thank you for your videos. They take me places I may never get to visit.
Never even realized this park existed in Utah. I was in Ogden way back, in '98--guess the park was even open then and has expanded since. I was raised in Napa CA and our chief complaint as teens was that there was little to do. Then, in my 20's, Marine World moved from Redwood City to Vallejo just 20 minutes from my home--finally had a non-ride attraction. But the park as a zoo alone was not viable, so instead of closing, its owners opted to start adding roller coasters. I last went there in '13, the zoo and marine mammal exhibits are still there, it has a cool butterfly world, and some very cool coasters--but at least then it had no dark rides. Six Flags runs it today, it is one of two theme parks in the SF Bay area, the other being Santa Clara's Great America which also almost closed, then the city itself bought the now 45 yo park to keep it open. I live in Phoenix now, but we have just a small amusement park, walking distance from where I live though, called Castles and Coasters, though only one coaster is what I would call an E-ticket attraction, the other is for younger folks. The Castles name comes from its mini golf course. Even in summer, it operates. Next year, a new theme park based on Mattel will be opening adjacent to our football stadium. It will have a coaster and a dark ride I believe, it will be our largest water based park and will have the largest hotel in Arizona at over 1000 rooms. Location wise they really are lucky, they are also near a new casino, Phoenix has more hotel casinos now than Reno Nevada, and they are quite modern and some as big inside as your average Vegas casino. I can't wait to check out the new theme park when it opens next year, it will also be quite close to where I live. Glad Utah has a park to go to--in a poor economy, a visit to an amusement park works wonders and is still a good value. Cool video--I like the way you and your sister hosted it.

Glad to see you had a fun time at Lagoon. I've lived in Utah my whole life(not mormon) and i've been to Lagoon twice. Although i can't handle things like roller coasters or Wicked. I can't breathe on those. Too much for me. I can handle things like ferris wheels but not the fast stuff. Also, if you're looking for some ice cream i work at the Dairy Queen a little south in Woods Cross. If ya ever stop by in the evening(i work nights) i would definitely say hi. Anyhoo, excellent video! 👍

Great video Adam. I enjoyed watching you explore parks you have never seen before. I also enjoyed you and your sister together a theme. That was great seeing you two talk about the attractions and sharing a laugh!
Terroride and Dracula's Castle are absolute classics. They're surprisingly good and always just fun to ride. The coasters aren't the biggest or fastest, but they are all solid and fun rides. The park is beautiful with all the trees and flowers. Lots of shade. It's just a really good park with a lot of fun.
Hi Adam, I've watched your channel for a few years now. Loved watching you wander around my hometown! Lived in Farmington most of my life. I kept wanting to answer your questions as you have been exploring Utah! You should have asked Provost Park Pass to take you around! Thanks for the fun videos!!
Loved your point about the music at theme parks vs amusement parks! Of course there’s gonna be some outliers but I think that’s a good way to help describe the difference. Thanks for showing us around !!!
Awesome!! Love that place!! We get season passes . But we skipped this year because we needed a rest. The water park is included with the admission it's not extra. It's free!! The tubs, lockers, and food that are inside the water park is extra. Enjoy!! 😁😁😁😍😍 also not many famous u-tubes come to Utah or live here. So it's unusual to see people with big cameras.

The Beast at Kings Island is the BEST in my opinion! Loved the vlog today! Nice to see you and your sister having fun together! Safe travels.
Dave Ross Kennywood is a great old time amusement park- I grew up with it !
@@conniecrawford5231 awesome. I live out of state now... I really want to get back and see all the changes there.
Thanks for the post. I laughed through the entire video.....Nicely done.
Brings back memories of my childhood. All the rides are still there 30 years later😂
That wooden coaster looks fantastic and those dark rides are legit. Cool park!
I love your sister's laugh! glad you had a good time together!
Sweet, spending time with your Sis!❤️
Love seeing your parents and sister on vacation with you!!!🐾🐕🐶
Love that you're here! Hope you really enjoyed it! Definitely an amusement park.
Glad you paid us a visit here in Utah 😃👍🏾
Come back in October for Freight-mares.
Hey Adam!
It was really cool meeting you for a second, never thought it would have happened. I'm glad you both enjoyed the park! (We all can agree Wild Mouse hurts, even if you only seen a pov 😂)
I'm from western wyoming and this was my amusement park i grew up on. thank you good sir
I've lived in Utah my whole life its beautiful.and lagoon was our summer reunion with family every year .so glad to see you finally make it up to my neck of the woods. I've watched your videos for years . I was wondering when you would go to lagoon and glad you loved it .come back to visit again .
This is an interesting little amusement park, definitely has fun spot kind of vibes.
that is quite an amusement park, lots of great rides. Looks like a great place to go back to over and over
I love that you went to Lagoon !!! So glad you had a good time !!!
Looks like a great day with your sister. Loved the rides.
So cool to see you bring your family into your videos.
Nice to see you and sister woo ! Fun amusement park it looked like !!
What a great park. Good to see sister woo doing well. Great video. I love your family.
Hi Adam, I've watched your channel for a few years now. Loved watching you wander around my hometown! Lived in Farmington most of my life. I kept wanting to answer your questions as you have been exploring Utah! You should have asked Provost Park Pass to take you around! Thanks for the fun videos!!
its great to see you having fun with your Sis!
I loved this video! So glad they let you film on the rides! I went there once when I was 8, and only remember the log ride :) Thank you!
That ferris wheel that spins is where my husband proposed to me. Right when it reached the top. ❤️
Loved your point about the music at theme parks vs amusement parks! Of course there’s gonna be some outliers but I think that’s a good way to help describe the difference. Thanks for showing us around !!!
I've been want to go here glad one my my favorite people got to go. Thank u for taking us with u Adam
That is a great park, love the peacocks and roos and the coasters are unique and fun, hope to get there someday soon
Ooh Lagoon! This park looks like a great park! Really want to go here someday
Another super fun ,thanks,Adam!
Just found your channel. Love the documentation of the old deserted and decaying towns.
