Greatest Seinfeld scene of all time. The fact it was all planned to help each other out and they couldn’t resist just tearing each down and the first chance they got. Classic Seinfeld.
@Michael you probably already know this, but the ending of that show was supposed to be George just walking into the water. That's it. So they played that clip at a rehearsal in front of a live audience and it totally fell flat, so Larry David and Seinfeld spent the night going through how they could end it. Then gave this massive monologue for Jason to read and memorize in like an hour. Then the performance you see is the very first time they ever did it and the only time they ever did it. No rehearsal on it at all.
George wanted to use the architect line in season one episode 2 when he was waiting at a lift with Jerry who was waiting for a lawyer to come down who he met at a party with Elaine the night before.
One of my favorite lines from George and from the whole show altogether -- an extraneous b.s. add-on to an already b.s. story ... accelerated weasel-ry at its finest.
I love the way this was all planned out and when the time came, George just couldn't help himself. The B.S. just had to fly. This scene never gets old.
"really didn't take very long either" Classic George there. Being an architect and designing the guggenheim wing wasn't good enough. He had to imply it was easy too LOL!
I always thought that line was hinting at how construction projects you see in the city never seem to take long to complete, because you aren’t thinking about it and one day it is suddenly finished.
George’s overly exaggerated acting as if it’s his first time seeing Jerry in 20 years, and then Jerry replying with “sorry?” just fucking kills me every time.
This is one of the best scenes in Seinfeld. Jerry and George were going to pretend not knowing each other to help Jerry out, and in the end thay just started arguing like two complete morons. It's really such clever comedy writing.
Rodrigo Ele while this scene us excellent, I think the best George/Jerry scene is when they are talking at the restaurant trying to keep the deaf woman from reading their lips
The way George holds his mouth when he sees Jerry sittin at the table sets the scene prefectly for the lines of bullshit he and Jerry are about to lay on Duncan....#classic One of my favorite episodes!!!
@@theronferbey831 100% agree. the audience always clapped for kramer when he entered a scene, since he was the "breakthrough" character, but george truly carried the show and deserved that applause imo. almost every classic episode is centered around george and i'd expect nothing less from a character modelled after larry david himself
Everyone keeps saying, and it didn't take very long either is the line that got lost in the scene... I disagree! I think this line about my driver's waiting outside is absolutely the most significant line that's lost in the scene!🤣😂🤣😭😭😭
There is so much in that simple line in my opinion... He's pretending he hasn't seen him in a long time, so for all he knows that could be Jerry's wife. Nevertheless George just snobs her like that, knowing that she wouldn't last long (as always). He really seized every chance of being an asshole "for free" in this scene. Great, great acting.
I think it's simpler than that. George is only there to lie to Duncan for Jerry. So when he's introduced to Lois, he brushes her off since her role has no bearing on the goal.
George got the last laugh though when he said he should get going since his driver is waiting and basically got Jerry to submit since his entire alibi depended on George being there
"Boy, you really went bald there..." ROFLMAOOOOO "Well, you've really built yourself up into something." "Well, well...I, uh, had a dream, Jerry..." Classic scene. One of my all-time favorites. F'ing hilarious...😄👍
Given the detail and the direction that the loss of virginity story was going, it sounds almost like it did happen. But given that it is George that is telling it, one can't but question it's authenticity.
in this scene you notice how jerry+george's covert ruse allows them to take real digs they would never otherwise take. it's the first time their attitudes towards each other become truthful! hilarious as hell!
@@mihails.6398 there is another George character, it's the original George who's Larry David! Watch Curb Your Enthusiasm and you'll get all the George Costanza you can imagine
For me I loose it at 2:50 when Jerry tries to get things back on track and George had almost had it with Jerry's antics and decides to leave. "Oh the big race, yes". Georges face is so priceless as you can see how pissed off he is at Jerry.
I like how George came into the coffee shop, but when he started getting humiliated by Jerry, his «driver was waiting outside» and he wanted to bail. Without buying anything? LOL.
Love how Jerry starts it all by pretending to not recognize George, and it escalates with such comedic perfection. In the end, George just starts to leave forgetting all about the plan😂😂😂. Seinfeld is truly the greatest comedy of all time
George didn't forget anything. Jerry was insulting him too much and exposing his lies so George reminded Jerry that he needed him by pretending to leave
