@@freeze_the_fall_band I just love great music and you guys are killing it right now. His song was the first I heard of yours and I was super impressed with what you are doing. What’s the best way to contact you?
Glad to see you react to, and appreciate, this great band. Their debut ep doesn't have a bad song on it, my only complaint is that there aren't enough tracks! Jonah is strong on drums on all of them, and he really is playing this one blindfolded. One Left Standing showcases Quinn's vocals, and Broken Glass has some absolutely sick bass work by Aria. And their logo is pretty cool. If you put six of them around a point you get a snowflake.
Their first EP Thrones is just great I love every song on there "One Left Standing" is a beautiful song but I think my favorite is "Broken Glass" as I find myself playing that one way more often.
I just now seen this, so awesome that you experienced Freeze The Fall. They are great and and this isn't just a single song thats good, the whole EP is. ❄🤘❄🤘❄
Hey Bob! Thanks for reacting to Freeze The Fall and welcome to the Cold Front❄! This band was inspired by The Warning and Quinn went to one of their concerts in Canada and got all of them to sign her guitar. Their debut EP Thrones is fantastic, one of the best EPs I've heard. You're absolutely right about needing to support these young bands, there's so much young talent in rock music and music in general and they just need more exposure.
I told Aria's dad: " This is like discovering Rush, as a high school band". "Whoa! That's high praise!", he responded. Truthfully, Thrones is better than the first 3 Rush albums, combined. They're already at 2112 level.
This is my first time hearing them too. The drummer was definitely my favorite part. Great song. I’ll have to dig more into the discography. Thanks for the reaction, it was great as always!
Hey Bob , thanks so much for checking out Freeze the Fall. Welcome to the Cold Front!❄❄❄ Glad you enjoyed!! They are from Kelowna, British Columbia , Canada, only been playing together about 2 years. Yes, 17 , 16 and 15 today. 16, 15, and 15 when the video was filmed last December. Partly influenced by The Warning. A lot of us in The Warning Army have gotten behind them. Quinn taught herself to play guitar by listening the TW's Queen of the Murder Scene album. Song is the 2nd single from their 5 song debut EP ,Thrones. Did you notice the breath? That was real🥶🥶 , videos for all 5 songs were filmed at one time, late December in an unheated barn in Canada, over 8-10 hours. Around 20F, with about 15 costume changes. "Glitch", "Masquerade", "Broken Glass" and "One Left Standing" are the other 4. A live for "Masquerade" from last April is also posted on their channel. Live for "Glitch" drops tomorrow (Sep 12). Again Thanks for checking them out.
Dude they were amazing! Especially for their ages. That part blew me away. So professional for that age. Totally mind blowing. Thanks for the suggestion!
they are only going to get better, i have already seen a huge growth in the year i have been following them. Frost warning sent and Cold Front incoming. be good to one another and ROCK ON !!
@@iiwdpn One Left Standing is mine, too. For me it's more about the sense of the song, I feel for the protagonist. And of course, it's good music done well.
Hey there Bob. So glad you took the time to react to this young band. Count me as one of the FTF cross-over fans and supporters from The Warning Army. I think FTF have a ton of talent and a bright future. Each are really skilled on their instruments. They have a good writing sense. Yeah, the FTF logo is great. I can't wait to see where they go next. Still love the bari sax in the background but admit it makes me nervous without a mouthpiece cover ;)
Oh, as for the meaning of this song, FTF have said "The song is about gender inequality, it’s about women not always feeling seen or listened to. The blindfold represents that feeling of being invisible."
Ok that makes sense. I am so terrible with musics. My mind tends to hear the whole package and the melodies all blending together kinda puts the actual words in the background for me. It’s just another musical line in the overall sound. It’s so bad that when I was younger I thought the Chicago sing was Along Comes A Whirlwind. Nope it was women. 🤣
I didn't get the blindfold, maybe the lyrics helped explain it but I had some difficulty understanding them. Overall I thought they were pretty good. The drummer seems to display a bit of enthusiasm, but probably due to age. I decided to listen to a few other songs since on their website the guitarist was mentioned having blistering guitar riffs, but out of three songs I never heard any solo leads. But for a three person group and considering the ages not too bad. A bit heavy on the guitar distortion for me over a full song, but well composed. I know the ages kind of captivated you Bob, but these days young players can improve rapidly due to all the teaching aids that are now available. I talked to a guy yesterday at the Lovebites concert, he mentioned a group that has toured Europe twice, and they are about the same age. It used to take years for a group to become established, but now a group can upload to social media, create music and mixes within their own home, even create their own music videos since you only need an iPhone and some editing software. Now I'm not taking anything away from this group, I'm just saying that 10 or more years back self-created (and I doubt this one was) videos were virtually non-existent, but now you can find solo artists everywhere on the web. I was listening to a guy playing a demo of Seymour Duncan pickups and his creation, if some drums and vocals were added, would probably be a metal hit. I just feel the quality of musicianship across the board greatly improves every year, and has reached down to the youths. There is another band of little Philipino kids that do covers, probably from their living room, and you have to give them probably at least a 7 out of 10 if not more, and they have just basic equipment. There is a Filipino band called Missioned Soul's, they do covers, all family members, the drummer is 10 years old. Now they aren't as professional as Free the Fall, but I'm just relating it to age not being the factor it once was. If your interested in a quick listen to them, they do a Led Zep cover: ruclips.net/video/cN3G-NRsleQ/видео.html
The blindfold, and the masks in 2 other songs, are all related to the lyrics of each song. Video production was done by Two-Six Films Production in Kelowna BC, Canada. Songs recorded at Oodelally Recordings in West Kelowna, with producer Jordan Chase.
Hey you are so right Guy about the kids having more to help them these days. Social media has made stars out of a lot of people. It’s incredible how the world today barely resembles what we grew up with.
I think that with this generation, the solo is pretty much dead. This is a new sound, and we can't listen to it with our old ears and expect it to sound like rock did when we were their age.
@@RussInCanadaWhat I found interesting was on their website there is a reference to her tantalizing riffs, but I just never heard any. Pretty much straight bar chords. Regardless, the band is well put together.
