  • Conduct an ANOVA test using the TI-84 instead of doing it by hand or using tables. This is an easy way to do the ANOVA test. I’ll show you how to enter the data into the lists and run the ANOVA test using the TI-84 statistics features.

Thanks so much for this! Is there a way to find the grand mean?

There isn't a slick way to do this, but you can do it by adding the lists and dividing by their total dimension. Check back for a video tutorial on this.

Is it possible to compute the ANOVA test with only the means, the number of datapoints in a group and the sum of squars given?

That is an interesting question. You'd have to trick the calculator into thinking you had all the data (it's not a sophistocated program). Wondering if you could use the mean for each group and type it into the list equal to the number of data values for that list, then do the same for the other groups.🤔

Of course, this would only be an approximation.

how do you calculate the critical value for this test?

Such a good question! Unfortunately, there is not an "invF" to find the critical value on the TI84. However, you'll find an online critical F calculator at this site www.socscistatistics.com/tests/criticalvalues/default.aspx.
