The fact that this cop said they have the right to deny public record requests of their videos is EXACTLY why our right to record in these buildings needs to be protected. We know they will fight tooth and nail to deny transparency if it makes them look bad or they have broken the law.
That needs to be proven.
@@lizcollinson2692 [your] "That" is vague.
Exactly ! ! !
💯
@horbie5039 WHERE IS YOUR DEMENSTRATED NON COMPLIANT-SHEEPLENESS TO MANDATE THE ENUMERATED LAWS' ID NUMBERS OF "THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO DENY PUBLIC RECORDS"? HI-HO SILVER....AWAY!
They don’t like citizens cameras because they have no control over them : )
it's all about narcissism and control
Truth. They will do everything possible to withhold evidence.
They have had the upper hand for decades
Now because of the camera phone. They simply don't like it. Nothing to do with the law. It's their Ego 🇬🇧 .
Hear the tyrant whilst downstairs tell Sean if some crazy person views Sean’s video on FB or YT then were to attack someone or do something at this location that Sean would be liable!. These fools have no idea of basics laws and rights yet have guns and powers
LIA is the best!! He actually follows through and holds people accountable!!!
It’s insane how quickly taxpayer funded public servants are willing to waste taxpayer money to call taxpayer funded police officers to handle a public citizen exercising a first amendment right in a taxpayer funded building and when they get sued the victim gets payed with taxpayer money
The joys of bureaucracy. It never shrinks and is unproductive by design, just a vampiric entity on private citizens.
TY LIA, you make America a better place.
So many people, including security personnel and some police officers, believe that a press badge is a legal permit allowing one's use of a camera.
Lol, so make one. Make it out of craft paper and crayons, get a toddler to make it, that way, as a joke, you could hand it to them and say "you can keep that one"
They're upset because you're video recording them getting paid taxpayers money for sitting and standing around all day doing very little or nothing at all. Government employees need to know their place. SERVE THE PEOPLE!!
haha, im sure there is a lot of truth to that. If you record me i may need to look busy.
Truth‼️
It's why they're weebles.
They're probably bored all day at work and constant boredom can lead to mental health problems. They're nuts. 😂

Actually, they ought to be thanking you for highlighting the Constitution which they took an oath to uphold.
public employees act like the building belongs to them rather than the public
A camera in a public building scares tyrants
Criminals
Heaven forbid there be any transparency, hence no cameras
As it should
NO! "YOUR CAMERA" OF THEIR RECORDED COMPLICITEDNESS WITH ARROGANCED ASSUMED AUTHORITIES, AGAINST "OUR"? OR THIER CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.
A courtroom is the MOST important place we should have cameras.
Why do judges have card blanche?
I always respond to directives WITH directives: Don't beat your wife, don't sell drugs out of the police car/city office/library, don't violate the right of the law-abiding citizens...
I like don't eat yellow snow. It's a perfect combination of completely unrelated and call them idiotic.
@@baileykeller288 That's good but I prefer to highlight crimes that police officers have and do commit just like they want to direct a citizen against crimes that they 'might' commit.
How can these people be cops or security guards when they don’t know the basics? How many times have we heard “I don’t want my face on your recording!” Or “Where’s your press credentials?” Embarrassing!
This is what perceived power looks like. People just want to feel like they have more power and control than they do. Power corrupts. Give someone a little bit of authority and they will usually take it as far as possible
The word for it is DOMINANCE. They think that building is their private domain and they will dominate it.
It's pathetic how bad our public servants get triggered over first amendment rights.
"Not in the bathroom"! Really! Fucking genius! You get privacy in a space were privacy is expected but Sherlock just haaaaaad to point it out

@@dranderson6071 One can assume bad intent until the cows come home, but doing so toward the public doesn't foster trust. Signs need to be clear as well, and that sign with the arrow was vague. Restricted area 'down that way' is what it seems to indicate.
And Sparks definitely has a power trip… he is just on his best behavior because he is on their cameras…. Cross him on the streets and his inner tyrant comes out…
What difference does it make if court is not in session? They act like their guarding Fort Knox. 😮
It’s a power thing.
@@ericanderson8556 The word for it is DOMINANCE. They think that is their private domain and they will dominate it.
No judge to back them up is the main difference. I use the handicapped entrance and they have NO signs on it, or metal detectors, and that is why I use it.
Long Island Audit you are so polite while training the ignorant ones in the public buildings! Your patience is so welcoming - thx!
You are hands down thee best 1st amendment auditor out there! I always look forward to your videos.
A camera to them, is like sunlight to a vampire.
Friendly reminder that tyrants are everywhere with their own cameras 😅
It's so funny how some people tell you its against the law and you cant film them without their consent and then only seconds later they start filming you. They're breaking their own made up law. 🤣
I live here in Northern Alabama and I appreciate you coming and doing these audits. I hope you come to my Hometown of Huntsville. Alabama and go to the Madison County courthouse and Madison County jail and even the library. Because I know you will probably find some tyrants. In those buildings man. I appreciate you for coming all the way South to do these. I've lived here all my life and the cops here think that nothing can touch them that they are above the law and that no one and I mean, no 1 will ever be able to do anything about it. Long Island audit, Thanks again.
Exactly! Especially Limestone County Sheriffs Office
The dude in the seat definitely has his "smarty " pants on lol
very large "smarty" pants, I would say. lol
When will people learn PUBLIC IS PUBLIC SO people can film what ever their eyes can see!!!!
Government employees never will learn that. They think their workplace is THEIR domain - and they will dominate in their domain.
Not always. As you can see in the video, there are restricted ares that are owned by the public but not publicly accessible.
@@fignewtoneater WoW! What an insightful and elegant observation!
Our eyes don't have a zoom capability such as camera's have. Auditors often zoom onto things that they cannot see very well with the naked eye.
@@mrsniffwell7736 OMG! The zoom capability saved the cameraman the effort of actually walking over to see what everyone, including him, can be seen.
How horrible! Let's go back to having cameras that have no zoom! Better yet, let's go back to having NO cameras in the hands of the public in government buildings AT ALL!
Yes, some of us can Sniff Well, indeed.

So many helpful people. But they neglected to tell you that if you go swimming you should come up for air once in awhile. Keep up the good work.
If you have to ask permission, then it ain't a "right". Elementary logic. Common reasoning.
Alabama embarrasses me constantly.
They need to be taught to take orders rather than give directives to law abiding citizens
That security guard hiding looked methed up!
CAN'T YOU HIDE YOUR LYING EYES BEHIND A GRIN OF TYRANNIC INTENTS? THE WILLINGNSSES OF EXECUTIONERS PRO BONOS IS PSYCHOPATHIC'S EMPATHIES?
I would get way too aggravated to do this myself. Glad there are folks that can.
I love the fact you went to Decatur. There are a few people who got arrested for protesting during the day on the streets. Glad they overall respected your rights! #JusticeForStevePerkins

There is NEVER an excuse for rudeness
Mister.

@@kdcema57 What if thieves break into your house and do awful things to your family for a few weeks. Is rudeness acceptable then?
This day and age we have Officer security.
I can't imagine what it must be like to live in such a constant state of fear. That seems to be the condition of every government employee. Or so they say.
“Your officer was making sure I knew how to read all the signs”…. Easily the best way to handle that issue! It REALLY drives home the point, and makes THEM look very silly! He probably won’t do that again. Well… he likely will right⁉️🤪🤣🤷🏻♂️
I just dont understand why cops have any business involving themselves with a citizens business with the government. If a person is not breaking the law why exactly are they there? To tell people to follow instructions on a sign. And then cops like to argue confidential information. If they are not responsible to keep citizens safe why the he## are they there to protect or keep confidential information safe. Make this make sense
They have no duty to protect or serve. Our fine supreme court has said so 😳
"If a person is not breaking the law why exactly are they there?"
It's for intimidation effect. People are frightened of uniforms, badges and sidearms. The average person thinks the cop must know the law (even though many cops don't.) It also raises doubt in people's minds that whatever they are doing *might* be somehow illegal.

It annoys me when people ask for credentials. We have freedom of religion. We don’t need to show papers. Same thing.

Lovin' the self important security guard
We the people OF THE WORLD better start talking as a collective to protect and save each other.
Some people need to be told. if they don't say something then you will always have that person that says, " I didn't know" or I didn't see that sign
Why do law enforcement always feel it's necessary to state the obvious. "You can't record in the restrooms."
It makes them feel that they have purpose in their sordid lives.
I concur sean, everything you have said is absolutely correct. You're in the southern part of the United States in the backwoods so to speak. People sell to realize that we are the only truly free country in the world, but we are losing it on a daily bases !
When asking for a press pass do they ever wonder who gave Benjamin Franklin his press pass?
Ah yes all the directives. The scary thing to me is the “press credentials”. People think the main stream media is honest. That’s the scariest thing to me!
"You need permission. You need a press card."
*Translation: You have to work for big business. You can't work for yourself.
Typical mindset of government employees.*
Thank you for what you do Sean. God bless you
That stairwell where the guy said you can’t go up, it reminded me so much of the stairwell where that dumb guy from Allied International who “knocks down trees.”
Seeking transparency and accountability in government is met with a culture of disdain and contempt for the public. Which they are sworn to serve. With lies, gaslighting and threats..
I went there, and I just took my phone out, not recording, and they were having a heart attack
When you leave your home you are being visited over 100 times a day. Take that
I have a late friend who had worked for the NSA years ago. He said back then they got in big trouble if they were found surveiling a US Citizen!!! Those days are over.
He was so disgusted that now we live in USA, aka Universal Surveillance Always.
You are correct they always have to explain where you can go and where you can’t like you can’t read. That’s because they must show you their power which does not trump their ignorance. Drives me nuts.
Let’s get into it!!!
To be fair to the cop who made sure you could read signs, you are, after all, in Alabama; so, wondering if adults can read is warranted.
That's a very statist statement. Yes, we can read. Whether we choose to or not is a different matter.
Speaking of which, did anyone else notice the click-bait title? What threat of arrest was even in this video? Whatever horror stories Sean Paul heard about Decatur were definitely not supported in this video.
To be fair then, since I was born in Decatur, AL, still live in Decatur.....and somehow as you presume, have managed to learn how to read AND type as well (ABOVE and BEYOND your presumption), I would suggest that you should adopt an intelligent point of rationale (view). Instead of being a close minded "stereotypical" sheep about Alabama. Stupid people live everywhere.
Sean actually works damn hard at EDUCATING people, and your assumptions about somewhere you have probably NEVER been.....only speaks volumes about YOUR character. Not mine.
I hope this may satisfy your perceived ideology and perhaps encourages YOU to become more educated as well. Have a Great Day!
Sounds like they need to remove all their cameras, from the building.
I got arrested in Alabama like 16 years ago, no camera cell phones, no body cameras, just the word of 5 tyrant officers against me!! you can only imagine how it went and how my rights got violated.
GO SPR !!! A real hero.
Lyndon James looked like he needs to walk the floors rather than sit on the large ass. Great Job LIA.
The PR & IT employees were trained on the "See something, say something" handbook.

He and JTownPress did an audit just the next county over.
Much much different outcome.
They arrested her,was letting him go,then stopped him and confiscated all the cameras, the cameras were still recording and showed inmates in what could be described as horrible conditions.
Marshall County Alabama.
The deputy that confiscated the cameras has a bad past.
In Alabama, they always hide the one cute girl down in the basement. See what you've done Sean? Now she's been shuttled off to a newly secured undisclosed location, like the library.
If your security requires a verbal explanation, its not security. 😂🤣
Hi Sean l❤ from UK England 🙏🏻 .
this is a state of surveillance wherein we live.
They did a decent job in this location. Seems like the education you have been providing is working.
Keep fighting brother godbless
"You can't record in a restroom." True. So you can't record here because the whole building is nothing more than a big old Sit Hole.😅
When they point out signs of prohibited areas you should say "oh, thank you. I did not know that because I cannot read".
Good audit, and true about the almost compulsive way law enforcement needs to "guide" and also have the last word. These public departments that keep screaming about "privacy" issues just can't bring themselves to create the privacy!
Looks like the stair well Phil had to restrict!
Ole phil. Forever remembered on the internet as a tyrant. And a dumdum. Big dummy.
Famous first words...."how can i help you"......lol
Correct English would be "how may I help you." But, again, it's Alabmmy!
Them: We can deny public record requests.
Also them: We pride ourselves on being transparent with the public.
Sean , I can't keep repeating myself about this> When cops take the amendments and civil rights course to legally be cops in the USA are not fully educated and need to complete the civilian rights and amendments course education law course in order for this B.S. to stop!!!! The education law enforcement course to legally be cops in the USA is not fully completed in all state's in the USA!!!!! We technically do not have cops in the USA as of yet and until these course of education are completed by so called legally licensed cops that actually completed these courses which are not legally completed to make them cops as of yet!!!!!!!!! Taking an oath is not the same as learning it!!!!! And "(knowledge is power)"!!!!!
They always need not only the last word but also to make sure they let you know that they are the boss!😂
It's called 'flexing the muscle of authority'.
So when a cop tells you "you can't go in there" he's building a case against you. Since he's told you, you lose the ability to say "I didn't know" or "I didn't see the sign" and that means you by default had intent to break those rules/ laws
It amazes me that they still believe that you can not record in public
Let US/ AMERICA 👀 if he KEEPS HIS OATH ? so far VERY GOOD !
