Thank you for the informative video. I love this, and I'm excited to make my own. I also want to thank you for responding to more recent comments that your storage unit has held up all these years!!!
You are SO CLEVER. This is perfect. Thank you so much. I'm seeing so many potentials for this. I've already made a 5 pad transportable container to take for workshops using a $ store container as the outer shell and your idea for the shelves. Thank you for sharing....
I recently made a small one with some Amazon cardboard boxes. When I need another one made I'm definitely picking up some more foam boards. I'm a photographer so there is always some foam boards around but I never thought to use them this way!
You did a fabulous job on this project! I made one about 2 years ago but now I have to store the new colours on top, not really a big deal but nice that yours will hold all 60 pads!
+midnightgarden27 I had all these ink pads just lying in piles on my desk for months! But I didn't want to spend all that money on a storage unit when I had so many other more fun crafty things on my wish list. LOL I love having the room to grow. :) tfw xoxo, Kristina
Thank you so much for this awesome idea! I decoupaged cardboard from old cardboard boxes, and followed your instructions to make my own storage! Much less expensive (and way cuter!) than paying 50-60.00
Christie Hicks I'm so tickled that you made your own, and my project helped you. That's awesome!!! Woot woot. Thanks for letting me know. I'd love to see yours. TFW Hugs Kristina

Hi Kristina. Thank you so very much for this I had never heard about Foam Core before. I had a look on Amazon and it is very affordable. I am disabled so using wood and power tools is out of the question but i could easily do this. I would then feel very satisfied that i could make such useful storage. I am always looking for storage so now i can make my own. Thank you. Luvs and Hugs Wendy
+Crafty Come Lately Yes, including everything including the price of the new Xacto replacement blade and glue sticks, I think this was under $4! YAY :D tfw big hugs, Kristina
you've tempted me to have a go at making a shelving unit, but I think I might make each section taller, to take two pads. that would mean something like only half the cuts, and it's no big deal to pick the top one or the bottom one. the spaces could also be used for reinkers or other colouring materials, till the ink pad collection grows to fill the unit.
Looks great, I'm doing a new craft room....we moved house, it's a largish room but still never have enough of the right size shelves for things like this, I don't want to be putting them in boxes where I forget what I have and the thought of raking through to find what I want drives me mad, so I end up using black or white for everything lol. So thanks for sharing I will be having a go at making this......any more storage tips welcome... Huggles xxxAnnxxx
+Ann Littler (wife of Scrooge McMeany) Oh wow congratulations! I am so excited for you in your new craft room. This was really a great inexpensive storage solution for me, and I find that I use my distress ink pads a lot more frequently than I used to when they were in piles on the corner of my desk (the messiness made me crazy). I have also taken to storing my stamps in the plastic sleeves (I found an equivalent to Avery Elle pockets for much less on Amazon: amzn.to/1XaCEpa and I love it. Good luck and happy organizing! xoxo, Kristina
+CraftyPaws I'll go have a look cause im going to put mine in folders. also my dies I found really quite cheap lots of a4 magnetic sheets, I was trying to get the magnetic sheets they have in the USA to put over vents etc as I couldn't afford sheets they sell for the purpose. then I found some either in ebay or amazon over here in the uk. it's a long time since we spoke as I wasn't on youtube for a while...do you remember me.....the one that did the mad video for Ann and Rosie? me the dog in the middle lol. it's good to talk to you. I'm off to have a look at all your things and the address you put on above. xxx

Fabulous! Im not sure what foam core is, but i'll find something. With your measurements i'll be able to come up with something... how thick is your foam core stuff? BTW... your ring is gorgeous!
My white foam core board is less about 5 cm or just shy of 1/4" thick and was very inexpensive ($1 for a huge poster board sized sheet at the Dollar Tree). The black foam core, which is denser (and was more expensive at Office Max) is about 4 cm thick or about 1/8" inch. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and leaving such a sweet comment! Hugs, Kristina
This is very well done. I have stampin up ink pads and need more depth. Do you have any suggestions as to dimensions needed for them. The pads measure 3 1/2 inches x 4 3/8 inches.
Well, these are 3" x 3" so I would say that all the widths need to be widened to at least 3.5". Then for the horizontal pieces, you would need to lengthen those by at least ((4 3/8 - 3) multiplied by however number of ink pads you want in each row). Hope that makes sense and is helpful! Good luck!
Hi Kelley, you can find foam core board most big box stationary stores like Office Max (the denser black one i got there), and Dollar Tree stores (the white ones I got there). I actually used left overs for drawer dividers for my washing tape storage. :) TFW
