I think it's because they really want you to fight Ridley, even if you use some cheat 😆 But it could be like Norfair Ridley. When HP reaches 0, Ridley still fighting. But istead keep fighting, he could run away at Ceres Station fight.
I remember doing this with a Game Genie at the time. Only to find out you can't finish the game because you need to use the Ice Beam to freeze enemies to use at platforms at some point.
Actually you can finish the game, but you will need power bombs against the metroids, as I did. And you can use the wall jump at some points, or even the Space Jump.
@@ticgameplays3389 It's been years, I'm talking a couple decades, lol. But I just recall a point where I need to go up, and you were supposed to ice beam those floating little shell enemies to use as platforms. Maybe I could have used wall jumping in that section, but I sucked at those back then as a kid.
Yes, I think it's scripted. Even if his hp reaches 0, Kraid will rise from the floor, unless if you hit him again, before he rises, as speedrunners do with missiles and super missiles. But he need to keep the mouth opened, of course.
the ceres ridley is the only super metroid boss that doesnt operate under a health bar, and instead runs on how many times you shot it with any weapon, 100 shots with the stock gun is the same damage to ceres ridley as 100 powerbombs, 100 missiles, or 100 hyperbeam shots
Apparently there used to be a patch posted on the Super Metroid speedrunning page that caused you to start out with 100% items on Ceres station, just like in this video. However, if you click on the link now, says the content is no longer available. Do you happen to have a working link for this patch? I really want to start out like a badass and curb-stomp my way through. Lol.
To edit, I looked it up and it says Hyper is 1000 (I knew that) but the other 3 beams together is 300? A super missile is 300. It takes 20 plasma/ice/wave charges to get Mother Brain to rainbow beam you. It takes more than 20 supers to do so... Which leaves me confused. I watch a lot of Zoast and Oats and swear I always heard Hyper is not much more than the plasma combos. Maybe the source I checked was incorrect on the damage I don't know. Also some bosses and enemies are weaker to certain beams and missiles and some have more resistance too so it could play in to that. I believe the main attraction to Hyper beam is no charge time. in the video the player hits MB about 27 times before getting Rainbow beamed (it's 20 of the other beams) so it's safe to say it's definitely less than 27 because the game couldn't catch up to the damage done. On the other hand it's 100 shots of Spazer/Ice/Wave charged.
A lot of people assume that the hyper beam is ultra powerful (many times more powerful than all other weapons) because that's how it appears after defeating Mother Brain in a normal playthrough. It gets that appearance because the exit rooms are scripted for the escape sequence - they have a special "exploding" state that replaces their normal walls and tiles with easily-destructible ones that respond to the hyper beam, and space pirate enemies that have just 1 HP and no special armor. So it really doesn't matter past the last phase of Mother Brain how much damage it does - everything is just scripted from that point on. So when you play the rest of the game with hyper beam equipped, it's actually disappointing to realize that not only is it a relatively unremarkable weapon, but it prevents you from playing the game normally because, among other things, it can't freeze enemies.
@@Numinor31 The practice hack has some resources. You can go to any save point whenever you want, you can get missiles, super missiles even when you are at Ceres Station. You can do thing as disable water physics, open all the doors, infinity missiles and super missiles and much more.
I love one shot with hyper beam to Croc, and he's like aw hell I'm not messing with this chick, into the acid lava I go!
I like how the spore boss gets shot by a Hyper beam and then nicely resumes to its default position and dies.
Ridley be taking that hyper beam like a boss eat your heart out mother brain
Ridley takes 100 hits no matter what you hit him with in both fights.

Don’t worry, i always let the animals die! Screw the lore in fusion where they live!

I did that section with wall jumping. It's HARD, but doable

If you didnt know: ridley in ceres actually only takes one damage and will flee after a set amount of hits instead of dying to damage

You didn’t save the animals 😢…
Very nice rom hack!
You didn't save the animals 😢
Poor animals 😢
Why was the hyper so trash vs Ridley at Ceres? like, super trash... 3 times the amount of shots the reg power beam takes
It's because you're not supposed to do it, so you need to hit Ridley 100 times, regardless of your weapons, or when you have low energy
You have to use over 50 attacks of anything like powerbombs, and super missiles.
the ceres ridley is the only super metroid boss that doesnt operate under a health bar, and instead runs on how many times you shot it with any weapon, 100 shots with the stock gun is the same damage to ceres ridley as 100 powerbombs, 100 missiles, or 100 hyperbeam shots

Can Samus be struck by mother brain's beam from behind her head?
I think you can't go behind mother brain's head, unless you use a glitch, but the beam would hit you anyway.

Not much, Hyper beam only does like 100 or 200 damage more than fully charged Plasma/Ice/Wave.

@@LudaChez when you charge a shot, it does 3x times damage, which means that each charge shot with the fully upgraded beam is doing 900 damage.
It will get MB one hit away from death, just performing the glitch normally.
