Stealin or Easy Livin are my favorite Uriah Heep cuts
"The Wizard" and "Easy Livin" are also great Uriah Heap songs.
Pilgrim, Birds Of Prey, Rainbow Demon, Look At Yourself, Sympathy
Oh yes, Easy living. And Sunrise and the magicians Birthday
You're the only reaction channel I follow whose ever reacted to this song, and I honestly didn't expect to ever see this band on a reaction channel. They aren't as revered these days as they should be, easily one of the top bands from the 70's
The US may have forgotten about them, but in the rest of the world they are rightly revered as a colossal, legendary cult band, play to big crowds and their most recent album "Living the dream" from 2018, got great reception from fans and reviewers alike. A new one will be released this fall.
The us miss everybody@@erikthompson619
One of the most underrated bands of all time July morning and circle of hands you need to check out
Also the song Salisbury from the album Salisbury. It's 16 minutes of progtastic goodness 😊
I also love „the park“
@@sylmyl the park ? Thought I knew all of early heep refresh my memory please
@@davidcoleman4291 what do you mean refresh your memory? look it up on youtube and listen.
@@sylmyl I do not know this tune , when was it released and what album. Not Salisbury is it. Wow freaked out , now sounds a little familiar gypsy in there some
"Stealing when I should have been Buying" is a banger!
"Sunrise" and "Magician's Birthday" always wind up being played at our familiy holiday dinners!
as well as The Wizard, Stealin....lol. list just goes on if you were there at the time, I doubt few can relate today, lol
Sunrise rocks!
Definitely Sunrise
Uriah Heep has a lot of hidden gems in their music catalogue. This is a band that deserves a lot more attention than it gets.
The Wizard is a great tune. Uriah Heep was huge in the 70's. They are still performing , but only the guitar player is an original member.
Yes they need to check out "The Wizard" lovely track.
Only the original bass player, Mick Box, is left. Ken Hensley, David Byron, Lee Kerslake and Gary Thane are all dead. Most everyone you see in the video has passed away....
@@pmb4200 Mick Box plays lead guitar. Gary Thain played bass, but he was not the original bassist. Paul Newton was the first bass player. Gary Thain would not join until "Demons and Wizards."
@@pmb4200 Mick Box is the guitar player, but otherwise you're right. Coincidentally, it's their 1977 lineup you see in the video, not the 1971 lineup who recorded the song. But regardless, four out of five in that 1977 lineup are in fact dead - just like the classic lineup. On the other hand, the bassist Paul Newton and drummer Keith Baker who you hear perform on the studio original on the audio, are in fact still alive.
Don't forget Rainbow Demon
"Look At Yourself" is one of their finest albums that includes the single Look At Yourself. Also a song that eerily reminds us of Deep Purples' "Child In Time," is "July Morning". I think you will both agree that it's a, BANGER! Love your channel and appreciate your reactions!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS EVER!
OLD DUDE HERE! ROCK ON, YOUNG CATS!
What an amazing band. Their body of work is very impressive . So many classics and hits. The 70’s and 80’s was such a great time to be alive.
Ooooh, interesting choice guys, cool song! They have a really great tune called "The Wizard" I think you might like!
Great music, great band. I'm 60 years old and I still enjoy listening to Uriah Heap 👍
In all my decades of music-hunting, I don't believe I'd ever gotten around to listening to these guys.
Definite potential, will have to dive down that rabbit-hole directly. 🙃
72 years old. Uriah Heep saw in California in 1972. They opened for Deep Purple, Buddy Miles second, then thankfully. Uriah blew everyone's minds, and souls that night. Many on LSD panicked due to Uriah's music and sonic concussion. People ran into walls, people, seating, just about anything but the Exits. The song ended the band waited till the pandemonium stopped. Played an unbelievably awesome set. Seen Deep Purple before and after that concert. My second favorite band, Blue Cheer first. 1966 heard BC. I always land on Blue Cheers; "SATURDAY FREEDOM"
Uriah heep had many great songs.
Gypsy, stealin' , look at yourself, on the rebound, easy livin' , july morning.
Lee kerslake played drums on Ozzys first solo album.
I like to the look on people's faces when they review Uriah Heep..... awesome.
they were one of the greatest bands of all time and had so many different sounds and were one of the first of their kind.💚🎸
Didn't expect this song from Uriah Heep they are a great band! "Stealin" is one of my favorites 😍
Totally agree, wish they would have been introduced to Stealin for their first Uriah Heep song.
Uriah Heep are Gods to me! Just an awesomely great band!
Paradise & The Spell. Two songs one after another, masterpiece!
Uriah Heep was one of those great bands from the 70s that unless you were there you wouldn't know a lot about but they had some great songs and were great musicians thanks for digging up all of these great bands from the 60s and 70s
Unusual choice for a Uriah Heep introduction. Most of their songs are much heavier. "Firefly" etc. "Wise man" being my fave
I wish you would react to Uriah Heep's The Wizard. A beautiful song. They did a lot of very beautiful songs!
Listen to The Wizard, Stealin', Gypsy or July Morning from the David Byron era. He was the original singer and in my opinion the best!. On Lady in Black it is keyboard player Ken Hensley who sings and plays acoustic guitar backed up by John Lawton. Uriah Heep are still playing but guitarist Mick Box are the only from their legendary period that are still alive. Gary Thain bass, Lee Kerslake drums, Ken Hensley keyboards and vocalist David Byron are all dead. RIP. Their vocal harmonies were something else. Just superb
Have to listen to Lucifer's Friend first album from 1970 to get a good feel for John Lawton voice
Uriah Heep was one of the heavy British bands that came out in the late 60's a long with, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple.
When Ozzy went solo (1980) after Black Sabbath, the bass player and drummer from this band joined him...
Excellent song!! Excellent band!!
"Lady in black" was released in 1970, long before Nirvana.
But now after you said it, I can see how Cobain's been influenced maybe :-)
"July morning" is their best, IMO, although a bit long (10 min. +).
One of the most unique intros ever - organ and guitar.
R.I.P. John Lawton 😢
Love your reactions, guys
@Bookhouse Boy "Lady in black" was in fact released in 1971.
Oh WOW... Uriah Heep classic tunes from 70's only found these in 1980 in a record store as teenager as a metal head and been a fan ever since some great tunes to hear from them hope you explore more too
This was the soundtrack of my childhood. I love them and Ken He slept solo stuff.
The classics are finally here! ))
Uriah heep have some great songs, I'll suggest:
Gypsy, Think it over, Come away Melinda, Sunrise
You should listen to their live performances from 1973. It features the vocalist David Byron, who in my opinion was their best front man. Some great songs would be "Sunrise", "Sweet Freedom", "July Morning".
The wizard by this band is very recommended ❤
GOOD SONG, another gem , very underrated tune!
If you guys liked this....next song should be "Look at Yourself".....it's awesome!!
"July Morning" too
Gypsy is my favourite song of theirs with one of the best rifs of all time and the organ. Wow
Need to listen to "Easy living "
I did not expect that someone would react to Uriah Heep! They were nderrated even at their time. July Morning is the best song.
try the magicians birthday, seconed half of it is a duel between a wizard and a devil guy, done via guitar its something else
Если что у них слушать, то "July Morning" ПРОСТО ОБЯЗАНЫ!!!!
Lady in black (the war) tank you guys, i love so much this song. From album Salisbury. Bye from italy
The most epic anthem of the entire 70s, gives me the chills to this day! They can play this at my funeral ...
was front row at one of their concerts last year and when this song game on the singing along was glorious
Heeps Magicians Birthday. Its a must !
R.I.P. Ken Hensley of Uriah Heep, who wrote & sang 'Lady in black'... also R.I.P. to Lee Kerslake (drums) & David Byron (vocals)
A great one by them that no one has done is Circle of Hands. You would love it.
They had the GREATEST album covers
Other Uriah Heep suggestions: July Morning, Stealin', Easy Livin', The Wizard, Bird of Prey, Gypsy are some classics. They are still active today and putting out good solid albums. Their personnel and sound has changed over the years with the times but now they are pretty true to their 70's roots again, though with only one original member.
Top tune. Love the vocals at the end and the deliberately soft accompaniment of the guitar so that the beautiful voice harmonisation wouldn't be over powered.
Thank you both for playing heep. Its really great to young people...appreciate and be really impressed with the past ie heep 🎵🎶🎸🎹i think lady in black was a big in Germany. The Germans have always loved heep..they were so underated and unique..great band saw them many times in 70s..with byron and Lawton ..both had magnificent voices...
Loved them. Could be really heavy...really...then Could do a song like. Lady in black..long live the past and 70s..god bless you both..heep forever 🎵🎶🎸🎸🎵
That song was so smooth and good. First time hearing that UH tune. 👍🏻
Ah love it. This was our trippin band back in the old mushroom days lol. I was in high school when these dudes were in their prime. Great music. They were big where i live in Canada. Many many great times listening to Uriah Heep.
"Look at yourself" deserves a reaction video
Good song! This is the 1st time I've heard it, too.
I love that your exploring alternative music
July Morning & Look at yourself are Uriah Heep classics
this has always been my favorite Uriah Heep song. i taught myself guitar in 1974 by using The Wizard. Great band. very under rated.
uriah heep was one of my favorite bands in high school. it was a long time ago but their music is still just as good. that was when their albums were new music.
This song and "Stealin'" are my favs from them.
This band is one of the progressive metal bands from the 70s. Great band and very under rated. My brother in law turned me on to these guys in 1973 and have been listening to them since. Remember the time this was written during the Vietnam war.
...I never heard this before. Very cool.
Uriah Heep is actually a major name in British rock... formed in the late 60's (named after an evil character in the novel 'David Copperfield' by Charles Dickens) by Mick Box (guitar), Ken Hensley (keys & guitar) and David Byron (vocals)...
Uriah Heep rose to fame in the early 70's w/ a mix of fantasy fiction & prog rock. Uriah Heep carried on in the 80's and 90's w/ new members... Mick Box is the only original member left today... Bernie Shaw is the current singer.
Their only link w/ Nirvana is the basic 'retro' rock sound of the 70's. Nirvana took that approach... but their inspirations came from Sabbath, early Beatles, early Zeppelin, early Aerosmith & Kiss...
Uriah Heep is one of my favorite bands. You have barely scratched the surface with "Lady in Black". Uriah Keep has a smorgasbord of musical talent. I would suggest "Easy Livin'" to start before diving into the musical adventures that they will take you on in the future!
Also Gypsy, July Morning, Return To Fantasy, Stealin' are staple Uriah Heep songs quite different to Lady In Black. There's so much good music from them and they have influenced a lot of bands.
" Magicians Birthday' is both an Air guitar, or air Drums masterpiece! just saying.
When music was music , and ment something. Best song ever
One of my favorite songs, yet not my favorite Uriah Heep song, that would be Stealin (I was stealin when I should of been buyin) or Easy Livin (this is a thing iv'e never known before). either one would be an excellent choice for a second Uriah Heep listen. Thanx.
Nice, this is actually my first time that it's also for me the first time hearing this song 👍
Mick Box is an old friend of mine, I jammed with his oldest son and brother in law a couple of weeks back.
Check Out "The Wizard" and "Steelin"" and Easy Livin"
Reaction to Uriah heep - Think it over, it's awesome
Lee Kerslake the drummer just passed away. He also played on Ozzy Osbourne's first solo album Blizzard of Oz.
“I think they influenced Nirvana”
Shoutout to Lex for the wisdom
One of my Top 10 bands of all time. This is a later incarnation! You should check out the original singer. Queen to me borrowed a lot of their harmonies. Check out the song The
Wizard!
I have excellent insight into music and vibes and meanings. Lex has more.
Esa rola es una obra de arte 🤘🇪🇨😈
WOW......you make me travel back in time.⏳
At that time period british music was all about wizards and knights and fair ladies and battles. Rock was influenced by folk, flutes in rock music was common. It was Lord of the Rings when it was still only a book, and the images were only in people's minds. Stairway to Heaven, and Jethro Tull are from this era.
This is actually a song about someone who is on a destructive path and someone (The Lady in Black) appears and takes the time to counsel them and gets them to change their lives for the better.
That big "DISCO" sign behind them is funny.
True classic, not to mention easy living!
If you do another song of this band I would strongly recommend "gypsy"
"Only the Young" is my favourite.
I really like these "reaction videos". It's like someone unknowing gets introduced to a higher truth. And was it any better, when we first, consciously, listened to this song or another? I mean, with me, when was it, in the mid ninties? The song already was more than 20 years old.
It's the same with movies. When did YOU see Matrix or Fightclub, and when did the Millenials see them, if ever.
Beautifully said!
The singer and writer Ken Hensley died last year. I think he was about 75. He was wonderful.
First time hearing a song for the first time on a reaction channel. Not bad.
It was the Beatles white album that help inspire Manson's crazy philosophy , I mean inspired the way the son of sam was inspired by his neighbors dog.
FYI: the name Uriah Heep was a character in the novel David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. I didn’t know that until I was reading the novel myself. The more you read the more references you will find in rock music. Another one is the band Steppenwolf, which was the title of a novel by Herman Hesse
Don't forget The Doors, which came from The Doors Of Perception by Aldous Huxley.
I love your vids, been seeing dozens of them by now, but this is my first entry. And a sad one, for me anyway. I just realized that everyone but the guitarist (if I am not mistaken) has died already. It was a fantastic band though, so many classic they have made. One of my favourite old school Hard Rock bands.
Only a day away from me making my yearly New Year's tweet that's a quote from a Uriah Heep song. Today is only yesterday's tomorrow.
Listen to the words! You always just listen to music!! Words are as important as music!
The Hollies "Long cool woman in a black dress"
A german favorite on every jukebox.
Bahahah crazy ZDF is a german tv station where they seemed to play
Finely some uriah heep my second favorite band thank you. You gotta do magicians birthday, what should be done, echoes in the dark and stealin.
You finally found something I've not heard! LOL
Interesting choice
I love Uriah Heep. My CB (I just realized you probably won't get the reference O well) was Rainbow Demon. Very deep dig, maybe try just scratching the surface with this one. Easy Livin probably got the most airtime.
This is one of the classic campfire songs
Magicians Birthday. First album i bought with my first pay packet. 1973.
URIAH HEEP LEGENDS
