Sorry for your loss. Take your time. For the supports: If you print on a XL anyway, use PETG for supporting PLA. It won't melt together while making good support. So it can be taken off way way easier.

That’s unfortunate news about your mom! Good you got to spend some time with her. Very tough times when someone takes ill over a longer period, but in a way it helps grief process over people who are where they’re just gone through heart attack accidents etc.
With the print as you are using the pla try petg as a support interface layer on the prusa it will just pop off super easily.
Just thinking with the iris try find a local glass blower they can do amazing things like this but in glass which will it more special for you.

If you use PETG for your supports when printing PLA (or PLA when printing PETG) supports come off very easily.

Why not print the petals on the XL with PETG supports…? It’s what a multimaterial printer is for! Then they will remove easily and cleanly. Try it, it’s super cool.

2 things: why is the support going through the leafs?
why not use PETG or else as support? thats what a MM machine is made for

Does the XL still string a lot more than the Bambu Lab with multi-color prints?
Thank you! I don't have issues with stringing on the XL anymore. But I do still have some issues with one of my toolheads not working occasionally. I've mainly been using the XL for large prints. Thanks!
@@tada3dprinting I’m glad to hear the stringing is gone. What did you do to fix the stringing issue? Is Prusa helping you fix the problematic print station?
If I am running anything that is multiple colors, I make sure the filament is dried or new. That wasn't something I dealt with much before. And I think the updated firmware has helped. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with the occasional print head problem. Thanks !

What is your distance between the support and the part mine always comes out looking ugly thank you for coming back
Just default settings. So on the XL I was using default .2 detail settings on the regular profile (not the IS). And on the Bambu, I was using .16 layer height profile. The under side isn't super pretty but because of the angle, it's not very noticeable. Thanks so much!
@@tada3dprinting i probaly did word it right the thing iam after or looking for is the setting that in slicer that determines the distants between the bottom of the part and the support your using sorry if i didnt explain it right

@@tada3dprinting iam working on a mk4 with the new firmware I just noticed on your Iris flower where your supports were the pedals weren’t all looking crappy so that why I asked you hope I didn’t bother you

@@tada3dprinting Yeggi can sometimes be an overload of models, but I have found it tends to find some good out of the ordinary models too.
I have found 3Drop for your cellphone is pretty nice too.
