HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 мар 2024
- 100's of cars have been abandoned on this plot, from old classics to new cars. We also found excavators and cement mixers! Parts and cars scattered everywhere. This is an abandoned barnfind heaven and we may have just bought an old rusty Mazda.
From Ford Sierra 4x4's to abandoned Porsches and all sat rotting on an old Farm.

Places like this fascinate and frustrate me in almost equal measure...
Well given scrap metal prices at the moment, it would pay the farmer to dispose of all the rubbish vehicles, and the tonnes of scrap metal lying about, it would probably make him a millionaire, and give him room to store the cars he wishes to keep inside in the dry
At least there are only 4 or 5 genuinely interesting cars there, amongst a load of worthless old crap. There are much worse places...
Don't look up the UK scrappage scheme car storage if you don't feel like crying...
Mental Illness at its peak
I never understand how people can be so unorganised, and leave potentially unicorn cars to rust away.
Not to be overly harsh, but have you seen the backyard of YCR's shop? :)
Nobody wants these cars because of the price they command and the work needed to restore them, we're talking anywhere from 5-30k just on the metal side of things (the bit that this channel does) depending what needs to be done.
Just sourcing parts is a headache most people don't want to go through. Not to speak of getting the tools and get good with said tools (sheet metal shaping, welding, etc)
From the looks of these cars, they were rotted already when he bought them.
Sitting outside in countryside like this the only danger is sun cracking dashboards and fading the paint, fresh rain water doesn't rot them nearly as much or fast as you'd think.
Rust develops on them a heck of a lot less than if they were in sheds in coastal cities or running on salted roads, the only better environment is hermetically sealed until restoration work starts.
Yeah the MR2s that sit there are worth something / the Mazda Mark 1 and 2 are worth something / Ford Sierra cars / some Mini cooper but thats mostly parts value not old enough some of them. then he had a landrover worth more in parts probaly unless the body is good. I mean to say it blunt for serten cars he has there car lovers / fans for them. I sadly wont have the money to fix 1 up but even if i had i would need to inspect the living hell out of what i would buy because some of those cars been sitting on the grass and weeds + they sit near metal and have moisture on them when it rains. So yeah not always good to buy something sitting in a field for to long. I think the better qeustion is what can you stil safe from his collection?
My thoughts exactly, acres of lost opportunities smugly mocked.
Junk collectors, thinking they may need it sometime in the future but never do.
Literally nothing will get used there shame
Places like that just make me itch to get all the junk and crap thrown out, and get the cars organised and if possible, under cover.
Such a shame to see them all rotting away.
Those cars deserve better! 😢 such a waste. Good luck with the build of the one you saved!
It must be great to buy cars ,and then leave them to rot away in a field, incredible 😢
Exactly. And that 4 wheel Reliant from his dead friend will never see the road again. why not sell it to give it another lease of life, his friend would prefer that I'm sure. That bloke has more money than brains and a hoarder mentality, I bet the house is stinking.
@@carltonbreezy I was thinking about that BMW, it looks like an Alpina 3.5, that should be saved
@@carltonbreezythe guy is a genius so doesn’t care to much as long as he has fun, he doesn’t need to sell anything just use his cars for FUN and racing down crail 1/4 mile strip so see when he gets plums like you saying that bollox it just bounces right off coz coz we all know ur well jel 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, he has his own wrecking yard. I can not imagine land being that cheep.
Christ the entitlement in these comments.
Anyone who ever dabbled with rust can tell you these cars were sod all WHEN and even BEFORE he bought them.
Well what a project. You are literaly the only blokes i know who's optimism is outweighed by your skills. Good luck with this project if you do it. Thanks for the wander.
An older man I’ve known for years has a similar situation on his property. I used to think it was such a waste to have so many cool cars just rotting away. Seeing how he lights up when he gets to talking about them helped me understand his mindset. It’s really no different than any other collection, and if you enjoy it and it’s not hurting anyone, go for it.
If he knows you or sees you need something he has, he’s more than willing to part with anything he has. He doesn’t advertise, but he does frequent different groups for cars he likes and offers help where he can.
Wow this has got to be your biggest challenge yet.... I am so looking forward to seeing the work start.
Just the most heartbreaking thing I've seen in ages. Poor cars deserve better.
What depressing weather and all those cars growing mould and rusting away ..
That's Scotland for you. I have a barn with 3 old cars in it and it feels wet inside most of the time due to the climate. Soul destroying
It would be , being a resident of a ex-british colony known for it warm weather , I'm always amazed at the weather and the amount of rust , when watching any of the RUclipsrs working on cars in the UK
What tropical part of the UK do you live
@mead6754 the warm weather ex-british colony being Sydney, Australia 😄
Right? That kind of storage can work on dry land in the South US, not on an island in the Atlantic.
MR2! MR2! Please go back and rescue the MR2s!
why? they're rev1's that are crap or ukdm rev3's.. There are still plenty OTR and available for purchase in UK and mr2 breakers that have many in worse condition than those in UK.
And all this time I thought MY yard was a shithole. I'm feeling much better about myself now, thank you.
And I was worried about 4 motorbikes in my garage
My thought excatly. Must make sure my wife watches to show her true hoarder!!!
LOL Rich best comment it is a Shithole 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was just about to say this lol. I only have a single car garage full of random bits
This Mazda is going to be one hell of a project. So looking forward to watching the progress of this build. I'm sure that it will tax your steel origami and cutting skills to the max.
I hope you enjoy the build as much as I think most of your followers will. Best of luck gents.
spare parts most likely
i'm a fan of the ford capri, my dad had one before i was born. it's my dream car and it's hurts so bad to see one rusting aways... "The car you always promise yourself" one day, one day i'll got one..
That 309 is awsome... if it's to low the just adjust the torsionbar and make it higher and go track it again.
What a lovely chap. He just can't resist adding another car can he?
What a shame you couldn't rescue the Reliant and the Citreon. I know they're not glamour cars like the BMW's, Porkers, Jags etc but they deserve a little love and attention too.
What is a “Citreon”?
@@e28forever30 It's very similar to a Citroen. Practically identical actually.
Impressive collection, I see a lot of angry people in the comments but anyone with experience can tell he got these things for dirt cheap, as most collectors do, and he's doing the right thing, selling when it pays off. Brave of him to go on camera too, not many in his field willing to do that in this day and age.
There's something to be said for people more busy with appearing picture perfect and all that instead of getting the cars they want, then they get angry, well, it's an issue of their own making, they could forgo luxuries and get one of these cars and restore it, instead they blame this guy.
Agreed, I quite like him tbh, proper motorsport man (multiple disciplines) and it's evident he knows what he has and when to sell. There's nothing out in the open thats a proper unicorn and you couldnt just go to car+classic or ebay and buy. I get what he's on about post covid too, feel for him there, it's hard to get the momentum back up again.
20:26 the vaquablaster is a smaller version of the one I have. It's great for cleaning alloy parts and even derusting brake parts etc. They are a big dollar machine here.
As for the Mazda ,a mate of mine bought one off ebay here in OZ years ago , just to get the engine. It's not a rotary engine but a Ford 351 Cleveland .... 😁
AH - was it BLUE at one stage in its life? I knew of one here in AUST with a 351 in it.
So many gems just forever forgotten and rotting away. At least you saved one of the more desirable of the bunch.
Yes... rescue the capri! As others have said it is sad they have been left out to rust and fall apart
Wow! Makes the Disaster Datsun look pretty good! Might need an 818 donor car for that one... Coupé's are rare as hens' teeth, but there are four doors around here in Scandinavia. I'll let you know if a suitable one pops up.
You have received an email
if you're restoring this, will be epic. I'll be in for the whole ride.
Good of you to shine a little light on this mans collection, I hope people looking for projects / parts catch on and get in contact. Much like you did, looking forward to seeing more of this.
Great video and best of luck restoring it, a deserving case. The Morris Minor was a '56 model, not '65 (split screen) and best if all, the video has confirmed I'm not a hoarder, just a collector. I'll get my wife to watch to place things into perspective!
Love the old RX’s- we miss so many of them vs them down under.
I'm so excited about this build! I cannot wait another episode of the build! Good luck guys!
Good on the fellow showing us his cars ,,great viewin guys something different
I can't imagine how many miles are you going to travel inside the workshop from this 'Spit' to the working table!!! Crazy challenge in progressssssssssss.
Had an RX3 Coupe when I was 18, great car. started looking for one about 20yrs but there was nothing to be found (in Scotland anyway). Maybe one will still turn up....... Great vid guys
Same.. sold it for not a lot with a Bridgeport 13b.nowadays worth a lot.. oh well
I also had an RX3 coupe back in the 90’s. Missed it so much I bought an RX2 20 years ago and shipped it over from Oz.
If you guys take this on then it will be absolutely insane....but thats why we all love watching. Go on .....please do it. Like Ryan said..nothing is impossible 😊
Hello Ryan 👋 captain yorkshire and everyone. I love this video of seeing everyone outside and looking at all the different kinds of cars so neat.
This is and always will be my favorite car of all time. I know you will bring it back to life thank you 🙏 👑💯
Remember the the lad on Toy Story who lived nextdoor to Andy, who tortured & dismembered toys, eventually killing them. Well this guy is like an adult version of him & his toys are cars.
If cars had souls and could speak they'd be like, noooooo, don't let him buy me! So very sad. I wouldn't want to be the person who clears up that place once he's passed away.
This video motivated me so much, I'll start cleaning my warehouse and post items on eBay ASAP!
I’ve 11 capri first one 3ltr e (YLG 113J ) when I was 17 years old my brother had his too loved them ever since but only 3 litres or later 2.8 .brill video your proper up north now lads ! 👍🏻😉😂reliant kitten 4 wheel wow. You mean you paid him for it 😳🙏🏻
Great vid! Love places like this.
My idea of heaven, what a beautiful property.
Lol..
We have thousands of those Mazda Rotarys here in Australia, in fact i saw a pristine one yesterday in the car park at the Bathurst race track. We called them the RX3. Those Savannah fronts are worth alot of money today because many people put them on the 808 which was almost the same car but without the rotary.
I think your are mental buying that car what a load of work I only hope it will be worth it I know it will be beautefull when finished best of luck I look forward to watch you transform it
Hi, been watching your channel for a while now and you have gave me the confidence to buy an old classic that needs welding etc. Have done a few small repairs , has gone ok but it seems to take me a long time. You have given me a huge amount of tips to help me with my project. You guys are fantasic with the repairs you make and make it look so easy............keep up the fantastic work, all the best Lee
Well... you can't complain this time. You've done it to yourself!
Personally, I'd have seen if he'd part with one or two of the MR2's!
I thought they would go for the BMW
They ain’t worth owt
My life!! You guys are either really brave or completely mad! That was one of the best videos ever, I didn't even know places like that still existed, great video look forward to seeing what you do to that one.
Mikey your an absolute legend pal and one of life’s good guys 😜
this makes me feel sad to see an Rx3 coupe in so bad condition, always wanted one but never could get my hands on a coupe. Having both my 1974 Rx4 coupe and my S1 1970 Rx2 coupe at home is something I cherish.
Nice to see this RX3. Very rare car by now.
A friend of mine races a RX3 with a RX8 wankel-engine in Belgian Historic Racing Competition.
My uncle ownes a 4-door RX3 in mint condition.
And he also ownes a 818 2-door that used to be my nephew's (other uncles son) first car before he bought his Sierra Cosworth in 1987.
How I would love to own an 818 2-door coupe. An RX3 is out of the question.
The rustbucket have all rusted away, as rare as they were from the beginning.
My dad had a new 929 LA2 Mazda back in the 1970's, looked years ahead of its time, with the twin headlights. Would be great to see one brought back to life, but man, that one looks rusty!
Now you know that if you restore that the series will be epic and if anyone has got the skill Steve it's you.
By the look of it you've bought some pare glass and emblems for your project. I wish you luck in what ever you decide for this old girl.
What an amazing challenge. Thanks for the video.
Wow😳😳😳. I saw realy fantastic and legendary cars. First Skyline and Mr 2....
what an adorable piece of .... yeah.... can´t wait to see what your´re gonna make out of it...
He Raced so much that He actually didnt Race at all... fucking Horder who runined that nice Cars...
👍🏼I detected a blue Citroen Ami 6 in the back in the hall at 18:13!
Love that!😍
Great channel,I‘ll subscribe!🍀
You’ve bought some patina there chaps!!
Man after me own heart
It's up to him what he spends his own money on👏
That is wonderland.
lads - the word BRAVE sprigs to mind - but what a classic! so glad you saved the rear window glass too - try getting one of those down at Autoglass 😂 good luck guys, cant wait to see you fixing it!
What a place!!! I don't know if to feel sad for the poor car or to be happy that it's off to a harley street car Surgeon to make her look beautiful again. Are we going to call her Mandy ❤❤❤. Joe
APART FROM THE FORD CAPRI’S,HE IS THE PROUD OWNER OF UNDESIRABLE JUNK😂
It saddens me he has so much space still and only 1 Capri.
So are ford's!😂
Saved another one, looking fwd to seeing more of it
It’s sad that 90% are scrap. But there are some gems hidden in there. I admire the fact he isn’t afraid to spend money to enjoy himself racing etc. looks like he needs a dam good clear out
vast majority were scrap when parked, look at them
So he buys working cars in good condition and lets them rot, whats the point of that....🤦🤦 Total waste..
The guy is a genius, just doesn't have the love for cars over cash 👍👍
Pointless and a waste brother!😬🙈🙈💀💀💀👎👎👎
And did you have other plans for how this gentleman is to spend his time and money?
He bought most for parts by the sounds of it
Hoarder
That is going to look real nice on display in your shop.
Unorganised chaotic shambles. But he came across as a happy man, and he rallies which is a bonus, so good for him.
Oh! This is going to be epic fun!!
So cool, restore it
Rusty Dreams
The definition of optimism. 👍
That mr2 is cool! Propper rally style build!
Wow.. one pf my favourite cars 😢
Man, you boys are brave! That’s a hell of a salvage job, sheesh!
I remember having a look at a rx3 coupe when i was in the uk around 2000?... around the sherwood forest area ... couldn't believe the rust..im from New Zealand... we were still driving them around the roads over here...
Now I’m hooked . You got to attempt it
Can’t believe you bought it 😲 hope it’s not as bad as it looks.
Actually looking forward to this restoration
I know a man do does the exact same. Fair play to him memories. Seems a nice bloke 😊
Love YCR’s skills !
Cant wait for the episode's of the progress on that project....one you bringing a rare car back from the dead and 2 your face kills me with the patch repairs and rust you find 😂😂😂😂
More cars, GREAT :- )
I had an RX3 in 1985, was still able to buy most trim and components from local dealer, Mazda maintained a very long parts chain to Australia.
Seemed like a jolly fella.
Well folks after I’d stopped crying and pissing me pant with excitement I’ve made a list of the stuff I’ll buy
You lads are great restorers of everything manky and do a superb job but I never thought for one minute I’d be watching a team of bloke who obviously have ball of kryptonite take on the remnants of what’s left of that Mazda but if anyone can do it it’s you lads great vids great work and a pleasure to watch thanks 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
That's a nice looking car
My late mums’s best friend bought in 1976, the same front end car. Did they do this model in a 4 door.
As I don’t remember it being a 2 door, but I do remember the reg OFR2P. Ina lovely blue.
"Can't sell that because my neighbour gave it to me." But I'll leave it to rot in a field instead. Madness
Very good father and son.
This Man has lost Control of his life
Psychological condition for real. There's no love for anything on wheels here, either a going on personal restoring project or a legit business for parts. A few YT channels focus on this kind of activities & everything at their place is tidy & organized, you could eat on the floor...
It doesn't make sense. 🥺
Another project. It will be a challenging rebuild🎉🎉
Oh how I wish I could see that little MAZDA restored - but - unlikely. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
That location must be heaven for you guys 😀
im looking forward to this build lol
He definitely loves his cars and brilliant find for you both.
more like hes delusional and is destroying all those cars
if he loved cars he shouldn’t have left them to rot and degrade like this.🤦♂️
Loves his cars,is your sight and sound a bit on the lesser side?
OMG some work there lad
Wow. That'll keep you busy for a bit
We are so lucky here in AUSTRALIA that we do not have salt and rust like that - HA - we would be crying if we saw that amount of rust - and you brave guys just 'grin and bear' it and get on with the job - HA. CHEERS from (no salt) AUSTRALIA.
Well Steve - that was a family holiday (and a half) - I thought an original engine would have helped - another disaster imported from north of the border- but glad you have something to keep Ryan busy for 18- 24 months!
Whenever a spare part is needed he got a whole used car, probably for the same price of the part by the looks of it 🙂. Looks more lika a junk yard than a collection but everyone is free to do what they like. In my vicinity there is a guy with 70+ citroens C5 scattered around the property, spare parts for life and got them for scrap value/free. Unfortunately there are many projects just rotting away, you can still hear the plans that will never be done, for most just 1-2 cars is enough for years of work..
I find it sad and disheartening that so many of these cars that have the potential to be restored are left to sit and let the elements eat away at them. Some of these cars are iconic, such as that MKII MR2 Turbo and that sick-looking 7-Series Bimmer!
Famous last words ‘I was gunna…’
[thought i was mad with 2 rusty projects but thats next level haha
