The plaque said Aloha Oe (pronounced a-lo-ha oy). Aloha Oe is actually a well known Hawaiian song written by then Princess Liliʻuokalani. She later became Queen and was the final reigning monarch before US businessmen, including the Dole plantation owner, illegally had her arrested & detained.
The song itself is very beautiful & touching. You should listen to it. Queen Liliʻuokalani wrote other songs in Zthe Hawaiian language also.

Thanks for sharing! May 6th this was recorded so it was a Saturday. No one is in the Business/Capitol district on the weekends. That's probably why. But uber busy and bustling on the weekdays and especially when Hawaii Pacific University is in session.

The beginning of this walk brings back memories, because I visited the Iolani Palace, banyan tree, King Kamehameha's Statue, and the governmental buildings. I didn't get to explore the commercial and financial centers, so it's quite interesting to see the contrast here compared to the touristy areas. 22:25 Nice to see the Aloha Tower up close, because I didn't get a chance to visit. be careful when you head to Pearl harbor as the NCIS pearl HQ is on those grounds also the japanese government sends envoys to do some work with the US military almost weekly. They did the honoring of pearl harbor last year with both sides doing the usual doing well greeting and such. its a big event that the US military and JSDF has there all the big brass and its very secure.
