    wonderful work I really like how you arranged everything an excellent result with only one gu-81m but I would be curious to see the electrical diagram anyway exceptional work

      Unfortunately i already chenged the setup to 2 tubes in parallel.
      I made a video about this and show there the schematics too (my newest video)
      But These are the schematics only for the double gu81m VTTC

    Awesome build - I think you are trying to vet to a max spark height like a QCW circuit - think you are at a good point already

      Yes i want these thick and warm sounding sword like arcs😁 thats actually really sketchy to maintain these arcs and also driving the tube to its limit output Power.
      Now i added a second tube, and these arcs are almost not possible. I think this requires really precise tuning.

      @I would try altering the top load - I noticed that VTTC’s use smaller top loads -Where as SSTC you calculate pi x diameter x length for area - skin effect and make a toroid of similar dimension - but no necessarily with a vacuum tube set up - also out put electrode length - which makes a difference too

      @Jonodrew1286 yes i know that. I have some different toploads here..also one where i work with aluminium Discs, that i can variyng by using more or less Discs and disc diameters🙂 yes the breakout does also make a difference, but i only have 3 ones. And 2 are used in a big and a small topload already

      @@marvswelt2587 so many considerations but I think you want bigger output you are hitting some good parameters now you either use a heftier tube 20 -26 amps @ 4-5KV or stick with what you have - a fine line between output and reliability especially CW operation 🤔

      @Jonodrew1286 yes the line is really fine and takes now more than 100 hours tuning and trying different primarys and feedbacks.
      I added now one gu81m in parallel to be able to push more current.. it works well and i have without much tuning 10cm more output.
      But everything now has to get rebuild and fine tuned now, to get the circuit back to this line again😅🙉

    Those doorkbob capaciors are rated for decoupling they are known to drift and they have higher ESL.
    You should get some of those soviet disc capaciors

      @@janno288 oh ok i didnt know that!
      they also not really precise at their capacitance.. this 0.6nF are actually 6.7nF
      But at the Shop where i got them, they claimed them as pulse capacitors.
      They also work great..
      But yeah when i find some of the soviet ones, i will try them🙂

    I would really be interested, could you attach a volt and ampmeter to the output of your MOT power supply?
    I want to see how much power is actually going into the resonant tank.

      @@janno288 i would love to do that too, but im a bit scared of killing my Voltmeter with RF or nasty kickback's
      I can mesure the powerdraw of the MOT's on their input.
      I know they are draw about 2,6 amps without load.

      @@marvswelt2587 Well thats what analog ampmeters and voltmeters are for.
      Get a 10V full deflection meter and add resistors in seried to make it 10kV full deflection.
      And get yourself a analog dc ampmeter 0-1A should be sufficient
      multimeters will not work for rf currents, they go crazy, they dont like it.

    You might consider getting a variac 3kVA ones are suitable for such coils
    The Inrush current pops youe house breaker

      Thats because theory is theory and not practice.
      When you only can work with theory on "dynamic" stuff, than you dont know what youre doing.
      Theory and practice is important! But only one of this, dont get you far.
      When you only know theory, you just can do things that are achieved by other people.. when you only learn by try and error, you have a hard time. And/or end up smoke you self with stuff like that..
      Im an electrician. And know a little theory, also how to stay alive with experimenting with stuff like this.
      But everything Else are hundreds of hours of work.

      @@blocksers6948 über Google wirst du einige grund Informationen dazu finden können.
      Grundsätzlich ist jedoch ein sehr ausführliches Verständnis über die Elektrotechnik und Sicherheitsmaßnahmen vorausgesetzt!
      Wenn das alles vorausgesetzt ist, steht dir dafür nichts im weg🙂 evtl. Werde ich über die Zeit über einige Videos ein paar grundlegende Dinge preisgeben. Stay save and have fun🙃

      @blocksers6948 eine vollständige und präzise Bauanleitung gibt es nicht! Bzw. Wird nicht/nicht gut funktionieren.
      Auf dem youtubekanal "tested to destruction" kannst du ein Video finden in dem die Frau von Steve arcs eine teslaspule nach seinem grundschaltplan nachbaut und auf anhieb einigermaßen funktioniert.
      Wenn du dort jedoch nicht alles absolut exakt einhälst wird sie kaum oder nicht funktionieren.
      Sogar lufttemperatur u. Luftfeuchtigkeit verändert die Performance merklich.
      Von daher ist es unabdingbar, die eigene schaltung gut zu durchblicken und zu kennen, um mit sehr eigenwilligen und dynamischen zicken und Tücken der VTTC fertig werden zu können🙂

      @@JohnTomlinson-g4x hmm good question.. so in my case i had the transformers and many capacitors for years sitting around my Workshop i had also all the wood and screws..also some other parts... the things i had to buy was the vacuum tubes, some special capacitors, wire for the secondary, wire for the primary, topload, resistors and little parts.. that cost me around 250-300€
      When i would want to buy everything New, i think this will easy go up to 600€
      Expensive is also all the experimenting with different primary coils that i had to Wind...that was eventually around 50€ for different cables.

      @@JohnTomlinson-g4x ah also forgot to mention the bunch of plastic tubes.. These are really cheap..but i also experimented trough many of them..so + 30€

      @@janno288 to be honest, you are not alone with that.
      VTTC's can be super sketchy! I had quite many problems to solve too.. i wound about 8 primarys in total, easy 25 feedback windings, maaaaany many different feedback cap/resistor combinations.
      Tried 3 different secondarys etc...
      I think i worked over 100 hours straight only on tuning and different combinations.
      I can try to do a video about what i learned out of that project when you want🙂

      ​@@janno288 i measured now the input current of the MOT's and they draw 4,2 amps at full Power.. so its about 966 Watts 😊
      Thats actually really efficient !!
