  • In this video, I repair and restore a very dirty Pioneer SX-990 audio receiver which was made in 1970. I hope you enjoy the video and I thank you for watching!
This is my very first attempt at many things all at once. The first challenge is learning how to use Davinci Resolve to create videos. The second and continuing challenge is learning the actual filming process and learning about mics, angles, and lighting. Fun stuff indeed.

They certainly do. I was going to give this one to a family member but she passed away unexpectedly. Now, I don't know if I want to hang onto it or just sell it and get it out of the house.

I would replace all trimmers, they fail often. In my SX-990 I used BC161/141 for TO-39 transistors. Good job!

That is a great idea Paul. Not sure why I didn't think of that. Thank you!

Hi Wil, Excellent vid! What is the frequency of your Ultrasonic cleaner? I have damaged some solid aluminum knobs using an ultrasonic cleaner that is 40kHz (55c for 20 min) and read that you need 78kHz for aluminum.

Hi Steve, it's 40kHz. I haven't heard about the 78kHz cleaners so I will look into that. Thank you for watching and the comment!
