I love it. I'm not big into labels, but if listening to "incel music" creates a "leave me alone" vibe - then mission accomplished.
"incel music" is just more "sensitive" or "arty" music that jocks don't listen to in his definition. So the thing that makes something "incel" is most anything that would make music interesting to me... like emotions other than aggression. I feel like in the 90s there was more crossover between the music the art kids and the jocks listened to, then it went super tribal with the jock buttrock / generic heavy music fan vs art-school hipster indie fan. The early grunge ere was nicely in the middle.
I think the actual incels are more people who like the more "masculine" music but aren't actually masculine. Like modern 20-somethings who just play video games and don't care about health or appearances at all. You can criticize 2000s metro-sexuals for being annoying and pretentious sometimes, but most did get married because there's more to male attractiveness than being "chad".

anecdotally i cant argue with this stereotype lol. I got into megadeth when i was like 13 in 2007, it pretty much introduced me to non-radio metal. 15 years later and I cant remember the last time i listened to them. But my dad is 55 and still loves his thrash lol.
Megadeth has that fanbase because they haven’t done anything cool since Marty Friedman left. It’s either just angry kids who stumbled on their music by accident or the old core fans from the 80’s. Dave Mustaine himself has some massive incel vibes.

The problem with Weezer being the "ultimate incel band" is that they are a really just a mainstream pop-rock band in the vein of Green Day, Foo Fighters etc at this point. Plenty of well-adjusted / happily married people like Weezer because they heard "Island In The Sun" on the radio when they were in college. Then there are "Weezer nerds" who think that the blue album is the greatest record ever made and who will talk your ear off about which songs and periods of the band's history are worthy of praise or scorn. Those are the incels. Weezer nerds are the ska fans of mainstream pop-rock fans. They are essentially ruining Weezer for the rest of us.

I instantly think of Dream Theater when I think of incel music. Especially the ones that play (and always suck at) guitar and honestly, unironically think of John Petrucci as the pinnacle of music and will say shit like "Oh Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe"? That shit aint hard. Try *insert any Dream Theater song*, thats real difficulty. " when in reality they can't play either and can barely even play their own songs they write that sound like Iron Maiden rip offs. These dudes more likely than will incessantly practice pentatonic or phyrigian/harmonic minor lines, and arpeggios but instantly sound like shit without distortion covering their sloppiness.

Petrucci is an incredible player for sure, the problem is I never heard of him or his band until I started playing guitar. I could put Yngwie or Joe Bonamassa in this category too. Incredible musical talents with no true hit songs.

Nah, a girl got fingerblasted to Enter Shikari. It was back behind the community college theater with the guy being the theater sound tech and the girl being the mildly overweight girl every guy in the production had sex with at least once. Definitely was clumsy/awkward, but it happened.

I think one of the biggest incel fans are the ones who despise rap and think that rock is like the only genre that should exist.

Ngl this is kinda sad considering it shows how much rock and metal music has fallen out of the mainstream because of the way fans act. It’s become a big sausage nerd incel fest in my opinion. Rock and metal needs the machismo and finesse that once appealed to women from the 60s through the 80s, with a mixture of something new and fresh.
