I listened a little more closely to the lyrics of the song... Pretty eerie, really. "I can tell you lies, and you can't get enough." The way the chord progression falls backwards, into a lower (more minor?) place at the chorus feels like a villainous reveal.
Yeah almost all their music has some eerie undertones to the lyrics. Heck some are a bit ruthless even haha. They may sound upbeat, but they lyrics are pretty dark.
I just went to their concert last night in Dallas, she definitely didn't seem nervous, and she moved around quite a bit. She loves to twirl the microphone cable though :)
Saw them at San Siro Stadium in Milan few days ago supporting Depeche Mode. I've been completely surprised by their music and by her lovely voice. I've never heard from them even, and I live in Scotland! Waiting for September! Congratulations

you can barely even TELL this is live. how awesome. i like the way the chorus sounds in comparison to the verses better in this than the studio version though. it sounds more powerful. the studio version just sorta sounds the same, but it gets louder and heavier here. thats how i hear it anyway.
In fairness, at a lot of shows all I can muster is a really enthusiastic head nod, but I'm usually soaking up everything on the stage that I can. The exception is ska shows, because dancin' is mandatory.
