So, I’m not crazy for trying to pimp out a classic song
At 25 years old it’s the humane thing to do

But after 700 covers and 1800 shows

We voted to pull the plug and euthanize LINOLEUM
I think I was born into this world just to piss people off
So, I’m doin’ what no smart band ever would
I’m taking our one well known song and trying to make it not very good
LinOLDlium never meant anything to me
I never even wrote a chorus
Just verses and a bridge
It’s like bulldozing a bowling alley for a used record store
Decomposing your best song is sacrilege
But when most Hopeless bands (Avenged Sevenfold) play it wrong
And it’s in Le Tigre’s best song
And it was the last song that Tony ever played
It’s time to put Linoleum out to stud and make sure that it gets laid
That’s me and I got a new kitchen floor
But I still sleep with a close friend
The leather trunk next to my bed
That’s me on the street and I’m walking with my kid

That is how genius fatty is, one of greatest punk rock song writer.
This is why I'll never quit listening punk music. Every single one of us picked up an instrument and played these songs at one point in our lives. We probably sucked at it, yet it was the point. Never felt alone and disconnected ever since that day. The friendship and the sense of belonging in the punk music, and the punk scene in general, made me who I am today. Thanks to NOFX and all the other great punk bands for being the glue that holds all the misfit kids in the world together and strong. Greetings and love from Turkey, oi to the world!

This song always moves me... by the same tone of the linoleum, by my life that changed in the same way since I first heard NOFX in 1992 with 'Death of John Smith' on that 'The Longest Line' EP... how my life used to be sleeping on the floor at after parties, and today with my son running by my side as I write this message. Thank you NOFX!! We said goodbye in Barcelona in grand style!
SURF CALAVERA here, I was putting music to my son to go to bed and suddenly RUclips recommends this to me, the two groups that I have listened to the most in my life (and that I carry on my skin) include us in this incredible tribute to this hymn, I have no words to describe what I feel, I am still shaking with emotion, we played this song in a show in the Canary Islands in Spain, we were very young and we sounded pretty bad, but we had a great time, a lot of fun, infinit thanks for this cosmic connection

Glad to see my stage at 0:41 made it on this great video! It was a tribute concert to NOFX, Rancid and Bad Religion and the band (Golliwog) that covered NOFX played Linoleum twice because the audience wanted more. Good times!

Nofx is the only band that do everything they can to appear totally demented and yet seem cursed by a huge amount of depth that their music carries out.
This is probably the smartest thing ever written about NOFX.

As I've gotten older I've realised what a genius he is underneath that punk rock exterior
Fat Mike sometimes likes to appear as a douchebag (he sometimes is one, but it's still funny here and there) but I think he's also very sensitive. Their (or mostly his, I guess) lyrics touch some really difficult topics and there are brilliant wordplays. Shortly speaking I admire his punk poetry and also I like the fact that he's so natural being himself with all the good stuff and bad stuff. He never pretended or posed anything.

There's no better example of what music really is about. It's awesome to see song covers being embraced like this and it's even more amazing to see how many people had a connection to Linoleum. This is the kind of stuff that makes me really appreciate every dimension of music.

My sister gave me "i herd they suck live" when she went away to college. I was 9 yrs old. Still listening today (32 yrs old). She listens still aswell but I always tell her im a bigger fan because ive been listening since i was 9. She started when she was in her teens lol.
33 y/o and this just killed me. Have fond memories of being off my head doing a barbershop quartet version with all my best buds. None of us have seen each other in about 13 years. Such is life

Years ago when my friends and I met fat mike back stage at warped tour, we told him we liked doing covers of NOFX songs. Mike said "Hey don't cover our music, make your own." and then he walked away to piss in his heiniken bottle. What a cool dude.
I like that way of thinking quite a lot. I play guitar and I eventually started learning more scales and chords rather than songs. I wanted the tools to create over the memory to mimic. In terms of technical progression, there is a lot of practice to be had learning songs, not taking that away.

I love that they left streetlight manifesto s cover off of here. Obviously because they didn't cover it poorly. Really it's one of the best covers of all time and Hands down it's my favorite. As far as this NoFX song goes? eh it's definitely not my favorite not by a longshot. But I absolutely love they are still making music and good music at that, long live NoFX!

I stayed up all night listening to NOFX many a time growing up. The thought of Fat Mike staying up all night listening to us is blowing my mind and warming my heart. I didn't get into NOFX until well after high school, and mentioned to one of my most punk friends how I felt like I was never really punk. She said, "no you were definitely punk, you just didn't know it"... One of the greatest compliments I've ever recieved.

This was a really great tribute video to all those bands that love NOFX enough to cover the song. It is one of my favorites of all time, rage screaming along to it over broken hearts, missed bills, speeding tickets, driving home at 3AM after a rad show in Austin...possessions may have never meant much, but this song sure does. I loved this video so much! Really, really cool. Also, never forget Tony Sly.

I really hope this record lives up to its name. Every song should be released as a single, licensed out to lame TV shows, movies, videogames. And then we all have the compilation of this moment in NOFX history. But its an album.
