I shared the exact same observations about the screen resembling Fiat Doblo and tricky to locate the rear gear with the shifter.I am not crazy about the car but the sound of the exhaust which struck me and I bought it. Responsiveness of the gas pedal is amazing

A car salesman who tells it warts and all, well done, one of the reasons I watch your podcast

I had one for about 4 months and moved it on,absolutely nothing wrong with the car but I wanted to like it more than I did just never really got on with it.
The chassis feels its age and is quite unrefined on our roads(not the cars fault).
I think I would go for the petrol next as the diesel was a bit tail happy in the wet maybe because of the weight distribution.
Great economy though if you don’t drive it on the door handles.

The Chrysler switchgear isn’t an issue. No one who is just a regular customer will know that and the car looks great and now diesel variants with average mileage for the year can be picked up from £14 to £19k which makes this a no brainier. And chicks will think you are a baller!

I agree the switchgear isn’t a problem. Unless you’re a car dealer or a motoring journalist you wouldn’t know the switchgear is from a Jeep Cherokee if, like me, you’ve never been inside a Jeep Cherokee.
I chose a Quattroporte over a Ghibli for one reason - for a car of this size there is insufficient legroom in the back for 4 adults. It is the car’s one genuine failing in my view.

I'm on a hunt for a new car (owner of BMW 3 series, ex Lexus IS200 owner) and definitely will consider Ghibli after what I saw in this video.

I had a 2014 diesel. I had it 7 years and I loved it. I drove over 100k in it myself, very few issues. MTC is a bit crap tho. Enough power for most situations but not a fast car, quite economical.

Alas, it suffers from cliff-face depreciation, high maintenance costs and I really can't be doing with that fake noise dome speaker on the exhaust system just to make it sound throaty. Apart from that it's lovely to look at!

I would be intrigued to know the view of someone who is familiar with both the 275bhp diesel Ghibli and the 325 petrol. Based on my own experience of driving other marques - turbo diesel vs. normally aspirated petrol - I have found the TD to be generally quicker in normal driving despite nominally lower power outputs.
The petrol versions have quicker 0-60 times and higher top speeds but these are not, in my view, a particularly good indicator of how quick a car is on the road. In my experience the TDs have greater torque developed from lowdown the rev range so have better mid range acceleration for overtaking and accelerating out of a corner.
So my question is - what do those experienced in driving both petrol and diesel versions of the Ghibli think - which is the quicker car in everyday driving?
