Serious I am sadden by today society. Game companies are afraid to invest alot of money into games like they did mafia 2, cause most gamers nowadays like quick action, they dont embrace the details and storyline

Why are people hating on this, even if people think it doesn't feel like a mafia game, it's still cool having a game based in the late 60s, and there has never been a new generation game based in the 60s before.

I like his appearance better in this demo than the final version.
It's absolutely nice to see enemies react to getting hit. Unlike other games where basically enemies are bullet sponges and only animate when they enter their death states.

exactly.. and not only does it add to the visuals but also affect the actual gameplay. GTA 4 tho had too much Euphoria physics for the models, made them look like drunk men 24/7.

yeah, it's reactive alright. But it hampers playability imo cause it starts to get annoying as time goes on. GTA V to me struck the perfect balance.
In the Mafia 3 I'm playing enemies don't react to getting hit and they're Terminators with no regard for their own health.

In what way? I love the series as well, but this was amazing
just a lamp where do I begin? Firstly, it looks more like GTA or Saints Row - too cartoon-like and over-the-top with no gritty realism.
Secondly, the gameplay, especially the driving, looks stiff and weird. The 'take-downs' look unnatural.
Thirdly, the fact that you play a member of the black mob makes no sense. I want to play as a member of the Italian/ Sicilian mafia. If the black guy worked for the Italians (non-Italians did work for the mob, but couldn't officially join) that would be great, but no. You have to fight against the Italians. This is not why people play the Mafia games.
The game is broken, the story looks awful. Everything about it looks bad.

Mafia 1 will always be the best one. The setting, story, characters and atmosphere are all gone and won't ever be the same it seems.

Wow i dont understand the hate in this comments section. Mafia 2's biggest criticism was that the world felt empty and there was nothing to do in it but push forward through the story. This seems to have fixed that.

He shoots standing sideways so it's harder for "bad guys" to hit him and A big guy like him can handle the recoil with one hand so why to expose the other hand as well if he's doing fine like that?
+EVO6reviews you can be as precise as shooting with one hand as with both, in both stances you are able to perfectly look throught the sight with no problems, the only problem would be the recoil, but as nico said, most of the soldiers and big guys can deal with the recoil of a .45 or 9mm handgun with no problems. btw, in ww2 all the soldiers were trained to shoot their handguns one handed, i don't know if that was still a thing in 'nam

Deadshot Mafia never claimed to be about the gameplay. Each installment was just bland. The narrative is fantastic, with great presentation and solid combat system. The things that's holding it back is poorly done mission structures.

+ahmad assi Mafia 2 graphics are still relevant (if on PC at least). This 60s concept is really good if you think about it, maybe it will grow on you. It takes one to really appreciate the decades.

Ubisoft Europe I do too but i literally can play through all of these levels like that in the game. The only difference i can tell are the enemy AI and graphics. Also the clothes but we're getting free dlc to allow us to change cloths and another free dlc to improve graphics on the Pro and Scorpio.

When it was over there wasn't anything left for anyone to find or identify. Vito then spent a decade tracking down those he thought responsible, finally turning to Lincoln Clay to seek his revenge. And sources in Mafioso Family aren't some rumors they are very authentic or else the one whom lies ll die! But that ll be another story if developers wanted to resurrect the character for another Mafia game then even hell break loose the character ll survive like we saw in recent Kingsmen movie where even after taking head shot through eye and lying down in pool of blood for a brief time Henry survived just because of some shitty Gel technology

This game is not bad.(Except the flipping and exploding cardboard boxes-uhm- I mean cars.) My only complaint is that this should not have been titled as Mafia 3. This is just trying to make sales by the title and appeal to most gamers possible (adding grenade launcher etc.). What made them think that players who liked being in one of the Italian mafias for two games would suddenly like to blast their heads off playing some random guy trying to build his own family. Seriously, this is not mafia. If the game had followed the story of the second and features like having your own men and taking over other families businesses that the godfather had were added, this game would've really been appreciated by most mafia fans. I mean why is it so hard to see that? Who comes up with ideas like this? This could've been a DLC or something not Mafia 3.

I was SO RELIEVED when I heard him say that the whole "cars explode when you hit them every time" thing was something that was only included for this footage and it won't happen like that in the final game. I would've HATED seeing that every single time I hit a car.

Preordered Mafia II and loved ot for the story, atmosphere and driving. But this looks like some experiment/spin off to try and reinvent the series. But I hope you are right.

+Young Knight The driving is so realistic in the first two. It looks horrible in Mafia III. The gameplay in Mafia II was good and bad. Needed polish,, the shooting wasn't the best,, the hand to hand combat was good but not perfect. The open world felt empty. But still a lovely game.
Yeah thats' what i mean the story was good but the game play was just ridiculous this one idk yet the game play looks decent imo but idk the story that much cause i haven't played it the driving looks alot smoother than gta that's for sure

This doesn't look like a Mafia game but it sure does look like a cool third person shooter with an interesting setting/art direction. Plus I love how smooth and ultra violent the mechanics look. I can pretend I'm in a 70's exploitation film.
I love how when he shoots someone, they act accordingly, like they might start limping, or moving around on the ground when shot in the stomach, i just love that (somewhat) realistic feel. If they don't keep that in the main game I will be very pissed off.

I have mixed feelings about this game so far. Although it is another Mafia game, I am disappointed to see the focus shift away from the Italian Mafia. The Italian Mafia has always been the one that most found interesting. I don't know how many people care about the black mob whatsoever. I guess they were aiming for diversity but I would have much rather seen the protagonist at least have a bigger role with the Italian Mafia rather than fighting against them as part of the black mob. Also the protagonist seems hyper-violent and angry, which are not the characteristics I look for in a protagonist. This game is definitely going for the anti-hero approach but they might be taking it a little too far. I still plan to play this game before making a full judgement but my excitement for this game is definitely lacking. After all I'm looking for a game to follow in the footsteps of Mafia 2 and LA Noire and this game is definitely not it.
I honestly don't care about the ethnicity if it has mobster characteristics I don't mind I feel like this game is strongly about the Mafia just in a different point a view also I can understand why he's angry cause he finally found his family and it was all taken from him now he's a big threat cause he's making an entire mob of his own which I like

the graphics are very beautiful, the gameplay is really good, and i love the environment. If the story is good and there's alot more to do in free roam, then this game will be very successful
Looks kinda generic, save for that drive like a madman mechanic. If you could assemble your own mob and lead them on assaults on the other guys territory, that would be something that could help the game carve out a place for itself. Right now it just looks like a bog standard cover shooter. Hope they build on it.
