its been 3 years now, you happy with the machine? have any parts worn or needed replacement? if you had to do it again would you have gone with a bigger machine? i manufacture custom cabinetry and im about move into cnc production. curious what you think after a few years of use.

the mdf suction board thing was most suprising to me. I thought you'd lose all your clamping pressure

If you think about it, atmospheric pressure is (roughly) 14.6 lbs. per square inch. If you create a vacuum under a 4' x 8' piece of plywood, you have over 67,000 lbs. of pressure holding that sheet down. Of course, it's not a PERFECT vacuum, but even if you had 1/3 of the possible vacuum pressure, you still have over 20,000 lbs of pressure.

I’m in the market for a machine like this and been doing a lot of research. Have you had a chance to use it much and how difficult was it to learn to use it? Also wondering if you considered any other brands like CAMaster, seems to be about the same price? Thanks

Mike Fuson I have used the machine a significant amount and I am extremely happy with it. I went with ShopBot due to their well known lifetime customer support

Richard Shaw you can opt for a standard 4x8 version without the atc and vacuum table for 15k. There are lot of customization's that increases the price.

@4:09 looks like you would've been lost without chris. This isn't giving me confidence that i can assemble this by myself.

MySchizo Buddy nope, super easy to do. Just plumbing the spindle.

Having the factory rep present makes the assembly quicker and easier but is not essential. We had a rep set up our machine (a larger machine with fewer options) but when we needed to relocate the machine, we did it ourselves. You just need to take the time to make sure everything is straight, parallel, and square enough for your needs.
