Loved this video! You put into words exactly what I've been feeling when it comes to discourse surrounding the booktok community, both good and bad. It can be so frustrating to have the main stream critique center around the idea of reader hypers**uality while other, actually valid, critiques like the ones you mentioned are rarely spoken about on such a wide scale. Also, wanted to mention my favorite book series as a rec! It's the Dragonkin series by G.A. Aiken, and I think it's definitely deserving of more love. There's nine books in total and each book is a standalone within a larger, overarching high fantasy plot that spans multiple years. The series is full of sassy dragon shifters, badass intelligent women, and some of the funniest character/family dynamics I've ever read. Would 10/10 recommend if you're in the market for a new series to check out. They aren't available on KU sadly, but they are available in pretty reasonably priced digital bundles on Amazon.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! After googling I have definitely put this on my list!! It's available in Canada for KU so that's a plus! If you like that series I definitely recommend the Tempting Monsters Trilogy by Katherine Moon if you haven't already checked it out! Absolutely love it!
