has anyone told them that there is a Rock version of this on the album? Also, can't wait till you guys react to Megaverse. like needs to happen yesterday, lol. as for the setting, they have a Making of for this. its in a arena. As for the meaning, the big monsters represent stage fright, and stray kids and the different sets (Pirates, Dark Knight, Mad Max, Attack on Titan), represent different emotions that are going through the kids head as the perform, with pleasure winning in the end as they defeat stage fright and give a great performance (standing ovation at the end).
the pirate concept is based on one piece, yes! there's also joker undertones (at the bank)! the MV itself is a representation of stage fright & overcoming it. stray kids are portrayed to be inside of the kids' (who are on stage) minds, as shown at the end where they all look up. this song also has a rock version, as expected! i can understand the confusion about the pirate concept though, a lot of people were. everything about this was incredible! the composition, the lyrics, the beats, the choreography, the drones, the visuals, the vocals! they outdid themselves this comeback! i suggest LALALALA rock version & MEGAVERSE next!
One of my most fave songs by Stray Kids. I don't know how they do it every time. They are next level. Song written by 3RACHA and produced by 3RACHA and Versachoi... absolutely brilliant
The video shows the emotions that are battling within the young boys a they perform on stage. These are represented by different sets and Chinese Characters. I now believe the movie references are The Dark Knight, One Piece, Attack on Titan and Mad Max. As they perform they slowly overcome the emotions of Anger, Sorrow and Anxiety leaving Joy/Pleasure to be the last one standing Moral to the MV, whatever you do in life, don't let the negative emotions overpower you and not allow you to find the positive. Whatever you do in life ENJOY (A quote from Channies father, wise man that one)
Yes, The Dark Knight but the other movie references are Pirates of the Caribbean (you can see Lee Know move his arms like Captain Jack Sparrow) and the gold and black outfits are based on Mad Max: Fury Road. There's a masked guy playing a guitar with sparks coming out of it l, plus a bunch of ATVs. I don't know if someone already mentioned the themes are emotions ans all drop away except Joy (Mad Max). Pirates was Anger, Joker bank robbery was Happyness, the white outfits were sorrow. The giants also represented emotions that later disappeared. So the 8 little kids faced all of the emotions before performing and they also represent SKZ on the path of their career.
To be precise, Stray Kids used the Pirates theme in 2020 in 𝙐𝙣𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙠: 𝙂𝙊 𝙇𝙄𝙑𝙀 𝙄𝙉 𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙀 Beyond live and a whole song in 2017. They don't need to copy anyone...😊
Thank you guys for reacting to this song. You should react to the behind scenes on the making of this m/v. Fun Fact: This song is one they had for a long time and were going to make it as a B-side track, but as they were filming the m/v Changbin called the big heads and asked for them to make this the title track for Rock Star. The story of the song is the little band guys there is 8 of them representing the younger version of Stray Kids. The different scenes and the monster is all about your fears and anxieties and stage freight you get. What has me scratching my brain is in the end. Are Stray Kids remembering their past self's. Lee Know kindof explains it on the video of them reacting to this video. Most of all it is about overcoming your fears and anxieties and just feel the music and be free, and joyfull. The song has a lot of words with double meaning. It is named of a Chinese symbol meaning joyful or pleasure pronounced Rak sounds like Rock. The name of the album is Rock Star. Please check out Megaverse m/v and they also have a live performance of song Leave also on the album along with a rock version of LaLaLaLa with more guitar sounds and a Korean version of Super Bowl (from Japanese album). 2 other songs are Complex and Cover Me written by Hyunjin, Bang Chan, & Nickko Young. This album hitting #1 on the Billboard 200 for the 4th consecutive time for stray kids. i look forward to your take on the rest of the tracks for this album. It has been an amazing year for stray kids as a whole but also for the individual members. Felix becoming Korean ambassador for Louis Vuitton and making waves for the new LV fashion direct Pharrell Williams show casing is 2024 mes collection in Hong Kong. Yes, you heard it right Pharrell Williams the singer / rapper / song writer / producer and fashion entrepreneur is the new LV fashion director. At the Hong Kong mens fashion Felix was seen with some big names in fashion, Korean actors and more. Also Hyunjin was named global ambassador for Versace and sparking a collaboration with Troye Sivan. Their popularity has grown enormous this year. I am very happy for Stray Kids success and loving every minute of their songs..
This SKZ comeback is killing me and I'm here for it, as one of my wreckers aka Han ( I tried to keep him on a tight leash but he broke from it lol) has joined my other two biases Felix and Hyunjin (now i have 3) and my wreckers wrecker Lee Know has joined Changbin as a wrecker. I am in love with the pirate\purge theme throughout the MV as its more like they are trying to show people no matter what they wont change as they give people like me hope that we can just be who we are. the lyrics are also amazing as ever as I had ever since the teaser, lalalala la lalalala stuck in my head when I wake up and wen I go to sleep. The beat is also super catchy as its a beat that's the type to get you hyped up and ready for anything. On a side note i love Han wearing the clown mask as I could tell it was him just by looking at his eyes. also I just wanted to say i love the choreo and learning it myself and i also love the rapping and vocals in the song aswell. also i love the rock sound as if it wasnt for kpop i wouldnt be into rock type music at all and talking bout the music i love the drums and the guitars also i love how chaotic but natural it all looks.
20:19 they filmed this entire music video in the Olympic Gymnastic Stadium in Seoul, which is actually right near JYPE’s building! They have a behind the scenes docuseries where they show the construction of the set, and I recognized the inside of the stadium from where they practiced for their Wolfgang performance on Kingdom. In the behind the scenes for Wolfgang, they say it’s the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium😄
Stray kids sound design is amazing. I think what keeps me loving them is that they always do something entirely different. There’s not one song they have that sounds the same as their others. I feel the creative process in their production. I think there’s something fundamentally different from singing a song vs writing, producing, & sharing what you create and that’s like the key difference with stray kids. They absolutely love what they do and appreciate stays & each other & you can feel it in their music. Plus you can feel it while watching their MV’s and through the lyrics how well they mesh together. It’s like everyone from the production, staff, crew, directors, etc. understand the vibe & story they’re trying to tell. Everything they do just screams, we are stray kids.
Really enjoyed your take on this! Please do Megaverse next as they released a MV for it. I agree with you guys btw, even tho stray kids have played on huge western platforms this year (billboard, us mtv) their lyrics still remain kpop/korean concepts within it
Stray kids always said that they dont want to produce songs/make music just for the sake of making music. They want to put out music that represents them, music that shows who they are. Music that they can be proud of. As Bang Chan said, if the listeners can say that Stray Kids’ songs have some kind of effect on their lives, if not much, just a little, then that would be really great.
Glad to see you guys reacting to LALALALA, I was looking for it a few days ago. Giggling at the way SKZ left you a bit speechless 🤭🫶 It's a great song, the opening before the vocals come in is so crazy addicting. Very different and very Stray Kids
My favorite thing about Stray Kids is that yes, they have these bombastic title tracks, but they don’t limit themselves to one genre for their b-sides or solo tracks or SKZ-Player/Record tracks. These guys just love making _music_ no matter what style it comes in, and their passion for it just shines. They don’t box themselves into “what works” or “what’s trendy,” they just make what they want to.
Essentially stray kids are the emotions inside the kids minds (eyes are the windows to our minds/soul hence the in and out of eye views/angles)...and joy is the end result/goal...they're stealing joy and taking it to the joy bank while they're over coming anxiety, anger etc (the symbols represent the emotions) to overcome stage fright and just rock/enjoy...that's a simple breakdown. But yes there are references to the movies/shows you mentioned...I recommend always checking out their behind the scenes to MVs and their studio recording sessions as they talk about all of those things here and there...especially in their chat about the album before realeses usually titled intro 5star / intro Rock Star etc
If you like seeing their producing they have many videos that show them producing not only this album but also their are videos where they talk about the songs in their albums they are so worth the watch to appreciate what they do!❤️
There are two videos that go behind the scenes for this: a documentary and MV making film. "락 (樂) (LALALALA)" M/V | [Stray Kids : Docuseries] and Stray Kids "락 (樂) (LALALALA)" M/V & "樂-STAR" Prologue MAKING FILM
Stray Kids released 'MEGAVERSE' Video. EPIK HIGH's TABLO appeared in the Video. EPIK HIGH is a Korean hip-hop trip which is composed of 3 members : DJ Tukutz, Tablo and Mithra Jin.
They all have producer credits now. KOMCA (Korean Music Copyright Association) numbers... @prmtv Actually, 3 RACHA do not have a hand in every Stray. Kids related song. DEEP END by Felix was actually produced by Sim Eun Ji. Who is a Jyp producer. She also helped Felix to compose it. I am finding things more and more interesting as i look deeper into things. I thought for sure the boys were not AI and they would need help at times. They are indeed human after all and so much more relatable
You definitely should watch the album intros where they talk about the songs and production. Also, this MV has a little docuseries where the director takes you though the MV. They built a set in a stadium.
Wait till you hear the rock version. Hehehehe...... The song is about overcoming fears. The kids' fear and anxiety (the monsters). Those chinese symbols that we disappearing was them beating it.....Stray Kids helped them.
Love your reactions! Stray kids really are a thing of their own and i strongly agree with all your comments! Aldo they do have s video on making this mv! I think it’ll answer most of ur questions!
Understanding the MV needs a lot of background which skz provides, hence they even made a docuseries for it haha. Uve mentioned ateez and it has a two end reaction from fans, but as u say, skz makes things fresh. Their mala-genre makes it that any genre or even sample they touch will remind u of another group but its going to be wrapped in skz style. Some of their songs can even be nostalgic but because they add more of their unique signatures, it doesnt sound recycled. Like they even sampled their old songs in their new song Megaverse
Tienen que ver el video de introducción a ésta producción, dónde los chicos comentan como hicieron los temas y las grabaciones, de que trata cada música y quienes la escribieron. En éste MV usaron dron, algo que anteriormente no utilizaron.
You guys should watch the album intro they discuss the songs and their process and what it means. They also had a docuseries where they show how the set and the concept of the song were made. It was high budget and so amazing. Glad you liked the song. It was supposed to be a B-side of their last album but Changbin one of members of their producing unit decided to make it the title track of their next album. 😁
SKZ have a bunch of videos up on RUclips that can give you a glimpse into the behind the scenes for not just LALALALA, but the entire album. They touch on concept ideation, mv production, studio recordings, etc. The amount of content they pump out is actually insane. You end up going down a rabbit hole.. If you’re interested specifically in the MV, SKZ and the production staff including Bang Jae Yeob (who directs most of their title track MVs) break it down in the LALALALA “Stray Kids: Docuseries” video. The sets were all actually built in a huge ass arena. 💸 In the LALALALA/prologue “MAKING FILM” you’ll find out the motifs are taken from movies - specifically Max Max, Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Matrix, etc. Would love to get a reaction to the LALALALA Rock version and see how you compare the nuances in each!! ❤
If y'all are going to put promo audio for your artists songs in the middle of the video, warn us to turn our volume down or have it match the audio of the rest of the video please.

Exactly.
EXACTLY.
Thank you for emphasizing my thoughts all this time.
SKZ is A duality.
They make kpop but NOT JUST a kpop--never sounds too kpop-py, but still most kpop ever.
coz they blend all the additional elements SSOOO GOODDD, so on point to the core music intention and song's meaning it becomes one brand new sound--whereas most kpops, like, only adding bunches of those here and there felt like it's just a gimmick, just an influence to the main genre kpop.
so it's not a cliche if we say their music at some point IS beyond kpop.
it's not an exaggeration if we say they DO invent their formula MALATASTE (sub)genre.
it's not a lie they ARE 5-Star Michelin Chefs of kpop with all of those GOD'S MENUS they serve us.
