Better shadows, lighting, ray traced reflections, less shimmering artifacts, smooth surface edges, higher resolution at 60 fps, 3D audio, haptic feedback for ps5 controllers, all this for free. There really isn't anything to complain about
@@JudgeFudge57 most is subtle but the ray tracing kills frames. I find to contrasting to be a HUGE upgrade considering how mediocre it was before. Otherwise it looking like it did and running at 60fps on ps4 and it barely changing on ps5 but killing frames with ray tracing is just awful. It should've been an obvious feature they should've optimized when making the ps5 port. I'd have paid $10 for that rather than get a free version that felt almost exactly like the ps4 version. Still any upgrade is better than nothing. Plus the contrasting is highly looked over by most. It's all about "4k, ray tracing, and 60fps". And ALWAYS IN THAT ORDER. Red Dead Redemption 2 PISSED ME OFF for this reason alone. I HATE how 60 fps is ALWAYS the last thing to be thought about. I'd rather have a game run at 60fps with 1080p than one at 30 maybe even 45 fps and it have 4k. HDR is another thing that even now is hardly being implemented correctly. Most seem are finally learning these past 5-10 years so we're starting to see progress in video games. Hopefully story and level design will come next lol
The biggest change I can spot is in 3:35, or more specifically how the ceiling looks. I'd notice this a lot in the PS4 version with other shiny surfaces where it had this weird spotted effect. The section where it was most notable for me was the central area in the police station with the shiny beige floor, and that kinda threw me off a little. I don't know what's causing it, but luckily the PS5 version fixed it.
Do you know if it will look the same way if I just download the ps4 version from my Library once I get a ps5 or I still have to buy ps5 version for the fix?
The lighting and contrasting is probably the biggest improvement by far. Other than that most obvious change is the loading times. But for a game like this that's never really an issue. Considering they can get the ps4 pro to look almost as good as the ps5 version does currently there really shouldn't be any excuse as to why they can get ray tracing to run at a stable 60 frames at a variable 4k at least. Honestly I thought for sure that's what this upgrade would add. I mean wtf was the point of it otherwise?
@@captureinsidethesound it lags when you look at anything with Ray tracing. The other problem is 120fps lags too. It runs better with it off. Well for me anyway.....I didn't try lowering the resolution down on my ps5 though. It might look good if you try 1080p in ps5 settings with 120fps on.

So I played it yesterday on my PS5 after the update and I just can't tell the difference. If anything else with HDR on it looks more washed out than before. HDR will look washed out for many reasons. HDR isn't just plug-n-play. Calibration tools within the game are assuming you actually have a real HDR TV, as in 10-BIT with enough nits. Also, HDR TVs with Dark, Vivid, Movie and Bright settings should be set to the Dark setting for gaming because that's the more natural setting and what developers and well....movie editors target. @BIG DICK ClUTCH Not anymore I don't. Each console is less of an upgrade than the last. I only buy consoles for the exclusives. Raytracing is absolutely worthless.
In a few places like textures being higher resolution and some lightning areas that we're wonky in the original release, there's not a huge amount of differences.. infact, in some places it looks worse... Leon's shadow wasn't as visible there because the ps5 version was on a different animation, I think the ps5 upgrade for all of them is pretty good though, especially since its free, all of the things that bugged me from the original releases are gone now like the weird looking hair, weird pixilated reflections especially in RE2, textures taking ages to load in 7, better fire textures for 7, and the load times are almost non existent now which is a big plus for me.

I just had a question since it had updated graphics does this mean the Knife Damage from PS4 to PS5 had a difference? Since Knife Damage are superior weapons when it has a high frame rate.
That’s not a graphics issue, that’s a 30 fps animation issue.. this problem was present on PC as well but you can disable it so that the distant zombies run at full framerate!!! I don’t know why Capcom doesn’t fix this!!!
So let me elaborate so when it shows ps4 first it's washed out then when it shows ps5 it's not when it hits the vegetation part and then when it does the side by side it's vice versa like oh okay and before that it seems like the ps4 has the correct brightness and contrast setup and the ps5 was untouched and washed out like yeah okay the ps4 version left untouched looks the same with the washed out look so I mean yeah!
Well at least they fixed the most annoying issue which was those ugly ass reflections!!! And the frame rate was not necessarily 60 fps at all times on the PS4 version because I noticed it chugged a little at certain times and didn’t always feel smooth!!!
I decided to download the PS5 versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake and there's no difference at all I just delete them both and play the PS4 versions off my external hard drive to save space on my PS5 because these upgrades are worthless

Loa reflejos originales eran mejores. Lo que pasa que se rompían al girar la cámara. Con el raytracing se mantienen estables pero pierden muchos detalles que antes estaban.
The game is dark genre so there isn't much dynamic range to begin with to justify HDR. You will clip the bitdepth if you set your HDR to Vivid or Bright. The term Ray Tracing is misused in game. It's a RTLR feature from DirectX 12 so it's not translates over to the PS custom APIs in the same way and could actually gimp performance if the Engines doesn't natively support the feature, or at least AMDs way of processing it compared to NVIDIA (CUDA or TC)

Wow it pretty hard to make one of the best looking games look better, but they did
Main difference I can see is lighting, frame rate, and the hair looks a bit better on ps5
Mines bugged I have earned infinite weapons but not showing up in Ps5 at all on continue but if 8 play the ps4 version on same save point it’s all there. Messaged cap on but no answer so annoyed.
Not too much of a difference.
Does it have the dual sense features built in?
Yes it does
I see a slight difference between the two versions and it can make a little difference as well. I see PS 5 is a bit more polished with the graphics.Same can be said about GTA 5 when comparing the graphics on both PS 4 and 5 consoles
it doesn't look really that different imen the game already looks great so it don't really need that much of changes
Not getting ps5 till re4 releases. Not worth it yet
stop it.
You can't afford it
Yes it is worth it.
Next gen won’t come into its own until maybe the latter half of 2023.
There’s still not real reason to go out and buy one of these consoles.
It’s so worth it with all the upgrades many games have gotten. Oh and Demons Souls
Some of it looks better, some of it looks worse and some of it just looks different but not necessarily better.
has anyone test the load time ? is it faster in ps5 version ?
the stainless and everything that reflects is 100% accurate .. adds a lot more to the realism !
Ray tracing 😎
The best of the last RE games released.
Are you doing it with ray tracing on?
Pam: they are the same picture
Resolution? FPS?
There's 4k 120 fps, 4k 60 fps, and 4k with ray tracing, that's make the fps drops below 60
That’s weird because playing in my ps4 pro looks exactly the ps5 side of the video.
Can anyone see any difference? I can’t. Where should I be looking? Honestly I don’t see any difference whatsoever.
the biggest difference here is the ps5 lock in 70fps vs ps4 45-40 fps
Kinda crazy they accomplish this with 10+ years old cpu on the ps4.
It shows how spoiled and bad most game devs are these days.
ran like crap on base ps4.
@@redfirefox3568 ran better then cyperpunk 2077 on rtx3090....
@@redfirefox3568 and.. the ps4 and ps4 pro use same cpu
@@cyphercracker Cyberpunk runs great on PS5 as of right now.
@@cyphercracker 1080p 40fps on PS4 which was crap and 1620p 60fps on PS4 pro which was good. 2160p 120fps on PS5 which was awesome.
I don’t know about most people but to me this doesn’t seem that much eye catching
biggest improvement here is that i can double up on achievements lol
only problem, if you got the disc version it always shows 2 icons on homebar (one for installing the ps4 one), they just cant fix it. I only want to see the ps5 one 🤣
Delete ps4 version
@@Dani-69 it still shows the icon beside the ps5 it just says install instead of play
@@Dani-69 Well the issue is is that the ps4 version will always show up whenever you put the disc in.
You’d have to play them in person to see the difference.
I just had a question since it had updated graphics does this mean the Knife Damage from PS4 to PS5 had a difference?
Since Knife Damage are superior weapons when it has a high frame rate.
So is the draw distance better we won't see zombies stuttering like crazy from a distance. 😅
I still saw it in the ray tracing mode so probably not.
That’s not a graphics issue, that’s a 30 fps animation issue.. this problem was present on PC as well but you can disable it so that the distant zombies run at full framerate!!! I don’t know why Capcom doesn’t fix this!!!
That isn’t fixed unfortunately
@@Mr.Honest247 You can only disable it on PC?
So let me elaborate so when it shows ps4 first it's washed out then when it shows ps5 it's not when it hits the vegetation part and then when it does the side by side it's vice versa like oh okay and before that it seems like the ps4 has the correct brightness and contrast setup and the ps5 was untouched and washed out like yeah okay the ps4 version left untouched looks the same with the washed out look so I mean yeah!
Thanks for me diffirence is very big. It is like 4k vs 2k
Difference is like ps2 vs ps5 wow 👏
Some spots it actually looks worse. Like how are the blacks on the ps5 worse 4:33
it's called lighting.
PS4 has more contrast than PS5 version.
No significant difference.
Exactly the same.
Umm...
The fire looked better?
PS4 may remain our favourite console of all time.
Nah PS2 and PS1 already claimed that title. PS4 literally had no decent games except remasters and ports from PS3.
@@hajinka98_ 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@hajinka98_ PS4 has the biggest variety of games than any other console.
@@Old_Hunter_07 Biggest variety of bad games
@@hajinka98_ why man?
Well at least they fixed the most annoying issue which was those ugly ass reflections!!! And the frame rate was not necessarily 60 fps at all times on the PS4 version because I noticed it chugged a little at certain times and didn’t always feel smooth!!!
Was this on the og, or pro?
My storage is running low and the changes are minimal so it’ll stay as PS4 where i can put it in an external hard drive
Play the game on ps4 slim or pro with hdr 4k tv you will not notice any difference
Casi podía decir 1ue en este vídeo se ve mejor la versión de PS4 , es más nítido , la de ps5 parece que hay una niebla por medio todo el rato
PS4 or PS4 Pro vs PS5???
No noto diferencia, de hecho en algunas partes se ve mejor en ps4.
I decided to download the PS5 versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake and there's no difference at all I just delete them both and play the PS4 versions off my external hard drive to save space on my PS5 because these upgrades are worthless
Is this with ray tracing on or off?
On obviously
@@GameFormative It's not obvious.
The lighting looked hella nice
Yo que me perdone dios pero no lo veo mejor en la next gean, solo mejora el reflejo y el brillo de las luces, pero empeora bastante el rendimiento a pesar de usar el modo super resolution 1.0 de Amd...
Loa reflejos originales eran mejores. Lo que pasa que se rompían al girar la cámara. Con el raytracing se mantienen estables pero pierden muchos detalles que antes estaban.
Right there’s no really big improvement besides 60fps
The game is dark genre so there isn't much dynamic range to begin with to justify HDR. You will clip the bitdepth if you set your HDR to Vivid or Bright. The term Ray Tracing is misused in game. It's a RTLR feature from DirectX 12 so it's not translates over to the PS custom APIs in the same way and could actually gimp performance if the Engines doesn't natively support the feature, or at least AMDs way of processing it compared to NVIDIA (CUDA or TC)
Why does the Upgrade come so late, i already Played it 3 Times in a row
I came a month ago
For some reason the high resolution it lag me on the xbox series X
If you squint hard enough you'll see the difference lol 😆 😂
Not much of a difference really. But am I the only one that thinks the lighting and graphics are better on the ps4??? Ps5 version just looks brighter and a little more washed out..
I swear I see no difference but thats ok because PS4 was already perfect
This is actualy the first nextgen update, that makes it less gen.
Its darker, textures blurred. Definetly not a game that can be improved as simple.
Or youtube quality is misleading.
Well i will check tommorow.
Ive played on ps5 and it definitely looks better. It basically cleans up all the small rough areas, especially reflections.
@@MoutainMannPro Yeah I’d say the reflections were the main issue! As long as that’s fixed to the fullest, I’m pretty damn happy with that!
Not sure what you are looking at.
Can confirm just played the updated today after having played the PS4 version last night and can definitely tell the difference. Also loving the instant loading times.
They look the same. The only real difference is the fps.
