That sensor on the front of the magnetron is a high temp shutoff so they do not overheat. The board is what monitors for incorrect amperage for the microwave circuit.
One side is 2000v next to that is 2000v So it would be 4000 volts ! Mags seem to be the cooperate But sometimes high voltage transformers and other times low voltage transformers

How to you prefer to discharge the capacitor?
How did you determine how you had a bad magneto? Did you check the amperage a cross the fields?
