  • How To: First Oil Change on your Ariens snowblower. VERY easy to do with 2 simple hand tools.
    Ariens states to do your first oil change after "one month" of usage. I have around 4-6 hours on the engine and thought it was time for the first oil cgange. Will cgange again at the end of the season

    FYI : When checking the oil , check your manuals. (I have 2022 platinum 30 sho ) Mine says to tighten the cap down to check the oil level. Also my engine manual and ariens manual have some minor diffrences. Good video , well done. Maintaince is the key .😊

    That never occurred to me!!! . . .
    'There's no oil filter, so you need to change the oil often". I really need to take better care of my outdoor power equipment. Thanks for sharing this!

    That’s one awesome machine! I recently got the Platinum 24 SHO with 369cc but unfortunately haven’t had much snow to use it in yet. Maybe someday I’ll get one of these Professional model’s. I’ve watched your other videos of this machine and it’s a beast! Keep up the great vids!

    Nice to have such a well-created demonstration of this important function. Looking forward to seeing the John Franco's HSS 1332 race your Ariens 28 Professional Hydro EFI.

    First off great job videoing and explaining. FYI- always start any OHV motor and let it warm up at a low idle before cranking it up to full throttle. All the oil has drained out of the valve head and is cold. so head lubrication is hampered. These are only splash lubricated motors, I have seen motors damaged going full throttle on a cold start. Plus your first oil change is the most important since the motor is still polishing itself off internally, a higher quality oil should be used like Royal Purple 5w-30. For the minimal price of oil theirs no reason to skimp.

      Does it really matter if it’s royal purple? I picked up Castrol GTX

    I did the full service on mine before last winter with re greasing everything that needed it. I hate snowblower maintenance because its just a reminder of what's to come lol

    Nice machine and heated garage 👍🏽 Is the gas tank size on that machine adequately sized, I imagine it's more fuel efficient with the EFI. I have the Platinum 24 SHO, happy with the machine with the exception of the small fuel tank size for the 369cc engine size and the fuel cap design. The previous carbureted Briggs Polar Force engines had large fuel tanks, since Briggs going into chapter 11, Ariens seems to have gone exclusively with LCT engines on their snowblowers.

      Gas cap sucks.
      As far as the tank, it's large enough for me to do driveway in one fill. That's all that really matters to me

    Don`t worry about so called "cheap" oil. As long as it has the stamp on it, then it will be fine.

    Hi, I have a question, I have a short dipstick under the starter, what is it used for or what is its purpose, thanks

    • @Intervention302
      @Intervention302  3 года назад

      Pretty sure its crankcase vent

      @@Intervention302 Hay it has a dipstick on it and looks like a oil level check, you have it on the machine in the video, check it and see for yourself, it definitely is not a vent
