I drove 9 hours to go to this show. Slept in a car in a parking lot at Giant's stadium the night before. Originally this was supposed to be a camping music festival over a couple days in a field. But it was changed at the last minute to a one day event in a stadium. It also rained all day and was pretty darn cold for that time of the year. Waited all day, unable to leave the stadium to go out to my car, waiting for the headlining acts: Beastie Boys, followed by Beck, followed by Radiohead. Sat in the cold rain and got a killer Mix Master Mike 20 minute turntable set followed by the Beastie Boys. Beck is all ready to go and he gets hurt backstage. .. his set gets cancelled. Heartbroken, I am weary and drenched and shivering. I could not afford very many $7 beers or much of the expensive food over the course of the day. Finally, I get to see my first Radiohead performance... It was amazing, and finished the most exhausting concert I've ever attended. That is my story. Thanks for reading it.
I remember. I came in from California and got drenched. In hindsight, it was a perfect goodbye with Elliott Smith (rip), loved Blur and Radiohead but I wish I remembered more of the Beastie Boys- the only time I had the chance to see them. I'd do it again in a heart beat.
This is nothing short of sensational. Was lucky enough to see them open a show with it in Boston and I've never received chills like that at a gig. Ever.
thx... youtube is real slow today - still not showing the HQ version... hopefully soon! I hate to see the difference between what I uploaded and what it looks like at the moment...
oh I do... I also have a computer with a busted logic board :-( but the new one is coming in tomorrow! I need to convert the file into youtube-compatible format and I don't have this software 'on me' - will drop you a note when I get to it, ok?
