Cumbrian Silage Round-up 2023 (Part Two) Trailed, SP & Reverse-drive outfits. Fendt, Claas, NH, MF.

- Part Two of a compilation of my visits around the Cumbrian farming community rounding up various forage harvesting outfits at work during this summer . I managed to catch up with 9 outfits this year. Featuring in this video are a Fendt 828 and Reco Mengele SH40 reverse drive forager, Claas Jaguar 860, NH T7.210 & Kongskilde FCT1260 and a MF 6480 & JF FCT1050 trailed machine. I’ve managed to film 9 outfits at work this year so have had a great summer out filming in the fields. Next year I’m hoping to venture further afield, maybe over to West Cumbria and possibly even Northumberland so fingers crossed that will happen.
A couple of buckraking videos to follow in December for hopefully you to enjoy.

Brilliant video David, great to see the trailed and mounted forage harvesters at work, it's nice how many we still see in Cumbria compared to elsewhere!
We’re blessed aren’t we Jacob! I’m actually surprised how many I have seen this year, you lose count though seeing as the summer seems so short now it probably averages out at one a week so I’m really pleased I caught up with so many. Thankyou again my friend, cheers David

Yes always a good machine the JF, very reliable and still quite a few round here unlike the reverse drive, your correct there certainly aren’t many around now! Thanks again, cheers David

Cheers Steve. Yes they seem so long ago, roll on next summer! I’ve got a lot of catching up to do with your videos Steve as have been working some really long days these past couple of months so any time off I’ve just wanted to rest. Hi David, thanks for another great video to cheer us up during this awful weather. Was really interested to see the Fendt 828 and the Reco Mengele reverse drive forager. I had heard of them but never seen one in operation before. Must take a bit of getting used too especially if your used to using the tractor in conventional style, but it sure was getting the job done. Got to say I do love these Claas Jaguars as they just beast the grass, but that T7.210 and the Konskilde sure were holding their own too. Thanks David. Fraser.
Hi Fraser, yes the weather has been horrendous up here in Cumbria too so hopefully these compilations will remind us of summer that feels so long ago now! I loved watching that Fendt 828 and Reco forager, it was one of those moments when I got the phone call that I thought ‘I’ve got to see this!’ I had a cab ride and it is a strange (if that’s the word?) workplace but the operator certainly knew how to get the best out of his machine. Yes what an appetite those Jaguars have but a well set-up trailed especially with a 250hp chipped NH driving it is no slouch either! Many thanks Fraser, always a pleasure to hear from you.

Thanks Des. Yeh the Claas was having some hefty rows of grass to deal with, I remember the rake was the biggest I’ve ever seen! Those JFs sing don’t they especially with a bit of horsepower driving them. I’m well, cheers, Dave
