Hey you remember that trial I did earlier where the video was like 10 mins long and it sounded really complex and intense only for me to just be joking? Good times. Glad to finally add this trial to the list of ones I consider mastered.
And don't get discouraged! There's a lot to remember but people fail mechanics in every run here so you're not gonna stand out if you forget a few moves. You can do it!
I remember doing this one for the first time and everybody was excited that they'd drawn it in the duty finder. I don't know if I knew half these mechanics going in, but we got through somehow!

No worries, this was basically the one part of the fight I knew was gonna be a bit tricky because I hadn't seen any clear explanations on the timing myself either. Glad to now be able to provide one!
Love your guides! This one was published right after I redid it (I'm bringing a second character through MSQ), and it was indeed one of the more difficult trials to run with a pick up PT. Your explanation of all the mechanics is much more clear than other guides out there. I hope you keep making these! Especially hoping for The Dark Inside which I recall being also a rough one. Thanks!
Hey thanks, it's good to know the explanations served here. It was a bit of a longer video than I prefer (who wants to watch a 10 min video just to do a fight) but really felt like other guides I had seen had perhaps cut out too much - especially things like the tank LB3 timing.
The Dark Inside is already recorded, scripted and currently being edited tonight so it will come out soon™ :) Expect another exciting episode of Learning with Tom. You can probably guess what mechanic it'll be on.
I got into tanking just recently and that lb3 thing got me worried a bit. Thanks a lot for telling how to time it! You saved many peoples lifes.

To be honest I am surprised that none of the other guides I checked out for this encounter actually explain the timing because it's not obvious, and groups wipe here somewhat regularly (at least enough for most groups to ask the tanks if they know about the mechanic).
thanks for this awesome guide! im a sprout tank going into this fight the first time. figured i'd get off somewhat easy and get to off tank dps through it.. except the MT kept having connection issues, dying, so i took over at the LB3! Nailed it b/c of your timing strat. i never MT and I tanked this mother. Feels good man. Think i'm addicted

Hey no worries. I looked around for guides for this on normal and didn't see much that covered it too cleanly. Glad that this video might fill that gap. I would have liked to have made this shorter but it's difficult to maintain clarity at speed.

Thank you for the guide. Right, time to learn how to LB3 as tanks never had to to it so far and I don't even have it on my hotbar. edit: Cleared it. I was surprised to find people in less than 5 minutes at 3:30am, but it is a fun and interesting fight with great music. Well, time to bring them home. Can't very well leave it like that before going to sleep, right?

I always do it 1 or 2 sec after he reaches lb 4. we survive even if tank buff wears off. hmm
There's living dangerously and then there's doing whatever you're doing then I suppose 😅
Though I am curious as to how this works because an early Lb3 here causes wipes so maybe you're just somehow timing it almost exactly 🤷
It’s so aggravating when they lock level progression behind a trial like this. I’m stuck behind this and last time I tried it waited in queue 20 minutes and nothing. Plus all the one shot party wipe mechanics. Annoying. No wonder no one wants to run it.
