Tornado Siren - Weekly Saturday Test - Oklahoma City, OK
Weekly testing of the Oklahoma City tornado Whelen sirens.
One of the directional sirens that are located on the outskirts of the metro.
Outdoor Warning Sirens. OKC's outdoor warning sirens sound in and near areas where the National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning. If you hear a siren, immediately take shelter and get more information about the storm. There is no all-clear signal. OKC tests its sirens at noon on Saturdays unless there's a threat of inclement weather.

Amateur Storm chasing in Midwest Oklahoma. Primarily Missouri and Oklahoma.
Storm chasing is defined as pursuit of any severe weather condition, regardless of motive, which can be curiosity, adventure, investigation, or for news or media coverage. A person who chases storms is known as storm chaser, or simply a chaser.
That will clean out whatever is clogging your ears! I have one near me, but it is meant for those outdoors. I have a weather radio in the house and several apps on my cell phone. I am covered.
where are you located? Yeah I got a nice WX radio as well.
@@amateurstormchaser1452 I live just south of Macon, Georgia. We are not in Tornado Alley, but we do get tornados and other severe weather.
Whelen Vortex's/4004's are nice, we got a butt load of them here in Minneapolis, and an over recorded Thunderbolt...
It’s a vortex.
@@cooldomino1800 He didn’t say it wasn’t one. He’s just saying that they’re nice, in which they are, my city (Columbus, OH) is full of Whelen 4004’s and 3000’s.
I dont know why I find myself drawn to these sirens with the short wail click wail tone. Got to love OKC sirens. I have to rank them up there as my 3rd fav after my 2nd fav a 2T22 which followed by my most fav the Thunderbolt!=super sexy!!!!
I’ve seen a couple of them in person
Oh btw..... you might want to change the title to NE 108th..... you probably missed that you put 180th!
We just heard them today in oklahoma at 9.10am not Saturday is Tuesdays
I went to a 5020 in Moore yesterday!
Moore has some fantastic tornado sirens, i'll tell you that.
@@Zynueffe Yeah, the new tones they put on their sirens are just not good though
@@Zynueffe Yeah, what SOO said. They put on a tone called ThunderMod that is set to resemble a Thunderbolt. As accurate as it is, it's unsafe. I want to contact Logan and talk to him about this situation to kind of set the tones back the way they were.
@@NormanWeather I completely agree, tbh.
Dose that tone have a name? It's my favorite whelen tone and I only know of Moore, OK, St Louis, MO and Branson, MO having some whelens with this tone.
Alert
I know that, it's just that unique sound of the whelen, I was wondering if that sound had a name.
Parts of berrien county have this tone as well.
@@thebiglt2187 The specific tone of the sound is set to 435 Hz, I personally like it the most (Probably since I grew up in this area)
@@Zynueffe it's my favorite Whelen tone
Which place in Oklahoma’ is this
It’s city
